Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
As with all events, many of you are asking for dialogue you may have missed from tapping too fast. Usually we wait until the end of the event to post the full dialogue, but in this case we have a couple of items that need translation or you’re wondering what else you may be missing. So in this case I thought it may be a good idea to post some of the dialogue a little earlier…
The Globe from Norbert’s Daily Tasks spits out fun facts every time you tap on it….
And then there’s Mr. Sparkle, who’s dialogue could use a little translation, especially when his dialogue looks like this:
So let’s take a look at all this dialogue of facts and translation….
Let’s start out with the facts from the Globe…
Tap the globe and it’ll spin round and round and spit out one of the following fun facts:
-Argentina is named after silver (argentum in Latin), after the Silver Mountains legend
-The Simpsons’ visit to Australia in “Bart vs. Australia” marked their first international outing!
-Brazil is the most successful country in the world at soccer, having won five World Cups. Homer referees in Brazil in “You Don’t Have To Live Like A Referee”.
-Italy really is the origin of the pizza, the first documented use of the term being in 997, nearly 800 years before the USA was founded!
-Japan boasts the oldest royal family in the world, dating back to 660 BC. Emperor Akihito appeared in “Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo” when the Simpsons visited Japan.
-Netherlands is home to the International Crimes Court in The Hague. Krusty was tried here in “Elementary School Music”.
-Norway is the most peaceful nation in the world. Why not go skiing there? They invented it!
-Peru is home to Machu Picchu, an Incan settlement high in the mountains. The Simpsons visited in “Lost Verizon”.
-Canada has hosted the Winter Olympic Games twice. The Simpsons competed in the 2010 Games in “Boy Meets Curl”.
-Mongolia was home to Genghis Khan’s Golden Horde. The Mongol Empire formed the largest contiguous empire in history!
-Portugal’s royal court was moved to Brazil for over 10 years.
-The Great Wall of China is a series of branching walls totalling over 13,000 miles long. The mortar which binds the stones is made from rice!
-Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean and is the only one to appear in the show, in “The Trouble with Trillions”.
-The Czech Republic used to be the Kingdom of Bohemia, and is now the world’s largest consumer of beer!
-Denmark has the oldest flag in the world, having adopted the Dannebrog in 1219
-Germany is home to the world’s first savings bank.
-Greece’s inventions include democracy, maps, the water mill, and geometry!
-The Simpsons visited the world’s largest democracy, India, in “Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore”.
-Egypt’s pyramids date back almost 5,000 years ago to the Old Kingdom.
-England’s capital, London, is the most visited city in the world. The Simpsons first visited together in “The Regina Monologues”.
-Finland was the home to the first internet browser in the world, Erwise.
-France is the most visited country in the world, and is where the Simpsons move to in “Bart-Mangled Banner” to escape America!
-Macedonia was home to Alexander the Great, the most successful general in history, whose empire was one of the largest of the ancient world.
-Mali was home to the world’s richest person in history, Mensa Musa. He had a net worth of around four-hundred billion, more than twice the fortune of Henry Ford!

Marge: He’s talking in the language all moms understand… cleaning!

Lenny: Think he’s asking for a tip?
Moe: If he can’t ask in American, he ain’t getting it.

Mr. Sparkle starts
Helen Lovejoy: Mr. Sparkle would make the perfect husband. He cleans the house… and that’s it.

Miss Hover: Whatever you’re proposing, I accept!

Homer: He’s just made himself the most dangerous enemy of all: a hungry, fat man.

Homer: That’s it, Sparkle. Your tyranny of tidiness has gone on too long! Prepare to face the ultimate mess-hole: my garage. Oil stains, tangled Christmas lights, silverfish-filled newspapers, and old clothes so smelly you’d think a rat died in them. Which it did.
Mr. Sparkle: The clean lifestyle is pleasant. Agree or die!
Homer: So you accept. You are brave, but a fool.

Homer: No, I was just mentioning my favorite brand of ramen noodles.
And there you have it my friends, some of the dialogue inquiring minds wanted to know.

I LOVE that you provided those Japanese translations! I had been taking screen captures of them to, at some non-existent moment that I have “extra” time (ha!), I could figure out how to use the interweb to get them translated. Thank you for taking this off my bursting-at-the-seams to-do list, Alissa!

Oddly, one of my neighbors seems to have a non-functioning globe. ?! I’ve tapped it a bunch of times every time I visit, but no love. All other globes I come across work just fine. Weird, no?
I can read Japanese, but holy crap did they butcher the language with that! It’s basically the most extreme, weeaboo, wapanese you could get from Google translate (done on purpose for comedy, I fully understand). But it makes it really hard to read for someone like me who only has a basic understanding! Kudos to making some sort of sense of that word vomit in all the wrong characters! Dattebayo 😜
No wonder I can’t make sense of iI was just reading the character and wondering why they were mostly in katakana instead of kanji and hiragana, and barely able to make any sense out of it. They do mean something, but trying to do a triple translation of reading the katakana, then figuring out what it’s REALLY supposed to mean in hiragana just made my head spin. Thank goodness Alissa did the heavy lifting!

The Osaka Flu must be some new virulent strain, because you can get it more than once…AT THE SAME TIME!!! In my game, it says that it has infected 103.78% of the world’s population!

…although that would then read “repent AND be cleansed…”
I don’t know where to post this, but my Norbert rewards have reset, I’m now in the process of collecting a second airport. Anyone else have this going on?
A second airport or a second terminal? Everyone should have had their lost luggage prizes reset with Act 2 – you should receive 1 terminal, 1 hangar, 1 plane, 1 free land square, 1 corner runway, and 2 straight runways for days 13 to 19. If you’re experiencing something else I’d call it a bug and go through the troubleshooting steps or call EA.
Now I know why all the extra land…the airport would have to be gigantic to use a second piece of everything…and…why duplicates, when so many other things could have been added?
Why not a fuel truck, security car, shuttle bus, or car rental booth? (just to name a few…)
I’m glad they spent more of their efforts on the national items, rather than on more stuff for the airports. Duplicate items can be useful, and of course you don’t have to use them all. Now if they game a bonus % ……

Nice! Thanks for the translation Alissa! I can read the characters, but I couldn’t really grasp the meaning of the full sentence. It’s pretty odd that most of the sentences are in katakana.
