Should I Spend Donuts On Sugarloaf Mountain?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Pack your bags and prepare for an invasive screening at the airport because it’s travel time in Springfield! And while our towns are embracing their ever expanding airports, our donut bank is shrinking because there are LOADS of world items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should Sugarloaf Mountain to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this cable car tour in the sky to your Springfield…

tsto_sugarloaf_mountain

Decoration/Building: Sugarloaf Mountain
Donut Price: 100 Dounts
Earns: 3% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 12×10
Conform-O-Meter:
 Vanity +200

Leaves Stores February 11th

Pros
-Interesting looking decoration for Springfield
-Comes with a small bit of dialogue for Marge and a task for her to lead a tour.
-Animated when in use (and when tapped), car moves back and forth on the wire

Cons
-Large footprint for Springfield
-Task for Marge is not permanent (at least as of this writing)
-3% bonus for 100 donuts spent is a terrible bonus return on donuts spent. (40 donuts typically gets you 2%..so you can get 4% for 80 dounts spent…typically)

Final Thought
Premium:
I like this one.  I like the design, I like the animation..so I grabbed it right away.  I’m not a fan of the fact that Marge’s task isn’t permanent (and I’m hopeful EA changes that), but I do like this one.

Freemium:
Honestly, if I were a freemium player I’d pass on this one. It’s expensive, large footprint, bonus % isn’t great for donuts spent & the task for Marge isn’t permanent.  Lots of negatives with this one…so Freemium players (unless you really love this design and think spending 100 donuts is wroth it), I’d pass on this one.  Save your donuts for characters/items that are coming down the pipeline.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I grabbed this one already. I really like the design of it. Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon.  Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Here’s a look at the dialogue and task that pops up:

A View to Brazil
Lisa starts

Lisa: What a beautiful replica of Rio’s Sugarloaf Mountain, right down to the cable car.
Bart: Oh, this cable car is twice as strong as the original. The engineers were warned Homer might ride on it.
Marge: It’s the perfect place for me to show tourists the sights of Springfield. Thank goodness I knitted myself a tour guide umbrella.
Make Marge Lead a Tour- 1hr, Earns $105,26xp

Marge then talks about 3 items that are currently in your Springfield (it’s completely random as to which ones she picks (and again it’s based on the items you have in your town).  Here are the options she can pick from:

-The Springfield Nuclear Plant is completely accident-free since it vaporized the town and started this game.

-Looking at the hills, you can see that a prankster has changed the Springfield sign to read “Springweed.”

-Our Monorail lowers property values of every neighborhood it runs through.

-Oh, look! It’s Stephen Hawking, Springfield’s smartest man. He invented black holes, and now he lives in one.

-The shop with a parking lot full of surly teens is the Kwik-E-Mart. Stop in if you need meat-substitute products!

-To the left you’ll see Banana Dictatorship, the home of super-skinny clothes that fit no woman in Springfield.

-To the right you can see the Escalator to Nowhere, now the second best location from which to view Springfield.

-Over there is the Duff Brewery. Looks like right now they’re straining the rats out of the vats.

-Oooh, you can see my house from here! And Homer sleeping naked in the hammock.

-From here you can just see King Homer peeking out. Please hide your bananas.

-The glittering lights at the casino are reflected off Grampa’s bolo tie as he gambles away our inheritance.

-That statue celebrates Jebediah Springfield, the town founder and dedicated polygamist.

-If you’re blinded by the Mansion of Solid Gold, there’s an optician at the end of the tour.

-For the best views of incoming flaming comets, check out the Observatory.

-The Two-Story Outhouse was built on the site of Springfield’s old pauper cemetery. They say ghosts will bum cigarettes.

-Springfield Airport holds the record for most cans of whipped cream confiscated by the TSA. All in Homer’s luggage.

What are your thoughts on Sugarloaf Mountain?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield? Which of Marge’s tour sayings did your game pick up? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’m so confused by this one. Why was Sugarloaf Mt. offered only during France/Japan acts and not during Brazil act. I saw it in the shop and wanted it, but totally expected it to be available during Brazil act since it is a Brazil act decoration. So sure, I didn’t even consider the timer. Well, I guess EA just likes to throw you off balance sometimes. But seriously wtf, anyone understand this one?

  2. I can’t get it, but thank you for sharing Marge’s dialogue. I could hear her voice in my head saying them and I giggled.

  3. Been going back and forth on this for days…Sugarloaf or Arc, Sugarloaf or Arc….Sugarloaf won, it fits perfectly between Springfield fallls and the Gorge…😁😁😁

  4. Sugarloaf Mountain
Think I will wait for this to return again at 50% off (it’s too large for my Springfield), a shame the Marge Task isn’t permanent as it sounds amusing (then again – shouldn’t this have an 8% Bonus?) 🤔

  5. I’m contemplating buying this… I have a clear spot near my ski lift for this… I think I’m going to do a snow village, ski lift, snow man, Martin’s castle, etc.

  6. Pass for me. I have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Plus I am running out of donuts. Would be the perfect excuse to buy some more, though, and get a free character or decoration thrown in. 😉

  7. being a carioca (a person born in rio) myself, evidently i bought it. it does trigger my OCD though, because it doesn’t even remotely look like the very very very familiar shape of those eternal mounds. still. i’m happy to see anything brazilian, even the lame taxi and honky latino greaseballs that seem to be coming down the line.

  8. No idea what to do with it. I want it near Mt Simpsmore but that’s my big park, part of a historic district and you have to go through all sorts of red tape to change anything.

  9. It’s too similar to the ski lift for me. Now if the height could be adjusted as well as have the ability to lengthen the distance the cable car travels, then I might be more interested.

  10. An off topic question (you can throw all your rotten tomatoes at me for foing that as long as I get my answers).
Why does sometimes the airport allow to send 9 Springfielders to travel, and most of the times only 5? What does it depends on? Also, sometimes the timer for the next available ticket in the airport is going, and you do your stuff in Springfield while waiting, and then you check, and there is still good 5 or whatever minutes to go, but 1 ticket is already available. Its definitely before the time, I am quite sure. If it’s a glitch, good for me, but if it’s not – what triggers it and how to do it consciously? Thank you!

    • send all but 1 to travel destination send the 1 remaining person on the shortest task like a 30 min task or under( if possible) then go back to airport and then you will have 5 new people waiting to fly the tickets are 20 mins to earn so u can do 3 per hour and repeat above ive had as many as 20 at a time all different times but thats ok 🙂 good luck 🙂 pinkiwismurf

  11. I CAVED!
Too much cool stuff with this event, I have only bought donuts once before and I caved in and did again. 😱

But now there is lots of neat stuff to consider getting 😍

  12. Really want this but will wait for return with hopeful donut rebate

  13. Had to go for this as I’m creating an Epcot style section all along the top of my Springfiield starting with Kamp Krust then on the France then the Efcot building (spaceship earth look-a-like) and then on to Japan so this fits in quite nicely as a skyway and I plan to run the monorail around it just like they do in Disney World and every time the monorail passes while I’m playing I just have to say those immortal words
” Por Favor, Mantenganse Alejado De Las Puertas” 😊😊😊

  14. I had to get it (actually *cough* BOUGHT donuts for it) because I have the perfect wilderness/cave area for it. It’s big but nice looking. I’m pretty much a freemium played but I needed this.

  15. There is a Sugarloaf mountain in Maryland, about a 30 min drive outside of D.C. It lies only miles from the private golf club where I work and can be seen from a few holes on the back 9. Though I wouldn’t call it much of a mountain, def no cable cars required. But, it is a popular road cycling spot for the area’s bicycling enthusiasts.

I wouldn’t spend donuts on that Sugarloaf mountain and I won’t spend any on this one either.

  16. Thank you so much for posting all the lines, I hadn’t realised they changed, the ones I saw were for bog standard buildings so I assumed everyone got the same.

  17. I have an unrelated question. Are premium characters supposed to earn more pins for Norbert’s daily tasks? Because all of my characters, both premium and regular, are earning 34 pins. Just curious to see what everyone else is seeing. Thanks!

  18. I first thought it was Table Mountain of Capetown (South Africa) There is no Christ statue.
I bought it because I was on TAble Mountain on my holiday in South Africa 🇿🇦
However I have no buyers remorse.

  19. I got it but now don’t like it ggrrrr , useless decoration , not as good as the one I got with Ned Flanders ,stupid sexy Flanders

  20. ah…..finally figured why it says “To: Pinky” and “5 palm Drive” on post card 🙂

  21. Josephine Kick@$$

I really like it, but I’m on the fence… now if Marge’s task was permanent, or the bonus % was a little higher. I’m still wanting to pull the trigger on Dia-Betty. I hate passing on a limited edition character. 😊

  22. I’d like it more if you could place it on the beach and if the higher side was oriented the opposite direction. I have the Cristo of Springfield by the cliffs in Springfield Heights and I was hoping to put this in front of it on the beach but no such luck.

  23. Marge’s lines are quite hilarious 🙂
