Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Pack those bags and grab your boarding passes because it’s time to go Around the World with The Simpsons! The Around the World Event is in full swing in our pocket-sized Springfields and that can only mean one thing….all new prize tracks to work our way through!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Third Act you’re tasked with collecting Brazilian Pins (
) to unlock each prize!
The second Act 3 Prize awarded at 11,035 is the Vicious Monkeys, because this is as close as Brooders is going to get to Zombie Pirate Monkeys….
So let’s take a closer look at this second prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 11,035 you’ll automatically be awarded the Vicious Monkeys and you’ll see the character unlock messages popup once placed in your Springfield…
And the Monkey’s will comeplete the Exotic Animals and Pets Character Collection:
The Vicious Monkeys are a full character (3 in one, although they don’t pay out that way), and once placed a questline will start up. Here’s a look at the questline:
Thirteen Monkeys Pt. 1
Moe starts
Moe: Hey, Mayor Quimby. Your shipment of monkeys has arrived from Rio de Janeiro.
Quimby: Wonderful! Nothing adds Brazilian flavor like the screaming of furious primates.
Moe: Hey, how come they’re headed into the barra?
Homer: They’re stealing the fruit from our tropical drinks!
Make Vicious Monkeys Steal Refreshments- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Note: Some of you are having trouble with this part of the questline. The buildings required are either: Coconut Babaloo, Maison Derriere or the Brown House. So if you’re hung up on it, check your inventory for one of those. If you don’t have the Coconut Babaloo or Maison Derriere it’ll take place at the Brown House.

Marge: Help, an adorable monkey snatched my handbag!
Nelson: A monkey stole my squishee!
Milhouse: This one grabbed the camera I was filming it with.
Quimby: Someone needs to take charge of these thieving monkeys!
Snake: Uh, I volunteer.

Fat Tony: Chief Wiggum, when are you going to do something about organized crime in this city? That mob of monkeys is taking over from my mob of mafiosos!

Technically the 750 SkyCredits are next….awarded at 15,449, but since that’s not a tangible gift for Springfield (just more crafting currency) the next prize we’ll cover is…

I was really pleasantly surprised to find the monkeys would not be non-playable characters. They are extra awesome and I love using them! Hilarious and the jokes have been hilarious too

I love the Monkeys, (especially Peter 😂), but wish they had at least one other outdoor task.
Anyone know what to spend the sky credits on or is there something coming up at the end?

Here is a possible solution to anyone that is struggling to move past the first part of their questline, if you played the during the 2016 Valentines event and have unlocked the Coconut Babaloo (CB) then this is the building you need placed in your towns, if its in the storage then you have to go through the entire storage without going into any sections (i.e. characters, buildings and decorations), keep scrolling until you see buildings then look for buildings beginning with ‘C’ and you should find the CB there because I think EA forgot to put this in the buildings category when it was first released. If you don’t have the CB but you have Belle and the Maison Derriere (MD) they would go there. If you have neither the CB or the MD then they should go to the Brown House instead. Hope this might help anyone finding it hard to move on through the quest. 🙂

I can’t clear the first task. I played through valentines and I’m pretty sure I got everything, but Coconut Babaloo doesn’t show up in my inventory! Really don’t want this hanging around in my game forever 🙁
Instead of arrowing back to look through buildings or decorations, scroll through your inventory on the main screen. You’ll find it! I searched and searched until I figured that out.
It says that Maison Derriere is needed to do “Steal Refreshments”, I have it but it won’t let me do the task. Every time I try to do the quesline, it sends me to my inventory.
Have you tried storing and replacing it?
Yeah, the wrong building is listed here. The Coconut Babaloo is the building needed. Placed it and the quest opened. I even did the task again, to see if they went to the Maison Derriere after the questline, but they went back to the Coconut Babaloo

Strange. Cause I stored and replaced the Maison Derriere and the brown house, neither worked. Then I saw the Coconut Babaloo in the comments here, placed it, and it worked.
How can anyone not love this?

They are now staying on my dirt roads, seems like other items in the game. Still not sure why that happens. Fun animation though
I took out my dirt roads for this very reason.
You can use plain dirt to make a road (without the sidewalks) and this won’t happen.
As I stated before, there are NO monkeys in the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
There are, however, monkeys in a specific neighborhood in Manaus, which is in the middle of the Amazonian jungle, and therefore represents an human-wildlife conflict. The people living there hang around in the monkeys’ territory. Although if you ask the people, they’ll say it’s the other way around.

Does anyone know how to clear the first task? It’s red in my taskbar, and every time I try yo do it, it takes me to my inventory? Am I missing something?
I had the same problem but figured out you need to place the Coconut Babaloo club in your Springfield. We got it during the Valentine mini quest.

I had to, we got Coconut Babaloo during the Valentine quest
Maison Derrière or Brown House should also work. I dug through my inventory four times before I realized I had to scroll through the main screen to find and place it, not the individual groups.
Should work if you don’t have Coconut Babaloo, rather. But most likely it’s hiding in your inventory and you have to use it if owned.
Is their permanent ‘steal refreshments’ task able to be done at the Coconut Babaloo or Brown House like it is during their quest-line?
