One thing is for sure with this Around the World update…EA is going to keep the Addicts staff BUSY with posts! Loads of content coming and going nearly every single day…so please be patient as we try to parse through what’s hitting each day and have the time to write up posts about what’s changed/what’s been added.
Early this morning new content hit our stores (some was related to the Around the World Event) to celebrate Superbowl Sunday (which is this Sunday on FOX). So let’s breakdown all the items, new and old, to celebrate Football!
And yes for those wondering…this does mean EA has “events” inside this event planned. You can expect to see Valentine’s Day items in a few days as well. So brace yourself for the craziness!
So when you first log into Springfield today (aside from the regular Around the World Stuff), you should have noticed some dialogue popup with Mayor Quimby:
Tailgate-gate
Quimby: We need to goose our tourism industry. We’re being eaten alive by Branson, MI (Note from Alissa, I think it’s supposed to be MO (for Missouri). MI is the appreviation for Michigan) and Punxsutawney, PA (Note from Alissa, Fitting since today is Groundhog Day..and yes, Phil saw his shaddow). Even the Santa’s Village in Shelbyville is beating us, and they’ve been closed since Christmas.
Rich Texan: I have the answer. We build a football stadium and host a bowl game.
Quimby: Who’s going to come to our football game when the big one is happening?
Rich Texan: Everyone who just needs a cheap excuse to get drunk outdoors.
Quimby: We are going to be rich!
Get Cleatus and Place the Football Field
Cleatus is the FOX Football mascot…
He is a free character, and does come with a few tasks.
Once you’ve grabbed Cleatus from the store (he’ll be listed as Free), you’ll also get a Football Field to place immediately. Placing the field is what will also unlock Cleatus. So don’t store it.

I would have liked to have bought more stadium lights & bleachers, since I was ill during that event & didn’t get enough of them. I’m not paying donuts with no % bonus given. Booo on EA for not letting us use in-game cash for a few of the items that are being offered. Looks like strike 2 to me after the flight ticket timer changed. I’m still enjoying the event(s?), but I’m going to be a little stingy with the sprinklies. This time (I always say this😂), I’m not blowing my boat-load 😳 within one week. 😜🤓😊😊😊
I’m having trouble with the Football Nelson task. I don’t have the required Soccer Lisa and Pin Pal Apu. There aren’t any way to get them. Help? Thanks.
There’s nothing on that we can do at the moment, you’ll have to contact EA and they’ll have to start a ticket for the studio to release a patch.
Any news on this patch for Pin Pal Apu and Soccer Lisa? I can’t finish the quest for The Full Nelson PT 2 and it’s just sitting there mocking me 🙁

Lots of great new stuff, both premium and as part of crafting and the event prices! It’s gonna be expensive though if you’re a completionist like me. I did a sneak peek and to buy all of the new premium items it’s gonna run ya upwards of 1500 donuts! Even more, 2000+ donuts if you don’t have some of the returning items. On the plus side, I’ve been eying that founders statue that you get free with the $100 donuts purchase. I’m considering it because a) most items are great; 2) I want it all…; III) even my most excessive KEM-farming efforts are not enough (the last 3-day run of KEM-farming netted me 900+ bonuts! It did cost me more than $50M in-game cash though…)
What’s the KEM farming thing.
It’s just building lots of Kwik-E-Marts and then selling them again for xp. Every Kwik-E-Mart gives 20,000xp when completed. If you use the xp multiplier and the regular bonus percentage from your decorations etc., ánd the hidden xp multipliers from SH buildings, you can level up really quickly. Every level up is 1 bonut, after lvl 939 it’s either 1, 2 or 3 bonuts every 1mln xp. So I built lots and lots of KEMs, about 350 evey four hours, and ended up with about 900 bonuts after three days. All you need a lot of free land, lots of cash and too much free time… My tapping finger was pretty sore for a few days though… 😄 There are some charts and posts on this forum if you want to know more…
Is there a glitch in this task? I place the football field, have Cletus, the task says it’s Done ( Pkace Football Field 1/1 Done) but the icon is still there with the red cannot proceed symbol. Tried all the usual dodges to unstick a task to no avail. Anyone else seeing this?
Yup. Came here to see if I was the only one. I placed the football field before I got the task, just browsed the store for new stuff. Maybe that’s why.

yes, I have same problem. Stored Cleatus and he disappeared from my game. Stuck on Main in Iron-Mask Pt.2 because of this. EA said I have him in storage but have searched endlessly to no avail. EA will not help beyond this.
I wasn’t able to find him as well but I have searched in various categories. Then I reopened my game and I found him when I just opened the inventory and without choosing any category, I moved to the end of items in my inventory – and there he was! Try this.
I have the same problem, however the tasks are continuing so I’m not worried.
I have the same problem! Maybe it is because I bought Cleatus before the questline showed up. I have already tried to store both Cleatus and the football field several times but nothing helps. I will have to contact EA.

I got the chance to talk to an EA tech support. To get your Cleatus back just access your MAIN INVENTORY (Do not access any of the 3 categories… stay in the main). Cleatus is in the far back (not in alphabetical order).

Nice to get a free football field! (and can buy an additional one with cash). I totally get donuts for the premium items, like Duff van and blimp….. BUT… the bleachers and lights should shouldn’t be for donuts or at least not 55 donuts for just one of each of the bleachers and a light for each corner of the field. OR if they are for donuts at least have a % bonus.
Okay….now that I got off my chest…. I love having a new fence to buy with cash (I am always looking for different fences and walls!) and I cannot wait to make add my new football field to my high school!!!!

Holy god… I can finally replace the makeshift “2 goal posts and a blank field” behind my SF High School with a real football field (and for free!)… AND I can blow some donuts to get the missing bleachers I need to finally finish my TapBall stadium!
Even if adding the Fox NFL robot is a bit cheesy… those 2 things have been on my wishlist ever since TapBall ended, so Moo is a happy cow.
Just wish there was more time to buy the super bowl items.. Would have loved to spend some donuts on them but three days only I’m gonna miss out 😢
I currently have 3 different event quests all requiring Homer. It’s kind of irritating having to juggle him around on different 4 hour jobs to get through the event. I have 125+ characters. Surely a couple others could be used.
Indeed, I focused on super bowl quest line (main already done I think 🙂 ). Not nice to have so many characters roaming around and not helping in the event 🙁

For some reason the task to place the football field will not go away. I also had a brief chance to buy more than one which is no longer an option. I’m about half way through the tasks already.
Same here. The task shows “completed” but doesn’t go away. And now, my Cleatus disappeared. Can’t find him in town or in my inventory. 🙁
My Cleatus has disappeared too, hopefully EA fixes this!

Check your main inventory, which is the screen when you first open it. Scroll all the way to the right.

Looks as if EA got wise with the 20 min airplane ticket refresh rate. Now it’s only 3 characters per hour. Not really worth the wait. Before I was sending 65 characters earning 34 pins each 4hrs. EA must have realized some people are finished Act 1 at a fast rate. I’m at the last last two rewards myself.
how were you doing 65 characters? i’ve only been able to send the same 5 characters all day long. i had some overlap last night when i sent everyone on flights at a quarter to 2, but 2 of those people were in today’s group (and one of yesterday’s characters ended up on the correct flight for today’s first mission), so i only had 8 people earning pins for that one 4-hour period. i greatly preferred the 2-minute timer for plane tickets. wonder if this was part of the osaka update or just something they had planned for day 3 anyway? i hope it doesn’t get longer as the event progresses.
It’s done. Mostly. You can keep adding characters…but it now takes 20 minutes to generate a ticket. So…advantage nullified.
For once, I was able to take advantage of a glitch before it dissapeared…yippee…sent around 200 people flying today. Went out shopping and found the 20 min patch when I got home…😫Thanks, Patric, for your great post…made my day!
How were you able to send 65 characters to earn pins?! I usually only have 3-6 characters available on the list at one time. Is there any trick to make more appear?
Yes. Send all but 1 of the travelers on their international trips. Send the 1 you held from traveling on another job. Return to the airport & you should have a new group ready to fly. As ticket availability arises, send all but 1 in that group on their trips. Keep repeating this until you want to stop. I’m not sure if there’s a max number, but with a 20 minute ticket refresh time you might get tired of being in the game before you hit a maximum number.
Hello, I just wanted to confirm that the country flag bundle still has the 7.5% bonus multiplier. I just want to be sure before spending the very difficult to get sprinkles.

I also see the Barney blimp in my store for 70 donuts, which is tempting since I don’t recall it be offered since I started playing.
Am tempted also, always liked it in neighbor towns…need to earn back some donuts, but I think it may be gone quick (and probably won’t be back till next year)…decisions, decisions…
