Should I Spend Donuts On Arc de Triomphe?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Pack your bags and prepare for an invasive screening at the airport because it’s travel time in Springfield! And while our towns are embracing their ever expanding airports, our donut bank is shrinking because there are LOADS of worldly items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should Arc de Triomphe to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this famous archway to your Springfield…

arc_de_triomphe

Decoration/Building: Arc de Triomphe
Donut Price: 80 Dounts
Earns: 2.75% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 6×8
Conform-O-Meter:
 Vanity +200

Leaves Stores February 13th

Pros
-Interesting looking decoration for Springfield
-Comes with a small bit of dialogue for Homer to eat a Napoleon
-Animated when in use (and when tapped), lights turn on.  When you tap you can turn the lights on or off.

Cons
-Task for Homer is not permanent AND does not earn at a premium rate (at least as of this writing)
-2.75% bonus for 80 donuts spent is a terrible bonus return on donuts spent. (40 donuts typically gets you 2%..so you can get 4% for 80 dounts spent…typically)

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
Unless you’ve got a specific design in mind using the Arc, I’d pass.  Lack of good animation, permanent character task there & terrible bonus % really make this one a meh in my mind.  If you’ve got a design in mind and think you can use it, pick it up.  Otherwise pass and save your donuts for something better down the line.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’m likely passing on this one.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon.  Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Here’s a look at the dialogue and task that pops up:

Arc De Tirades
Homer starts

Lisa: The real Arc de Triomphe was built by Napoleon Bonaparte to celebrate his greatest victory.
Homer: The invention of the pastry called the “Napoleon”.
Make Homer Eat a Napoleon- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp

  1. Arc de Triomphe

I was hoping that this would be a Crafted Building / Decor 🤔

Unfortunately? It’s overpriced & doesn’t earn enough % to justify (sorry EA, sometimes you offer a goodie …. and sometimes you don’t) 😛

  2. This is a lovely building. I bought it and it makes Little France in my town looks great

  3. I didn’t even notice it had a bonus. Pleasant surprise

  4. I actually like the French premium items a lot, and would’ve loved to get the Arc, since it would go pretty well with the Eiffel Tower. But I’m down to 300 donuts left, and I’m pretty sure I’ll want some Japanese and Brazilian items as well if the crafting items are any indicator.

I must admit, the annoying ticketing system aside, the items for this event track, whether premium, event prizes or crafting items are IMO the best of any event so far. Which is really saying a lot, as I’ve been playing for 3 years now. Compared to past events where there’s always items I don’t want, this time I want everything, and I’m almost wishing I was a premium player so I could get them all. Lots of kudos to EA for a great job!

Too bad you can’t put this one across a roadway, like the real Arc. That would’ve made for some interesting designs,

    • The real one is not across a roadway, it’s in the centre of a 10 lane roundabout. The tomb of the unknown soldier is underneath.

    • You can’t drive under the real Arc either. It’s in the middle of a massive roundabout.

    • But… The real Arc de Triomphe is NOT on a roadway 😉
The area under is a pedestrian one, reserved for tourists and with the Tombe du Soldat Inconnu… it’s just like a big roundabout with an Arc on it, but in no way does a roadway goes under the Arc ^^

  6. Esse evento está muito bom

  7. FYI, I have been buying mystery boxes. I usually buy multiple boxes at a time this way a go through cycles, usually 3 billboards and then 3 vans (for 9% increase). Depending how many 10 and 30 Donuts and Lard Lads I get, I pay 6.4 to 11.8 donuts per 1%. For example I have paid 190 for 24%, 58 for 9%, and 88 for 9% and 106 for 9%. The best was freebie (more 30 donuts won then paid). Usually the worst percentage come with lots of Lard Lads and 10 donuts (vs 30) prizes.

  8. Is there a sib on sailor kumiko coming out soon?

  9. I’m so torn on this one!! I pretend buy it to get a feel for the size then cancel the purchase. I think I can live without it, but I like the look of it!!

  10. This has nothing to do with this, but I just got to unlocking the 6th prize. It didn’t come up that I unlocked it and I was about a thousand passed the unlock. So I went to the friends list and back and it said I unlocked it, however nothing is in my inventory or anything. What do I do?

  11. One of my favorite buildings in France, and even though I typically don’t like grabbing items for my town that aren’t for ‘original Springfield’ I couldn’t say no to this one…. I reckon it’ll make a good monument in a Park within my town!

  12. I’m French therefore I had to pick it to make my “Little Paris” corner. Lovely event, so far I’m having a blast. A big “merci” for everything Alissa & Co.

  13. Pass. Also if you had to pick Le Krusty Burger or Chateau Maison
which do you think is better. I am having trouble deciding.

    • Actually maybe I will save up for Japan. Excited to see what you guys
      will post. ☺

    • Chateau Maison (imo)- it’s a classic building (the run down facade) and the bonus is that it gives Bart an outdoor task stamping grapes.

    • Chateau Maison. It has an awesome visual task for Bart to stomp grapes, plus you can change it from run down to fixed up.

    • The chateau! You probably already have the donkey and 2 dudes…Gotta complete the “set.”

      • Thanks so much! I’m gonna wait till the French part is over or until I get Cesar and Ugolin, but can’t wait to get it!

    • Chateau Maison. First, one of my favorite episodes from the early seasons. Second, Bart’s task of stomping grapes is great. Third, many existing decorations can be used with the chateau to create a little vineyard.

    • I guess I’m the lone voice for Le Krusty Burger, but I chose that over Chateau Maison, and I’m glad about it. It comes with a character (if you don’t already have the French waiter) and it looks really good alongside French city items, like the Eiffel Tower, the patisserie (and I’m hoping along the Paris Hotel). Put a couple bicyclettes and a scooter along the side, a cobblestone street across the front, and voila!

      • Good idea! I resisted the cobblestone streets at Halloween, but I’m going to unlock them now. Thanks!

BTW, I just crafted the Paris Hotel, and it looks great next to Le Krusty Burger.

      • I’ll join your voice. I already had the French Waiter, so I can’t claim that getting this building was a good “deal,” but I really liked the look of it and I thought it was funny and it went well in the French area of the Efcot theme park that I’m building.
