Chinese New Year is nearly upon us and the Simpsons are all about celebrating to earn a clean slate for the new year! So let’s clean house and pile up those donuts because there’s a store full of new Chinese New Year themed premium items just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Pros
-Comical design to go with some of the aspirational items in Springfield. (hopefully the Giant toilet isn’t far behind)
-Gives a funny fortune every time you tap it
-Good bonus % for donuts spent
Cons
-Giant is right, it is large and can be awkward to place in Springfield
Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
I don’t mind this one if you’re a bonus % seeker. And it’s fun. Plus, I’m a sucker for comically over sized items (world’s largest toilet would be great EA!). So if you’re looking to boost your bonus % and have a little fun, this is a good way to do it.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I already own it. It’ll take a nice spot in my China Town. Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores next week. So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

It was love at first sight. I didn’t even know about the fortunes, I just grabbed it. Was kindof bummed it wasn’t even bigger! Lol, I may be the minority on that one. Not always keen on decorative donut purchases but I love this one.
If I knew what to do with it, and if it were a tad smaller, if get it, because it’s on my sweet spot of “stuff that does stuff.” But I don’t, and it is, so I’ll probably pass. Luckily, you can get the fortunes by tapping it in a friend’s town, too.
Didn’t interest me at all until I read some of the fortunes. Might just have to get it! Your lucky numbers are hilarious

Yea, I got a bunch as well. I just didn’t want to post all of them to ruin the fun for everyone. Only posted a few to keep so mystery and fun in the item 🙂
Darn, I was hoping one of the fortunes was “Stay with your wife”.
That is totally one of the fortunes. Also, “You will find happiness with a new premium character.”

I went ahead and bought it over the weekend… and I promptly got “Stay with your wife” a whole bunch of times. I wonder if someone is trying to tell me something… ? 😀

Ugh, Any other time I’d probably jump on this one. It’s cheap, looks like fun, could make for a nice scenic addition. But with a new , what I’m assuming to be major event right around the corner, and one that has the potential to bring a lot of awesome things, Im saving up as many donuts as I can
This also comes with a one-off quest, “Tap the Giant Takeout Box”.
What would make the “Take out Box” interesting for me is if EA would add a fortune cookie that could posibly give out free doughnuts or other goodies each week, sort of like the Monorail Doughnuts. Either way I want “Mr.Sparkle” to appear in Springfield.
Yeah… I might buy this one. I haven’t quite decided yet, but there’s a pretty decent chance.
This has got to be one of my favourite purchases! The best one I’ve had so far is…stick with the wife! 😀 😀 😀 ROFL
Have it. Love it. Fortunes crack me up. While it’s giant given the size a takeout box should be compared to, say, the buildings in our Springfields, it’s not *that* big imo. I replaced a generic fountain with it, and it looks a bit smaller to my eye than the fountain did. It’s not tall enough to block buildings and, as you mention in your post, is only 3×3. So, yes, it’s big for a takeout box, but does not take up a ton of space.
