From the Mouths of Addicts: Main Event Runner Up Event Ideas

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

While we’re waiting on the “next big thing” to hit TSTO, I thought now would be a good time to take a look at some of the Main Event Contest submissions from those who didn’t make the Top 10 finalists.

Everyone did such a great job with their entries & so many people came up with great ideas that they’re definitely worth sharing!  Plus, I figured EA could always use a little more inspiration!

While I can’t promise I’ll be able to post all of the qualifying entries, I’ll do my best to post 5 or so whenever we have some downtime.  So enjoy these 5 event ideas and who knows, we may be seeing one of these next in TSTO!

As we did with the finalists, I’ll post links to the entries…

In no particular order

Love the “Fish Called Selma” idea with Troy McLure and the Planet of the Apes The Musical tie-in. “The Mapple Wore Mencae Shoes” is also a favorite of mine w/ Steve Mobbs’ underwater lair (placed in the ocean only). Great premium ideas for both.

  2. Glad to know at least a few people liked my idea.

  3. Time warped, really liked the dialog and it would not take too much for EA to do it………

  4. Military event has started and tourists are back in the store.

  5. Maddiethecool101

Update just hit with new mini event. 😄

  6. I would like to see a “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” event. That was one of the most iconic stories in the history of The Simpsons. It could be a mystery event where you must gather clues — which would make it even more intriguing.

The twist could be someone or something other than Maggie being the shooter.

  7. I assume that the items we currently have in our krustyland count towards the overall number of items we have towards the cap?

  8. Alissa, the Pacific Northwest has to do with the early days of the Republic. After the Revolutionary War, the territory of the fledgling nation was expanded from the Appalachians to the Mississippi River, as part of the Treaty of Paris. The land that would become the states of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin was known as the Northwest Territories. That’s why Northwestern University is in the heart of Chicago, hardly the Northwest now, but then it was.
I think that our usage of the Pacific Northwest stems from that time. After all, as early as the Voyage of Discovery it was thought that the “Pacific Northwest” was part of our territory.

  9. Why I love non-event weeks – 5 railyard bonuts in 14 hours!

I ws not expecting it!! I was a finalist (Screaming Yellow Honkers)! I wish we got some prize, but I don’t care, I was here!

  11. Not much happening right now, so was playing around with the pier entrance in SH…never liked it as a pier and had it pushed over to the side (why it can’t be stored is a mystery). Decided to give it an alternate life as a restaurant…

  12. I am slowly going through them. Pureval’s storyline was very well-done! I just started thinking we need to do Stonecutters again because I am missing quite a few, and most of the characters that have Stonecutters skins use them in my town. Also, last night I told my husband that we need more to do in Krustyland. I don’t understand why we can’t make in-game cash, like at the stores or at the enterance. More rides would be nice, too. Nice job, Pureval.

    • Well, you can make in game cash. You just have to collect tickets and then take the extra step of converting them into cash at the entrance. Not sure why they even bother with a separate currency if they’re not going to give us more to buy with tickets, other than they don’t want to recode everything in KL to pay out cash.

  13. Interesting idea’s. Oo.

And there’s an update for Tapped Out in my App Store. It obviously ain’t the take down update, got that. Anyone know what’s it about ???

    • If you’re iOS or Kindle it’s to get you “up to speed” with Android…

      • Thank you.

And I’m so sorry, I know you mean well but when someone make’s this mistake I can’t help but to give them the proper info – I have a Fire Tablet, which is not a Kindle. When Amazon revamped their Tablet’s a couple year’s ago they dropped the name Kindle from all of their Fire Tablet’s.

Kindle Fire HDX became Fire HDX. Kindle Fire HD became Fire HD. Kindle Fire became Fire Tablet.

I originally had a Kindle Fire HDX but it was stolen. Went almost a year without Tapped Out, was so bored. But I was given a Fire Tablet as 2015 Christmas Gift.

There are still Kindle’s out there but my Fire Tablet, nor any kind of Fire Tablet, is not associated with Kindle.

So in future your response could be iOS, or Kindle, or Fire. I say could because I have no right telling you what to do. I am merely giving you info and making a suggestion.

        • how about i drop it all together and just say Amazon? Since Android and iOS refer to the platform, not the specific device. Otherwise I’d have to name every single Android device out there and every single iOS device out there.

        • Where are you setting this name change? When I look at My “Your Devices” page on Amazon, My Kindle Fire HD (original version) is still listed in the “Type” column as “Kindle Fire HD.” Perhaps they’ve changed the nomenclature for more recently released devices, but this doesn’t appear to be a retroactive change. In fact, calling them just “Fire” seems confusing, since I have a Fire TV Stick as well.

Where are you seeing this name-change info? Just curious….

          • Sorry, should have mentioned this – The change does effect any device put out before the name drop, so if you have a Kindle Fire HD then you have a Kindle Fire HD. If my Kindle Fire HDX had not been stolen then I’d currently have a Kindle Fire HDX.

Here’s where anyone can see the name change info.

            re
The Kindle Fire is a tablet computer developed by Amazon.com. Built with Quanta Computer, the Kindle Fire was first released in November 2011, featuring a color 7-inch multi-touch display with IPS technology and running a custom version of Google’s Android operating system called Fire OS. The Kindle Fire HD followed in September 2012, and the Kindle Fire HDX in September 2013. In September 2014, when the fourth generation was introduced, the adjective “Kindle” was dropped. In September 2015, the fifth generation Fire 7 was announced, starting at US$49.99, followed by the sixth generation Fire HD 8, in September 2016, at US$89.99.

In September 2014, the Fire HDX 8.9 and the Fire HD were upgraded to the fourth generation of Fire tablets, removing the “Kindle” adjective in the naming scheme.[23] There was also the Fire HD 6 that has a six-inch screen with a quad-core processor priced at US$99.[24]

  14. Oh, Guru Alissa who sees all future events…
when do you thick we’ll get something?

Ps. Time warped would be fun. We already warped to the future. Let’s be contrarian. Or maybe mouvementarian? 🙂

    • I’ve had a few people ask me this. At this point EA’s thrown me for a loop. (which I think that’s their intention to keep everyone on their toes) I thought we’d see St. Pats today and have that last 2 weeks and lead right into the next BIG event starting end of March and lasting through April. But at this rate I’m not quite sure what they’re planning….

We’re all on our toes 🙂

      • Always better to keep interesting, huh?

This will make it the first time Alissa-Guru-San didn’t predict the date perfectly.
Bad EA. For breaking a flawless run. 😉

        • lol in fairness, I didn’t make an official prediction. 😉
I’ve still got some thoughts on what they’re doing. Mostly, from what I know from gaming houses….based on the fact that iOS and Kindle had updates in the last day…to get them “up to speed” with Android. I think EA was waiting till those updates rolled out (because even though you have an idea, you’re never 100% certain what time an update will hit the app store) and they were 100% sure they were good, to release the next update. So I think we’ll see something tomorrow… let’s see if I’m right 🙂

          • Ok. That answers that.
So, you may be unblemished in predictions-run.
Fingers crossed for you. It’s quite the thing to put on your resume. 😉

Enjoy your evening on the east side of the continent. We finally have some sun in the Pacific Northwest.

            • You know, I always wondered why that side of the country is called the Pacific Northwest, but my side is just the Northeast. Not the Atlantic Northeast… Why not just call it the Northwest? We don’t call states south of there the Pacific Southwest…

Like I get that Pacific implies that it’s the states by the Ocean (Washington/Oregon), but on this side we just use Northeast and it’s the whole area…including states that aren’t near the ocean.

              Just something to think about…lol

        • Looks like my initial instincts were correct, EA just pushed the red button at a much later hour than normal. Looks like 2 weeks of this then we’re into the next big event…

  15. Now I really want the balloon costume for Krabappel

  16. Since Krustyland has hit a brick wall, and there are no future prospects for updates to this isolated area – why not scrap it? Don’t get me wrong – for those who’ve invested donuts (or hours of purchases + configuring your KL to your specific liking) why not: a) keep these items b) have them registered into your inventory for later use or c) give cash / donut equivalent of purchased items.

Let’s face it – Krustyland is dead. It’s doing worse than our favourite entertaining clowns career (“oy!”). Put it to rest.

In its place – I propose the creation/event of “Itchy and Scratchy Land”. For many die-hard fans this is a beloved episode. From the murderous robots, useless “Itchy & Scratch dollars” to the novelty “Bort” license plates.

This kind of event, could not only replace Krustyland, but give fans the opportunity to keep an “amusement park” style of area in their perspective Springfields, but simultaneously make it easier for games designers/creators to offer niche items.

The event practically writes itself in terms of prizes: rides, attractions, I&SL characters/mascots. Collecting rewards via tapping murderous I&SL robots, “it’s a small world” slave labor children, etc.

All of these items combining in efforts to make Itchy & Scratchy Land safe and habitable for future Springfield residences + rejueventing the almost antiquated Krustyland area because – let’s be honest – it sucks worse than Krusty’s own material.

Also, that or something to do with Mr. Burns blocking out the sun and the whole “who done it” episode with *OMG SPOILER* Maggie pumping Mr. Burns full of lead.

    Thanks and keep Tapping!

    • I prefer the idea of taking all items and making it so they can go in either Krustyland or Springfield. I’d rather make my own amusement park in my Springfield. Itchy & Scratchy Land would be great but again in my Springfield. I really don’t like the idea of having two areas. Doesn’t feel like the same game.

      • I agree…if they’re not going to do anything at Krustyland, let us pull the items we want into Springfield. Some of the decorations (green beer fountain, the whole pink decor collection and heart shape ponds) are already able to cross the border…why not all of it?

  17. Some interesting ideas. I love the Fish Called Selma idea. I really think someday Phil Hartman’s characters will be introduced. Just don’t expect them to be voiced.
The only thing I didn’t like was an entire act centered around Krustyland. If EA wants to throw the fans of that gawd awful expansion a bone and add a new ride, fine but I don’t know if I could tolerate a hole act in that awful place.

  18. When are we going to get new task nothing doing since last update.

  19. I would love a Battle of the Monsters event. An opportunity to win some larger than normal characters to roam around Springfield.

    Bartzilla v Homer Kong!
