A Quick Note: There’s a glitch right now for many of you with Norbert’s Plane. You’re unable to get it. There’s a thread about it here on EA’s forum and a few of you have mentioned that you’ve contacted EA about it. EA has advised some of you that they will be releasing a patch to resolve this issue. I have not spoken with EA about this, so I’m just going off of what some of y’all are telling me. My best advice is to contact EA, let them know you’re impacted as well.
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just a reminder that the Around the World Event Ends TOMORROW March 7th. (I just realized I made an error on my time from yesterday, it appears it ends at 9am ET, 2pm GMT)
This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won will remain. (so Tiago, Sakatumi etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything.
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 7th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 7th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
So tap those last few tourists and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.
Additional note:
Some of you are asking what you should craft with all of your extra crafting currency. There’s no magic item to craft. There’s no way of knowing what EA might make premium in the future, with a bonus %. Best advice I can give you is craft at least one of everything. If there’s something you think you could use in a particular design (like Taxi Cabs, Life Guard Tower, Trees or Flowers) craft a bunch of them and stick them in storage.
If you feel like you’ve crafted everything you want, then it’s ok to not use all of your crafting currency. Just because you have it doesn’t mean you need to spend it.
A few others asked me about which gives the most XP when placed in Springfield…it appears as if each item (you can craft multiples of) gives you 100xp when placed in Springfield. So there’s no item that gives you more of an advantage.

Bit disappointing that the planes and airport stuff can’t be placed on the runways. Lot of wasted space there. 🙁
Two planes together on the runway caused 583 casualties on Tenerife in 1977. I remember it vividly, because an acquaintance died in it. 🙁

So I finally got Norbert but had to use donuts to speed up the airport tasks.
Dialogue wasn’t as funny as Sci-fi or Pagan event, but prizes and crafting were great. They added unique areas to my Springfield and we finally got an airport. The game mechanics made it easy to get all the freemium prizes and we were compensated when servers went down.
Overall, a solid event. Maybe we will get a mini-St.Patrick’s event next week?
Nice surprise to discover that the lifeguard tower could be place on Squidport so I crafted a few extras.
Thanks for the heads-up… I crafted 5-10 to put on the beach, sort of like Baywatch (which I’ve never seen, but whatever, lol).
Is anyone having issues getting the train? Does the train look like the picture? So confused. I completed all the event tasks and character tasks, but I have no train. I did get a notification about it, but I was half asleep and now there is no train in my twin or my storage 🙁 Any advice ?
Did you complete all of Norbert’s tasks? Go to the lost luggage section and complete those…

I hope that Japanese tourist becomes available after the event is over. He reminds me of the Mikado in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado. I usually don’t get the NPC’s afterwards but for this I’d make an exception.
Sometimes EA does make those event NPC’s available for donuts, some EA doesn’t. I hope EA does it now. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 🤞
The Norbert glitch worked itself out in my B-town. Even though the third prize yesterday showed only lost luggage, I was awarded the red plane with Norbert at the end of it. Golden train will soon follow, after I finish the short questline.
This event is finishing at just the right time for me, not too long or too short.
However doesn’t the airport use up a lot of space !!!
Been a lot of fun though piecing it together & we all have some great new characters to take forward in our games. Nicely done EA.
I agree…uses a lot of land and the area I’m building in is pricey! Would like option to purchase more landing strip units (and not for donuts LOOOL)
I was also missing the train/plane. Somebody suggested storing the retirement castle/grandpa and logging in and out of the game, then placing the castle/grandpa again. It makes the plane tasks become synchronised if you were having the 2 different tasks problem. It’s not an instant fix. You still have to finish all 3 tasks, or the remaining 2 or 1 if you were already in the middle of a task.
I had to rush the final task with doughnuts before the timer reset, as well as Norbets tasks after I placed him so that I could get the golden train because I’m not going to be able to log in again until the event is over.
I had to blindly spend donuts too, hoping it would magically unlock glitchy Norbert and his train. To my surprise, it did! Glad my game hasn’t updated yet!
I’ve enjoyed this event very much and I haven’t once felt bored or burnt out. I think EA did a nice job with this one.
Who know what is the next event ?
Finally! Finally.. with only hours left in the event, I got the Norbert plane! I was one of those affected by the bug of it not being awarded after completing the tasks. I had added myself to the EA thread about it in their forum and contacted them as well about it by leaving a bug report. Still, I played today without any signs of it being awarded and then suddenly tonight to my surprise, even though it was not showing up as the award, I was awarded it.
Now that the event is coming to a close, I need to consolidate my two airports. The one I had created myself prior to the event using makeshift buildings and planes and now the new one from this event.
I love some of the items that this event brought to us. Especially the cycles (bicycle and motorcycles), planes, and taxi cab as well as few more varieties of trees.
I was very frustrated with the event over the Norbert Plane bug, but I am pleased I was finally able to get it.
Not sad.
Still have about 1500 more pins to go! The daily challenge today was 6 plane tickets, so I can get at least a few more pins! I am also crafting the last of the trees for my mini-Amazon rainforest in my Brazil World.
Contacted EA about the Norbert plane glitch and left message on forum – got a call back – said unfortunately there was nothing they can do about it, trying to work as fast as they can – it’s a known bug. Ok, well, we have 13 hours left and if I played this whole event not to get at least Norbert, that would suck.
You’ll get him eventually for sure. I didn’t get Zutroy because of a bug like this in the 2015 Christmas event. It took me 6 months to notice a friend got him and that I missed out cause of the glitch. I called EA (when I could actually call them instead of waiting for a email reply) and told them I didn’t get him after completing all the daily challenges so they looked into my game and later gave me Zutroy.
So even if EA doesn’t figure it out before the event ends I’m certain you’ll still get Norbert and the plane at some point but you may need to contact them to do it.
