  1. Ok, I really hate this game.
    Seriously.
    C’mon.
    I mean…

    Humpfh 🙁
    Grumblegripegroangrinchlygrievance…
I don’t normally get so graphic, and rarely choose my words indecisively…
    EA can eat a D. Or lick a P.
    Either.
    Both.
Maybe it’d be good for them.
… at least it would get the pole out of their A….

I know this won’t probably pass censors but I really need to rant.

I can see it now, just before this event went live, some poor nerdly boffin in the lowly ranks whom happened to sidle into the final decision board meeting and heard what was coming spoke up.
    I reckon he said…

“…Er, eckhem, how much fracklying content?”

… which was probably followed by some very questioning stares from upper management…

To which he replied, belatedly, staring at the ground, voice breaking in the constant effort to try and lower his testicles from around his solar plexus region…

” Er, what about a free land token?!?” I think this poor geek is working at Yahoo now…
EA HAS MADE ME A SLUM LORD!
I GET IT, YOU WANT US TO HAVE AN AIRPORT. LOTS OF FREAKIN FRIGGEN FILTH FLARIN AIRPORT!!!???!?!!!!>^@^&&#%$^*%&^(($#@!

On the Slum Lord dig, I’ve tried to ensure my non-real, psychologically representative, area of SLUM has as many services as possible.

I even did some research, based on the fact these are supposed to be Favelas from Brazil. The housing density is 5-7 occupants per domicile. In my small Slum I’ll amass nearly 140-160 citizens.

    Ok.

I’ll concede one point. For years, I, like many of you, probably had three WTF do I do with it buildings. They always became add ons to areas, but never really fit in. The Springfield Arms, the First Church of Lard Lad and the Orphan Alley.

    Especially Orphan Alley.
Anyone else saw that the first time and groaned about never finding a place?

I’m sure everyone else has their Where The Frack do I put it items, I’m sure most players give up and simply store it.

I place everything, and I wasn’t about to let EA get me on this one. So I now have my Slum District. Right next to the Gambling District (unplanned), also adjacent to the city dump and farm area (also, unplanned).

I have residential capacity of nearly 200 in a 3×3 Springfield block.
They should have as much as I can provide them.

Public Transport is covered, I re-routed the Monorail through their main “street” to ensure they can hitch a ride when ever they need it. They also have a bus service (Crappy RV), and delivery for their fast food market area next to the First Church of Lard Lad (covering both spiritual and sustenance needs via a couple of scooters).

Public Services are as good as I could achieve, with an Orphanage, a Shelter, and and Old Age Centre, catering to the different ages of society.

They also have sporting grounds (concrete soccer), a market (next to FCoLL with food and fundamentals), TWO pubs (Barra and the Arms), and the basics of waste disposal (bins, recycling and can).

    So ner EA.

I will take your humble masses.
    I will accept your poor.
I will facilitate them to ensure they can reach higher.
And I will make them part of my society.

  2. Saw this post on Yahoo yesterday and forgot to post it here.

Homer Simpson is getting ‘inducted’ into the Baseball Hall of Fame

  3. Really like today’s Google image. One to download and save 🙂

  4. Just saw this, the first photo is the Simpson’s in a classic painting!
    Gave me a giggle!

  5. Good news, everyone!

TinyCo and Fox announced the development of a Futurama mobile game called Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow.

From the press release: “This partnership continues the strong teamwork that Fox Interactive and TinyCo established with Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, a mobile game based on the hit Fox animated TV series Family Guy. Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff has attracted tens of millions of players while winning multiple awards, and Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow looks to continue in this tradition.”

No release date is set, but the game will be available for iOS, Android and Amazon devices.

The news is good for Futurama fans, but I don’t think it bodes well for a Futurama crossover on TSTO.

    • Not thrilled that TinyCo is doing it….

      • Agreed. I’m a big fan of Futurama, but all the poor reviews I’ve read about Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff makes me want to stay away from Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow.

        • I play both and I can say in all honesty I have nearly quit Family Guy because it is so stressful. Forget completing any quest line without spending real world money. The opposite of Tapped Out.

      • So shall we anticipate a Futurama addicts site in the future? 🙂

        • lol maybe. I don’t know though. I lost interest in Family Guy because of the grind and constant updates with it (and the stress), so if this becomes like that it’ll be difficult to maintain another Addicts site like TSTO. Especially if I’m not excited about it…

      • Ditto, but I’ll probably still give it a try.

    • Won’t play it but glad it can end my nightmares of a crossover event

  6. How do I earn plane tickets? I keep having to use my donuts and I’m almost out. Thanks!

  7. Hi Fever M., sorry…that makes 2 days in a row that I tagged your courthouse…it is hidden by the castle and all I can see is the fan floating until I hit it. If you move it away from the castle, I promise to watch for it more carefully…sorry again.

  8. I asked this on a previous thread but Ill try again here.

What determines when certain buildings are animated? I understand that obviously when certain tasks are being done at a specific location, if the location has animation it will kick in. However there are times where certain buildings simply come alive with its full animation without it hosting any task. The Lucky Casino and Springhenge come to mind. Is this complete arbitrary and random?..or is there some new devilry at hand?

    Thank you 🙂

    • I think the reason no one answered is because we don’t know why certain areas of the town suddenly just “come alive”…whole blocks of buildings will become animated for no reason that we can see, and then stop later on their own…🤔👻🙀😈…it’s a puzzler…

    • Unless I’m confusing you with someone else who asked this question, I’m pretty sure I answered you the last time you asked it…

Most of the time, it’s just a random thing. Periodically, the game will decide to animate an area of your town…I think of it as a temporary little gift. The animation will stop if you shut down the game and go back to it, or even if you go to Krustyland or your neighbors and back.

However, if it’s just one building, it could be that the Wise Guy or the Babysitter Bandit ended up in that building for a task….both of those characters have a task that lets them go into the nearest building and animate it. If the animation persists if you leave and come back and it’s just one building, that’s probably the cause.

      Does that help?

    • I’ve alway’s believed that it’s EA that decides what building’s get animated or not. They can decide if to leave a building animated, add an animation to a building, or simply take it away during an update.

sandrashill did mention that a character task can animate a building. Whether or not it is permanent is up to E.A.

There’s at least 1 permanent building animation I can think of and that is The Nuclear Power Plant. When you send a certain character on a Plant Shift that trigger’s an animation in the tower’s to start billowing smoke. There are other task’s to activate the tower’s animation. I’ll name 1 more – send Mr. Burns to Run The Plant.

      • I don’t understand what you mean by “1 permanent building animation”? I know you just said “at least,” but there are TONS of buildings that always animate whenever a character does a task there. I’m sure I’m just misunderstand you…

        • I mean by permanent is that E.A. is most likely not gonna ever take that animation away.

I know, I was using the towers as an example.

          • Has EA ever taken away a building’s animation (one that wasn’t just during a questline)? I can’t remember that ever happening, but I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t have the greatest memory…

            • Yes. Though I can only think of 1.

              http://simpsonstappedout.wikia.com/wiki/Bad_Dream_House

There are no permanent task’s as you can see. EA only put’s the task into the game during the Halloween Event. Then the task is removed with the Takedown Update. Though for the first time EA did not put the task into the game, I looked everyday and nothing so don’t care or believe if anyone say’s different, during the last Halloween Event.

So the task has not been in the game nor has the building been animated since the Halloween Event in 2015. Over a year now.

          • Wise Guy (12 hour task “Check the Plumbing”) or Lucille Botzcowski (24 hour task “Rob a House”) can be used to animate the Bad Dream House at any time. This also works for virtually any house in the game that you would like to animate. All animations are permanent you just need a character to activate it.

      • Not smoke, its water vapor

    • I think it is just programmed to happen randomly or at set times every so often, perhaps to make the buildings and decorations look fun.
Or maybe the spring fielders are having a secret party 😛 they must get bored when they only ever do the same tasks all the time… (Chosen by ‘sky finger’) 🐱🌸🌟

    • I thought it was one of the tourists from the event that activates the animation when you tap them and they run to a building and go inside.

    • I can’t address your question regarding the animations, but Sandra and Kitty seem to have it pretty much covered. However, I will comment (and this is just my opinion), that a possible reason that no one responded to your earlier post could be that your screen name is extremely vulgar and offensive.

  9. When did they add the 3rd layer of sea land? I only noticed it today 🙂

  10. http://imgur.com/a/yEnYT

I’ve been seeing these stairs on some of my neighbors’ ports and I’m wondering where are they from? how can I get them? I’ve never seen them before. Did I miss some event? lol

  11. Does anybody else play any other Origin/EA games? I play The Sims 3 and Simcity 2013. One of the reasons I ask is because I’ve read comments from people that would like to send messages to their neighbors. If you have origin downloaded on your computer, there is a chat option. I’ve never tried to send a message but, it’s an option and when I click it all my TSTO friends come up. I also just really love both of those games. I play a lot of video games and would just like to know who else does and what you play.

  12. Anyone have a problem crafting the Churrascarias? I handed in the credits this morning and didn’t get it to place or in inventory. Tried all the normal stuff (force quit, sign out/back in) but nothing. Contacted EA already but just wondering if it was me (usually the right answer!)

    • If you chose to store it, rather than place it…look thru the general inventory all the way to the end…sometimes new things get stored without a sub-heading(decorations, buildings, etc) so they are hard to find. The general inventory is also laid out by sections, so you can’t just go to the first section starting with “c”, you have to look thru the whole thing. It’s a pain, but it’s the only way to be sure you don’t already have it.
Note: I always place new items somewhere in my town… then go back and put them where I want them…easier all around.

  13. Hi! Long time freemium player here…
I have about 105 donuts right now, and I really thought I was going to buy Mr Sparkle, BUT… I’m finding that this particular event has some very beautiful decorations! I know that logically I should spend my donuts on things that will earn money and bonuses etc, but honestly, I have SO much stuff in storage simply because I don’t like the look of it. So I think I’m going to hold out for the Brazil part of this event to spend my donuts. It looks like the giant Jesus on the rock (sorry, don’t know what it’s called) will be making an appearance, and who knows what else!?

  14. Did we have a mini update today as my SF has been lagging badly, also every time I start the game it seems to boot up from the “gracie” screen (which normally only happens when I’ve switched the kindle off and on again)

  15. I just noticed the names of the competitors at the Sumo Stadium…
Sakatumi (sock it to me) and Nakadowna (knock a down a)…
Pretty silly, but I thought it was funny…⛩😁

  16. Evening all! Hope everyone’s weekend went well.

  17. Things I would like to see in the game:

A Kabuki skin for Marge & an outside task doing Madame Butterfly at the Springfield Bowl. Maybe a combo task with ice Princess Martin.

A sumo wrestler skin for Homer and/or Wiggum and/or Comic Book Guy. Must have an outside task to wrestle the Osaka Seafood Concern squid which he (they) always lose resulting in the squid perched atop a recumbent Homer’s belly with 2 tentacles clasped together above his head being pumped in a victory celebration.

    eight two banana

    tonflo1

  18. I’m currently having an issue with Act 2…

I have enough credits to earn the KTV building but I haven’t gotten it? when I go to my prizes section it shows 30+thousand out of 28 thousand, and the speed up is -55 donuts.
I can’t find a way around it and I’m worried I’m going to miss out on the rest of the prizes for Act 2.

    • Go to neighbors/Krustyland and come back. Or force close the game.

    • You should contact EA

As for you worriness, you still have four days before act III, and even then you will still be able to go on with act II prize line (even act I). Of course, as time goes by, things get harder.

    • Have you tried going to Krustyland and back (or your neighbours screen and back)?

  19. I was going to wait for the Brazil thread to say this, but since I’ve reached level 20 of crafting, I’ll start with the craft items.

I am a brazilian addict and therefore the critics below have some value.

    1. Pau-Brasil

I’m not sure how it’s called, but it’s the level 15 prize after the Xintoist Temple and the Taxi. If you google it, you’ll realize that despite the country name comes from that tree which we had the hugest reserve in the globe, there’s no one left here since the Portuguese Crown have cut it all five hundred years ago and sold in Europe. Today you would look for that tree in universities.

“Brasil” is a portugueseish term for “brasa” (portuguese) which stands for “ash” (english), because the Pau-Brasil wood “bleeds”, in the sense that there’s a red pigment inside of it, like Urucum. That had a huge commercial value five hundred years ago, and still have.

That feels like some kind of tribute to the country’s history and despite TSTO graphics are not very realistic, this is the only brazilian related stuff so far that feels good.

    2. Unlicensed Taxi

I’ll admit that Brasil is the country of civil disobedience and anarchy. Despite what you see in the news and official speechs, if you are born here, you’ll often hear in the streets all sorts of common knowledge that boils down to “roses are red, violets are blue, law is law, you obey if you want to”.

In that sense, a clandestine taxi makes perfectly sense, since it’s something you’ll see a lot in Brasil. But not the way that TSTO is picturing.

First, we don’t have yellow classic cars here, let alone taxis like that. It’s silly. Second, the clandestine transports are more like in the Uber sense than trying to look like a legit cab. When you do something illegal in Brasil like that, you do it explicitly so the customer knows before hand what (s)he’s signing up to. There are a lot of frauds, however, but not in the sense of a fake cab.

So this TSTO taxi looks and feels totally alien to Brasil. I’ll just pretend it’s part of French or Japanese craft items, or something else.

    3. Churrascaria

I can’t possibly explain how silly it is to put an “apostrophe and s” in a brazilian portuguese substantive. Even worse is to write “CHURRASCARIAS” in the graphic building, there’s not even the apostrophe there. This is so irritating to look at that makes me feel like contacting EA to fix it somehow.

That is my personal opinion, though. Other brazilians may feel neutral or even like that.

    4. Street soccer court

Most of our soccer fields are either grass or dirt, it’s way better than concrete. But in some places we indeed have concrete courts, but it definitely is not surrounded by walls. The ones who are surrounded have a metal fence.

And then someone decided to put those metal trash cans there. Now you have a perfect reformed USA basketball’s court so people can play soccer. We don’t have metal trash cans nor we hide the trash in dark alleys. We expose our trash in the middle of the streets. We have open metal bins or plastic containers that we put in the middle of the avenue or in the sidewalk, so the trash truck take it more efficiently.

That court feels so alien, that if it wasn’t for the brazilian spirit of “let’s do it despite the circumstances”, no brazilian would play soccer on it.

    5. Lifeguard tower

Seriously, what the hell is this?

Seems like the graphic artist who was hired to do a lifeguard tower wasn’t told what to do and just drew a white wooden tower that he saw in a Florida’s pin up poster from sixty years ago.

This makes past mistakes come to mind, like picturing monkeys in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, when we only have monkeys in the street in Manaus, which is the middle of the Amazon jungle. It’s kind of offensive.

    6. Restaurant with a tree

    I like that one.

    • Forgot to mention that I still hope that I’ll see a Santos Dumount’s 14 Bis in the store.

I feel that I should receive one of them for free for the trouble =D

  20. I came up short on act 1 and have never paid for doughnuts. Will I be able to buy the final act 1 prize with doughnuts in act 3? Thank you!

    • If you mean the regular event prizes, then you don’t even have to spend donuts, you may use the regular event currency. You’ll have to be very active to get it all in time, though.

You may do the three acts in order until the event finishes. But since I’ve just finished act II today, i think it will be hard to get through it all without spending donuts.

    • If you are talking about Cesar and Ugolin, yes you can still buy them…tap on act 1 to pull up the prize track, then tap on them to see how many donuts they cost.

  21. Er, hi prospective neighbourinos!
I’ve received an inordinate amount of friendly requests this event, before accepting any of them and before I decline all of them (llloooonnnnggg time player, 100 slots filled, but I do have stragglers…), would any of them like to introduce themselves?

  22. Woah. For the first time I won donuts in Krustyland O_o And not one, but five, too ! Didn’t even know that was possible. Not complaining though 😛

    • Sideshow You gives you 5 donuts after every 300 balloons popped. So, if you visit twice daily, you should get five donuts every 7 weeks or so.

      • Been playing twice a day forever, only gotten one donut, one time…so not sure the “300 times” is a hard and fast rule. On the other hand…I usually get 2, and sometimes(rarely) 3, donuts when I do my neighbor visits every day…go figure. (I do visit all 90 neighbors everyday, maybe that’s why?)

        • I think we’re taking about two different things… I’m talking about getting donuts from Sideshow You, which only ever gives you tickets or 5 donuts (from one balloon)….it never gives out 1 donut. Are you talking about visiting your friends’ Krustylands, perhaps? In that case, you have the same odds of getting a donut from collecting tickets from buildings there that you do from collecting cash from buildings in Springfield – it’s a .05% chance per tap (meaning that, if you visit and tap three buildings in all 100 possible neighbors a day, you should *average* 1.5 donuts a day.

But, if you’ve been tapping Sideshow You balloons twice a day for years and have never gotten the balloon with the five donuts, then I think something’s broken in your game. Because, unlike the bonuts from tapping neighbor buildings, that is not an odds thing (well, I’ve heard that on top of the guaranteed 5 donuts every 300 balloons, there is a chance of getting the 5 donuts anytime, randomly, but I’ve never seen that and not sure I believe that).

      • I have played Tapped Out every day since I started the game in March 2015 during the Superheroes event. I have received donuts in the Sideshow You game exactly twice. I took screenshots for both of them, because it was so rare. While I visit Krustyland only a few times a week now, for the first 18 months I cleared Krustyland at least 3 times a day, tapping the balloons every chance I got. I finally got frustrated with the odds not matching up to what others were reporting and lost interest, but I still play it a few times a week and have never again won donuts. But I do get them fairly often when visiting neighbors.

  23. Regarding the flight tasks, l thought the An dorra – Windowa gag was priceless. Had some tappers scratching their heads which made it even funnier for me.
It’s these little gems that keep me coming back for more.

  24. Completed act 2 last night and now just waiting for 3 to start playing through the sumo questline and earning currency for crafting during the down time.

With the start of a new week hopefully things will get better in my life as a week that started out great with a trip to see the hilarious jack Whitehall turned into one of the worst weeks of my life. First my uncle passed away due in the night at his care home where he has been suffering with cancer I’m just very grateful that fate allowed me to go see him one final time the night before. Then at work I decided to ask someone out that I’ve had a crush on for a while and she said yes and we swapped numbers however 2 days later when I next saw her it was revealed that she thought I was only asking to go out as friends and she has no interest in dating mewhich was horrible to hear after being so happy about her saying yes so back to the friend zone I go I guess.
Then finally just for a final kick in the privates my phone crashed for a long period yesterday and wasn’t reacting to any input then when it did come back the battery decided to completely drain itself .and finally mywatch which hasbeen working fine for years just decided to break for no apparent reason
This week is starting with me visiting an old friend I haven’t seen in a while so hopefully my fortunes are going to change again

  25. Ahh, sorry. I meant to put this in the friend requests section.

  26. Due to Wi-Fi issues wasn’t able to play most of the weekend. Fortunately still on track.

  27. Genuine D’oh! Moment. Being new to this game, I’m still adjusting to a lot of things, like not tapping too fast (if I’ve vandalized you, I’m sorry!) and trying to keep characters free etc. I’ve been on this wonderful site with all its knowledge reading my little heart out and I just realized how much time I’ve wasted. I can’t do anything in neighbor’s Krustylands, so I’ve been scrolling through my neighbor list probably a dozen times a day waiting for them to go back to Springfield. Thanks to the “How to recover gracefully from a nuclear blast” page, I’ve only just discovered I can tap the Krustyland shuttle to go back to their Springfields. Sigh. There is so much to learn.
I’m dakotaskyehs in the game, and I’m getting on the ball neighboreenos, I swear it.

    • When you’re on the neighbors screen (the one you can swipe through to see all of your neighbors, three at a time), if you tap on the lower part of the image of their town, it will take you to their Springfield; if you tap on the upper part (which is an image of Krustyland) it will take you to their Krustyland. Once you’re in a neighbor’s town, if you use the navigation arrows in the upper left, it will take you to your next neighbor’s Springfield or Krustyland, depending on whether you were in the previous neighbor’s Springfield or Krustyland. Although you can take the shuttle in neighbour’s town to/from Krustyland, there should be no need to.

  28. I’ve been waiting and searching, but can’t find it. Maybe one of you got it and can tell me. “Is the Battling Seizure Robot a character with jobs or just a strolling icon?”

    • NPC, so just strolls around – if you click him, the whole screen flashes.

    • It a NPC (non playing character). I’ve asked this, it’s one of the first comments in this thread.

People who bought it say it just hangs around like Maurice, and when you click him, he flickers the screen so as to try to induce an epilepsy on you.

Looks like EA is trying to be forced to have an epilepsy warning in the game’s installation or some broad sense joke like that.
