Around the World Prize Guide: Act 3, Prize 1 Painted Home

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Pack those bags and grab your boarding passes because it’s time to go Around the World with The Simpsons!  The Around the World Event is in full swing in our pocket-sized Springfields and that can only mean one thing….all new prize tracks to work our way through!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Third Act you’re tasked with collecting Brazilian Pins (ico_cur_aroundtheworld_brazilpin_lg) to unlock each prize!

The First Act 3 Prize awarded at 4,414 ico_cur_aroundtheworld_brazilpin_lg is the Painted Home, because Quimby always has an angle…

So let’s take a closer look at this first prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 4,414 ico_cur_aroundtheworld_brazilpin_lg you’ll automatically be awarded a painted home and you’ll see this message popup:

And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield immediately or store it in your inventory for later.  Remember if you store it you’ll have to go back into your inventory to retrieve it.

The Painted Home does come with some an short questline, here’s a look:

Favela Fever Pt. 1
Lisa starts

Mayor Quimby: Today we unveil the latest addition to Springfield’s BrazilWorld: favela houses.
Lisa: That’s terrible!  A favela is an urban slum with barely functional power and sewage services.
Homer: Yeah, and for that, we already have Evergreen Terrace.
Quimby: Oh, but a favela is much more colorful and cheery than that gloomy hellhole.
Build Additional Painted Houses- x3. 500 ico_cur_aroundtheworld_skycredit_lg

Favela Fever Pt. 2
Homer starts

Homer: These favela houses are pretty cool. I could get into slum living.
Apu: Yes, but they need electricity for things like A/C and cable TV.
Homer: We’ll get htem the favela way — run illegal lines from the power poles.
Apu: A few improvements and these tenements will be nicer than the average Springfield home.
Make Springfielders Install Improvements- x5. 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp Freemium and $260, 70xp Premium
Quimby:
I’ve created a lawless shanty town, whose residents mooch off the city and where police fear to tread. Pretty much like the rest of Springfield.  Vote Quimby!

Once you’ve placed the Painted Home you’ll unlock the ability to craft more.

2017-02-27-21-06-43

There are 3 different types you can craft, and each one crafted will give you 3 Painted Homes in various colors.  500 ico_cur_aroundtheworld_skycredit_lg for 3 painted homes…not too shabby.

Note: the Painted Homes do not earn income..they just look pretty.

Here are some quick facts about the Painted Home Unlocked as the prize:

painted_home_2Size: 3×4
Conform-O-Meter: Indolence +10 (Each one has the same conform-o-meter impact)
This is a decoration so it doesn’t earn income…

And there you have it, the details behind the painted home (and how to get more), the first Around the World Act 3 Prize

What’s Next?

charactersets_viciousmonkeys Vicious Monkeys- Awarded at 11,035 ico_cur_aroundtheworld_brazilpin_lg.  This will be the next prize we breakdown in the prize guide post.

  1. Okay after you have reached the end of act 3 then what I’m maxed out on the points I’ve just been sitting here for a couple days now..do I need to upgrade..it doesn’t say I need to is the game done for me hmmm

Just keep going at a pace that fits your available time & earn bonuts & extra sky credits to craft extra whatever you think you might use later 😊 At least make sure you’re clearing your pins occasionally from neighbors, or they won’t have anything to tap in your town 😊😊

  2. Josephine Kick@$$

Like candy 😂 Will craft so many I’ll probably have some in storage 😊

  3. These are pretty neat looking for actual favela houses. It certainly doesn’t look like someone could starve living in one of these. They look fancier than the Orphan Alley or Springfield Arms, at least.

  4. I didn’t like the painted houses at first, but then I started playing around with them and came up with this. :’) it’s one of my favorite spots in my springfield, which us kind of a mess right now. XP

  5. I am really hoping runway pieces will be available to buy or craft (similar to monorail pieces) after the event. I have big plans for my airport and EA better not scupper them plans with no more runway pieces available! This has been a great event though I must admit the third act quest line prizes could have been better….

  6. I think I’m going a little overboard. I’ve got all the rewards so far… And with like 6 days still left, I could easy double it I think. LOL

  7. Love the painted houses and willl have many, many, many of them in my town.

  8. When I saw this I had no doubt.

I’m buying all I can and filling up around those Springfield Heights ugly huge, non painted buildings.

I even put on “Baile de Favela” as background music.

  9. Now my Brazilian section looks Festive 👍

Still, we need more Buildings that Generate XP & $
Noobs can Craft and Improve their Vanity, Tree Hugging, Indolence (etc) quickly 👍

(Monkeys are a lol – and not NPC’s (yes!) 😅

  10. I look to all my future houses earning income in my future area and suddenly understand why those nice colorful houses don’t earn anything…
They could’ve make them expensive at last, so they could earn something.

  11. Curious little item

  12. I thought for sure the fact that you are given three houses for the price of one was a glitch so I have been crafting these like crazy because these painted house are so beautiful! i plan on building a favela with the Barra and the Churrascarias. This has been a wonderful event. I was able to earn everything on the prize tracks for the previous acts and have crafted everything. With seven days left I am looking forward to a little down time after this event but I imagine the St. Patrick’s day event will start right away. Since hitting my item limit and with the new land available I plan on drastically redesigning my town via the Nuke button but I am a little gun shy since I would hate to do that right before another event. Any suggestions on a good time to move forward?

    • My suggestion is to use the area select tool rather than the nuke button. I nuked my secondary town and it’s still kind of raggedy. It takes forever to get through the inventory, so placing everything has become a huge drag. My main town I just move stuff around in chunks, and I’m much happier with it.

  13. I got the Santa Teresa Tram last night. It doesn’t do anything but sit on land. Would’ve been nice if it moved around or could be placed on the Monorail track. Also I have a neighbor that has Norbert flying over their town in a Red Airplane. Anybody else have Norbert yet?

  14. The House sizes are 3×3, 3×4 and 3×5.

  15. I reached my build limit. Any ideas as to how and when I can build more. The entire game turned useless if I can not build some highly decorated stuff.

    • You can’t. You’ll need to store some items…

    • First thing to do is make all your buildings transparent and then store anything hidden behind them…you’ll be surprised how many pieces are hidden, yet count towards your total. Next, thin out trees, bushes, flowers and fencing…anything you can live without. If you have a large Squidport, just the fencing can probably gain you back 100 pieces. I’ve hit my max a few times and these steps have helped a lot…good luck “thinning the herd”.

      • Thanks. I’ll try that. Hope it gives me enough too implement the new items. What is weird though is that I could place newly earned items but nothing from my storage.

    • What is the build limit?

      • I believe the max items is now 9200. One thing to note – although land tiles (pavement, dirt, roads, etc.) do not count towards the item cap, bridges do. If you have bridges that are hidden, or if you can do without the railing bordering the water, you’ll find you can lower your item count by quite a bit getting rid of them.

  16. Have crafted 3 sets of each and created a Favela (inspired by the one in Rio de Janiero) just off the beach.

  17. I was somewhat disappointed in Act 3 stuff until I started crafting these houses. I really like the color and for the price they are a steal. I’ve built a whole barrio of them.

  18. Love the painted homes! Look so cool on my beach.

    • On the Beach!!! 😀😀😀 I did not know this !!!!! That’s really cool, I was putting lots of these intostorage until I could decide what to do with the rest and now you’ve inspired me to go all Favela on the Costa 🎉🎉 🎉 Muchos Gracias Amigo

    • Tiffany Penney

mine wont work on the beach 🙁

  19. I really like the prizes in this event, but I’m disappointed that so many of them are just decorations. These houses ought to earn income.

  20. So will the houses eventually earn currency?

    • Hard to say what EA will do in the future..maybe.

      • Thinking of the logic of what these buildings are I think it was deliberate that they don’t generate income…

    • The houses are listed as decorations so I’d consider that unlikely.

      • Wailing walls are decorations and they earn cash.

        • There is that. So does the Cristo statue available now. But they’re unusual. I’d consider it more likely that a multiplier gets added later. More likely, but still not very likely.

I like them though. I’ve crafted two sets of each and might pick up a third. I even have wailing walls lined up behind them so they look like they pay out – makes me feel better about the space they take up.
