And there you have it my friends, the details for Round 2 of the Lunar New Year event…and a teaser as to what’s coming next from EA! Again, I’ll breakdown the teaser dialogue and what it all could mean early next week, I really just want you guys to have the chance to read it yourself in the game. There’s not much fun in me telling you…
What are your thoughts on Round 2? Where have you placed your Rooster statue? Ready for what’s next? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
For those that may not have noticed, the Golden Chicken produces fireworks when tapped…
Airport!!!!!!!! I hope lol.
An airport would be great, (I know it’s a long shot but I just thought of The Movmentarians handing out flyers there, maybe a different update)
Thank you for letting us know about the pins. I won a garbage truck, (I have none, so I was excited), from the rocket. Somehow I didn’t get it 😳 Not really anything to freak about 🤗 But… if I was missing the pins I would have thought it was going to be an ongoing pattern. You guys are great, I know I would have quit playing a very long time ago without all your help😊😊😊
All this teaser stuff brought to my mind The World of Commander McBragg, the short films during Rocky and Bullwinkle I think…
Quite.
Looks like French pins
Very true! Perhaps we’ll see the Eiffel Tower in our games
Dang it, I want more pins! Lisa DEMANDS MORE PINS!!!
Stuck my golden rooster in front of the Chinese acrobat theatre of course. Nice little time filler event. I wish you could randomly have houses or buildings be on fire all the time.
That sounds bad but I just mean it’s a cool animation.
I should have used this nice gap between events to work on my town more. I want to take the Pagan stuff and make a Viking village but I need to move some stuff.
International travel event teaser. (Map) pins?
Should we assume we’re headed to France for the start of the next event?
Just trying to decide whether each act will be bring a change in location or if multiple events will feature around the globe under a larger umbrella system.
All rubbish now its so boring, used to be great every day not anymore.
Could be you’re developing a tolerance, instead…
Silly me. I thought when it says “Bart shoots off fireworks” that there would actually BE fireworks. What a letdown.
The rooster shoots fireworks when you tap it, so there’s that I suppose.
I thought the same thing.
If you look closely at the back of the garage of the Simpson house, there are some sparks flying.
Does this pay a bonus%?
This update reset my daily missions 😡 I was going to get donuts after today’: task, but *poof* gone!
Lisa will be soooo happy! Remember? She collected the pins in the winter’s olympics, we even have the pin stand already in Springfield. Don’t know, just a clue…… I collect pins in real life so this should be interesting. I did enjoyed the rest though from a big event. It gave me a chance as well to tidying my town a bit too.
Something to do with Lisa & her pin collecting?
Does the year of the rooster statue offer any extra bonus percentage?
No.
Well, those pins are the French flag. Seems Valentine’s is going to be running parallel with approximately the end of act 1 of round the world. Romantic Paris for all you love birds.
This is assuming it is following the same 3 act system we have been getting. At about 2 ish weeks an act, that would put end of act 1 in the ballpark of Valentine’s Day. And it seems France is first up.
WHERE ARE MY PINS?
…Sorry couldn’t resist Alissa 😀
Have a lovely weekend ♡
That reminds me of Bart “where’s my elephant!?” Oh also, I took your pins Brooders 😛 I gave them to Mikey because he told me to do it.. Sorry.. 😛. 🐱🌸🌟
Mikey’s got my pins!
He also stole my balloons 🙂
Naughty Mikey 😛. 🐱🌸🌟
This confused me at first as in the UK we would call them badges not pins! I thought Of pins you stick in a map or use when sewing! My speculation for next week has changed a bit now, but I will wait for everyone to finish before speculating wildly (and probably wrongly! 😀)
We call them badges sometimes too, but they do have a pin on the back that you pin to something hence why we call them pins! The things to put on a map a more specifically called “push pins” 😉 … Additionally, I guess that makes us even as there’s a few UK words I can think of immediately that a lot of US people are confused by:
One’s place to park their vehicle= in US it’s a Driveway | in UK it’s a Yard
In the US a yard has grass and is another word for lawn
One’s land/property= in US it’s Yard | in UK it’s Garden
In the US a garden is where you grow food, flowers, herbs & spices, etc.
I am from Italy and in all my years of speaking English I had always used/heard the word badges/badge
I’m in the US, born and raised, and think of pins the same way you do. Straight pointy things used in sewing. So I’m always confused when they call those things pins also.
Badges here are often embroidered pieces of fabric that get sewn into your shirt as rewards for doing things in scouts and such but also can be more general. Decades ago we got badge like things as souvenirs when traveling through Europe, typically they had crests for the various cities. A badge for a police officer can also be made of metal. It also refers to something non-uniformed police carry in their wallet for identification. A badge can also be a temporary item like a name card with something like a safety pin attachment to fasten to your shirt.
These things in the came look more like medals to me, those are metal rewards (typically military) that are pinned or sewn to a shirt but apparently souvenirs like this can be called that.
Looking at the picture more closely – maybe they aren’t made of metal after all. If they are just cloth, I would call them badges or patches. They look like the souvenir cloth things we got as souvenirs from European cities. I don’t remember what we called them back then. Hey, I was only ten…
I have patches sewn on my leather vest for riding also😊 One of my favorites was my 1st, (other than rider name & US flag & Az flag), it reads “Normal people scare me” 😂
Very excited for the next event puns and all, been well rested this month lol bring it on early
We’re travelling around the world so I guess we’ll have to stick pins in a map.
Map pins. Obviously.
Still really confused on what the purpose of the pins is? Anyone? Alissa anything you know about them? I’m really confused!?
Nothing to worry about right now, I believe it’s foreshadowing for the next event. Don’t worry about it today. Just relax and enjoy you’re weekend 😉
Dream of Acupuncture
Dream of Stonecutters transcribing using pens (EA can’t spell pin)
Dream of the Olympic athletes exchanging pins
Dream of collecting those pins during your ’round the world tour
Dream of being on Needles and Pins with anticipation
Dream of Linda Ronstadt (alright, I just ‘aged’ myself out)
I think they mean badges (as shown), so likely you collect a badge for each place you “visit” or theme unlocked. I realise they’re called “pins” in the US, but it’s just weird. It’s almost as weird as calling the cloth badges as “patches” (to sew on a uniform). e.g. Boy Scouts collect badges. To patch is to repair something, so a cloth patch would be a scrap to repair a hole while a cloth badge is a decorative item. Similarly, a pin is used in sewing. You can pin a badge on, but can you pin a pin on? lol. Anyway, I digress! Just think of them like collecting postcards for each place.
Seems odd (and sad) that Maggie can’t go to the Chinese buffet with the rest of the family. She’s off playing unsupervised at the other end of town in the Playdough factory in my town. 🙁
Fatov and that preacher guy who is the local reverend’s superior and likes to play golf also don’t get to go to the Chinese banquet. You have to look hard to find the option for some of the others if they have a lot of tasks, but all the rest in my town get to go. Including the other babies and Brother Faith of the pink van. No wonder Maggie enjoys sacrificing sheep.
My town is definitely going have a serious obesity problem since I keep sending them all to the banquet every four hours.
Mabel it’s for the pin stand?
I got it!
Oooh
Awww
Owwwww
Pins!
Asian / Chinese
Acupuncture?
Imagine Homer walking around with pins sticking out of him, chased by needle/pin wielding Bart.
????
As to the pins …
It does say “Good luck finding (a use for) them.”
??
I remain, ever the cynic …
But, truly, Thank-you.
Tracy
So you cannot see the pins but it asks you to make use of them ?
It’s most likely a clue for the event currency for next week’s event. Around the World we’re guessing. But Alissa is doing a speculation post next week so stay tuned 🙂
Pins? As in pins and needles? They will have us on pins and needles until next week.
Why bother having dialogue “giving us pins” but give us nothing?
Might as well save a few lines of code?
Yes…weird.
Exciting stuff! Thanks Alissa! 🙂
