Should I Spend Donuts On the Filthy Angels Orphanage and Ronaldo?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Pack your bags and prepare for an invasive screening at the airport because it’s travel time in Springfield! And while our towns are embracing their ever expanding airports, our donut bank is shrinking because there are LOADS of worldly items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Filthy Angels Orphanage and Ronaldo?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Brazilian orphan turned star to your Springfield…

Final Thought
Premium:
This is a fun character.  His tasks are really fun, especially the Flamingo one.  If you still have donuts burning a hole in your virtual wallet pick this combo up.

Freemium:
Freemium players, as I’ve said before, I still think Kumiko is the better deal (if you don’t have Kumiko).  150 donuts is a steep price for any combo, especially one for a one off character.  Unless you’ve really got some deep love for this character, I’d pass and save your donuts for something better down the line…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’m on the fence with this one.  He’s a fun character, but 150 donuts is a steep price for this combo.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon.  Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Here’s a look at his tasks..

  1. 150 Donuts – high price considering tappers have had prior offers from between 100 to 120 Donuts for a similar Character / Building combo (but it’s under that 200 to 250 Donuts range – which I think is ridiculous)

Kumiko has been the best deal – even though we’ve had several new Characters made available that are not voiced (what the deuce? I hope that’s not the norm for this game app now!)

  2. I don’t understand why there is a “Should I buy” about Ronaldo…the first two words should be cancelled.

    😉

  3. If his Flamingo task had audio of it going “Tookie-Tookie-Tookie” I would have bought him just for that. But since it doesn’t I’ll have to pass.

My only complaint… EA hasn’t brought back the ice cream truck 😂 Yes, this was a bit pricey, but I really wanted all of the Brazil content I could get, since it’s a destination on the top of my bucket list 😍 The tasks are very amusing also 😊

  5. Still saving for Kumiko!

Got him straight away! His Tuci animation is amazing! 😀 Wish he had a task with the monkeys or parade float, but he is still great. Finally watched ‘The Nightmare After Krustmas’ that has been the highlight of my day, Maggie is SUPER cute! 😍 “Don’t lie to me or Christmas morning will never come!” That Gnome is so rude! 😭😭

  7. I don’t know what I would do with that building, so I may pass.

  8. 150 doughnuts for a character/building combo is a good deal.

    • Oh what planet? 😉 100 Donuts for a character/building combo is a good deal, 120 is more fair priced for 1 off characters. But not 150..

      • It’s a good deal if you’re a KEM farmer. I thought that 225 doughnuts for DiaBetty was a bad deal, and I passed on that one. But I could have obtained her too if I wanted. I’ve felt for a while now that you should have three categories for SIB: Freemium, premium, and farmer.

It’s funny how these things go (he said wistfully). I remember the days when I was scraping for every last doughnut. I spent a total of $35 on this game, and though I don’t regret spending the $, I feel now that it was almost silly to spend the money now that I’m a farmer.

I don’t really want to re-open the debate about farming vs spending money vs playing for free with no farming.

        Thank you.

        • I’m a farmer, and still wouldn’t call it a good deal. I’d call it average, because most building combos seem to be this price.

      • I’ve been playing since a little before Whacking Day. Outside of a rebate situation, when’s the last time a new character/bldg was 100 donuts? In my mind 150 is the norm.

        • Akira, Luke and the Barn (during Wild West), Brother Faith and his bonus % earn van were 110 (I know not 100, but close), Gravedigger Billy and the Plot…it happens. Not always, but it happens. Which is why I say it’s a great deal. 120-130 is generally the norm. 150 is on the high end, especially for a one off character. (and yes over 200 donuts is crazy for a 1 off character as well)

      • 150 seems to be the standard price lately for a character/building combo. I would say anything above is a bad deal, and anything less is a good deal, but 150 for a character plus building is an average deal. Not good or bad.
120 for Xoxchitla plus her float is a good deal. 225 for Dia-Betty plus the factory is a bad deal. 150 for Ronaldo plus the Orphanage is average.
For characters without a building, I consider 100 to be the average price.

        • Josephine Kick@$$

Your reasoning does make sense. My only beef is the float should have had just a bit more to it & character interaction. 😊

    • Compared to some of Gil’s “deals” 150 seems like a steal. That said, I was on the fence until I saw his parade as a flamingo task.

  9. The flamingo and football task make it a must buy for me 🙂

  10. I bought it, because I’m generally into picking up character combos that aren’t too wildly extensive, but I gotta say that it’s depressing that, for a town as small as my Springfield, it should have two orphanages! Either the death rate is unusually high there, or someone needs to teach Springfielders about having responsible sex. 😉

    • Haha It’s prizes like this that ruin a storyline for me. Begins nice enough with a way to draw in tourists, but then they throw in something like this that falls under “real world” to me that doesn’t fit the event theme.

  11. Love the character and a 4 hour outdoor task… I’m in!

  12. When do we get Pepi?

  13. 150 donuts is a lot, but when there’s no special offers going, what else am I gonna do with all these KEM-farmed bonuts?

    • I’m starting to anticipate experiencing those same kinds of sentiments, myself. I probably haven’t been playing as long as you, though, so I have plenty of premium characters and such that I haven’t yet purchased… but as time goes on, I’m finding that I tend to lean more on Alissa’s “Premium” advice than on her “Freemium” advice — even though, *technically* I’m still a freemium player, as I’ve never spent any real money on the game. I have to admit, I’m actually considering whether or not I should just throw a few dollars at it, in the same spirit as “Shareware” from days past… but not actually out of any sense of needing to spend money in order to fully enjoy the game.

(That said, you can obviously always buy more percentage enhancing decorations… or just save your bonuts for the next event.)

      • I’m like you in regards to never have spent any real money on the game. I think what some people do is wait until Amazon has discounts on itunes gift cards or gift cards for android devices and then buy doughnuts for less money
I live in Canada and everything is more expensive. Every so often I do see some good deals for gift cards though.

    • Whats your farm method?

    • Flags. Buy lots of flags. They have one of the best donut to % ratio in the game.

  14. Not for my Freemium budget. However, I do l like that EA made the outdoor/visual task 4 and 8 hours which I commonly use.

  15. Was hoping for interaction with the monkeys…..

  16. How could you not?
