Turbo Tappin’ Around the World: Act 2

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time to take off in Springfield! FINALLY an Airport has been added and the tourists are flocking to Springfield..it’s time to go Around the World in our pocket sized towns!

Act 2 of the Around the World Event hit our devices yesterday and a new act, of course, means a new round of the questline to work our way through.  As was mentioned on the rundown post Act 2 runs until February 24th, and you’ll need Homer to get things started.

Remember, the questline is there to guide you.  So when you get stuck on something, or haven’t unlocked something, just follow along with the questline and it’ll take you through everything you need to do to complete the second act.

So let’s take a look at the questline to see just what happens when Springfield goes Japanese…

  1. Is it impossible to finish these acts when you have a job? I’ve tried but I keep failing when I can’t play every four hours…

  2. Keep it Simple
    Make it Fun
    No Systemwide Bugs

So far? EA is doing all 3 for this Event (and thanks for the extra Land, EA) 👍

Why complain over minor things? Just have fun tapping (and no more NPC’s, please) 🤓

  3. I sent the squid on the seppuku task today and I can’t stop watching him go from smiley to self-standby over and over.

  4. I’m really struggling with getting new friends towns to visit as don’t no any 1 who played this game I play it quite regularly as over level 100 now. Any suggestions thanks.

  5. I just got the Squid Mascot. It is taskable. It has a 4 and 24 hour task at least, so no NPC as one suspected.

  6. They ad up more land on the rich side to buy with matts, furniture, pills, etc. Better than spend half a million on a small piece of land.

  7. One last bit of questline to finish tomorrow morning and then I’m done. Or, maybe I’ll hold off on that for a couple of days while I do this week’s rail yard tasks…

  8. Curious of something. I had a couple of neighbors that had over 50,000 pins already, one had an airplane that I haven’t seen anywheres, the other had all of the Brazilian stuff already. Hackers or no? I don’t jump to conclusions easily but seems pretty fishy. Don’t care to have neighbors like that.

    • Yeah, I got rid of all my neighboreenos that have hacked accounts. You can tell when they have items they shouldn’t have yet. (I take into account items that can be purchased with Premium Currency 😉 ) Its not fun, because they usually don’t participate with their neighbors, so you can never get anything from them, and they never visit you. Just dead weight… 🙁

    • If they have all of the Brazilian stuff already, I’d say yes. I have one neighbor like that, and have been thinking about whether to drop them…need to pay more attention to whether they’re visiting my town or not, because jnaples makes a good point.

      • Since I have add a lot of new friends to my list, I created a excel sheet to check which of my friends are visiting me. if they don’t visit me at least once in a week then …. delete.

        • I’ve done something like that in the past, but don’t have the time and energy to deal with that right now. If I don’t have to work this weekend, I might update my Excel list and start doing some tracking. But, at this point, the majority of my neighbors are people I know through here and are either great neighbors, or people I really life and would keep even if they’re slacking off a bit.

  9. What does Mr Sparkle do?

  10. I like everything on offer, but it feels like there should be more. Wonder if they will release more as the days go by?

  11. LOL 🙂 FX is airing “Marge in Chains” (1993), and I saw the same “germ cloud” that we have in this event! so funny, The “Osaka Flu”! RIP, Phil, we miss you 🙁

  12. Diggin the event, just need to organize. On another note I played the final round of where’s Maggie today and my sound wasn’t working, and of course she was in a completely different area of my Springfield than she normally is. Was quite irritated by that!

    • I finally stored the playdough factory today…every time I played, there was no sound from Maggie and it was too frustrating to continue playing. I have a giant town and could only find her once in a blue moon. I’m not wasting anymore time on it (and it takes up a lot of space for nothing). If they ever permanently fix the glitch, I can take it out of storage (yeah…right…).

    • Yeah, I don’t mind not finding her every time, but when it’s due to a technical glitch, it sucks.

  13. Best event since the Casino event! I love this! But I might be biased, being an European who has travelled to Japan on several occasions 😂
    Already spent 400+ donuts xD

  14. Impulse bought Himeji Castle. I mean, I HAD TO! I have been to the top of that castle. It’s amazing. Ancient castle plopped right in the heart of a modern city. Well, more like modern city plopped around an ancient castle. Anyway, it’s kind of huge, but I don’t even care. It’s awesome.

  15. i got a weird “act two complete” pop up today even though i haven’t even gotten the squid yet. i can still play the act, but seeing that was very strange. anyone else get this bug?

  16. I may need to mix my Chinatown and Little Tokyo together due to lack of space. lol I’m stoked they added deeper water! I’ve been wanting to put my islands and boats further out.

  17. Ned being a geisha cracked me up! WITH mustache! Panic!

  18. My Mount Fuji is an eyesore, no matter where I put it. It just doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere….except storage. 🙁

  19. Can anyone tell me what tapped out was meant to give me for Valentines Day?

    • I had the same thing happen! A prompt to place a romantic decoration, and then nothing.

      • I think it was supposed to prompt people to buy valentines deco. I’ve got some from previous years so it autocompleted.

      • Me too…nothing new in the store.
Also, thought for sure the plum trees would return to the store when act 2 started…nope….😢Boo-hoo

        • I bought plum trees today. They are for sale in ‘Decorations’. I looked in ‘Nature’ first. Maybe you could check again. Hopefully you can get some.

          • Thank you so much 😄…looked under “decorations” instead of “nature” and there they were 👍…yipeee! Bought 20 of them for decorating the Japanese area…

        • They’re still there. Check the deco tab, not just the nature section.

    • I don’t think it gave you anything other than a minor bit of experience for completing the quest. If you already placed a romantic decoration previously, it automatically completed the task.

  20. I feel like the main quest lines in each act are over a bit quickly. Already finished act 2. Perhaps I play too often but I am sure they used to be longer than they have in recent events. Still enjoying all the new items added to our Springfields.

    • How have you managed to complete act 2 in just 2 days? Dohnuts or Hacker!

      • I managed to complete act 2 today and I’m neither a hacker or donut spender.

      • Finished the quest, not the full act

      • Wow, jump to conclusions much? I’ll have the Act 2 quest done tonight. Now admittedly, I went a bit overboard with my game play yesterday, but it’s very possible to do w/o speeding the game up using donuts or hacking. Hope you were just joking.

      • Andy, he was talking about the Quest Line not the Prizes for act two. I only have one more task to do and I will be finished as well.

Mathew. it seems over the past while they have streamlined the times on the quest line tasks to 4 hours each. Unlike before when it would be 30m, 1hr, 4hrs, 8hrs, etc. Also you only get in-game money for finishing the tasks not event currency like before.

      • The questline and prize track are two different things.

With the tasks being each 4hrs long they matched perfectly with the collection schedule and progress went fairly quickly. Usually I keep quests associated with the prize items (people and buildings) for after the event, but this event quest has been so quick I’m working on the other quests now.

      • I finished the questline too, but am on the second prize now.

      • I think he is talking about the quest line only…it does go pretty quickly…lots of 60 minute jobs… I think the longest jobs are 4hrs…

      • A legitimate player and never use donuts to accelerate the task. Semi-premium so they are too valuable for that. Beside, add up the time to complete each task. 24 hours and 30 minutes. Easy complete in 2 days if you play every 4 hours for 16 hours a day as I do.

And I do only mean quest line and not the daily challenges to get the leather plane like some players apparently have.

  21. I love the new tourists! I am a big fan of this Japanese act. I think the mountain is beautiful even though it takes up entirely too much space. This has been a favorite event of mine so far. So much so that it has rejuvenated my love of Tapped Out after a rather disappointing Christmas and Halloween. I thought EA were really losing creativity but it seems as if they were simply saving it for 2017.
