Should I Spend Donuts On Leopold and the Enriched Learning Center?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The military event, long teased in the app store descriptions, as finally hit our towns and the kids of Springfield are about to get schooled at the finest Military Academy virtual money can buy…in Springfield.  Yes, Rommelwood Academy is here with all the drills, in your face spitting yelling and military inspired premium items our pocket-sized Springfields (and wallets) can handle.

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Leopold and the Enriched Learning Center to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this classic bracket battle tested character to your Springfield…

Decoration/Building: Enriched Learning Cneter
Character: Leopold
Donut Price: 125 Dounts
Earns: $200, 22xp/8hrs

Conform-O-Meter: Obedience +20

Leaves Stores March 28th

Pros
-Will help with the event, earns double the coins as regular characters
-Voiced
-Fun outdoor (visual) tasks
-Classic character from The Simpsons
-Will use the Learning Center for one of his tasks

Cons
-Questline is pretty short (only 3 parts)
-His 4hr task requires Chalmers

Final Thought
Premium:
Premium players, this isn’t a bad buy.  He’s a classic character, voiced, comes with a building, and is reasonably priced.  If you’re looking for a new character to pick up this is a good one to grab.

Freemium:
So Leopold is really the only new character offered for this mini event.  He’s offered at a reasonable price, not a great price but still resasonable. So if you’re looking for a character pickup this may be your best bet.  But he’ll be around till the event ends (and you don’t need him to finish the event)  so make sure you don’t want any of the St. Paddy items first.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ll likely pick this one up.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores next week.  So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Here’s a look at Leopold’s tasks…

Leopold’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Give Menacing Introduction 1hr $105, 26xp Springfield Elementary
Shadow Chalmers 4hrs $435, 115xp Springfield High School Requires Chalmers
Intimidate Children 8hrs $420, 105xp Enriched Learning Center
Seize the Day 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual
Cross Stitch 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Outside/Visual

What are your thoughts on Leopold?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Where have you placed the Learning Center in your Springfield? What were some of your reasons for picking it up or passing? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Leopold and the Enriched Learning Center is a bargain at 125 Donuts (and Leopold is voiced – yay!) … Building is HUGE – but goes swell in your Springfield School District 👍🤗

I wish EA would unlock more Characters for Krustyland

  2. Thank goodness I checked this page first. I wouldn’t have minded getting Leopold, but I generally shun characters with joint tasks for their 1,4 and 8 hour tasks.

It’s not so much as having a joint task itself that’s the problem, but I send Chalmers to the Springfield Bowl’s hourly task, as it makes nearly as much as a 4-hour task. Being forced to stick Leopold to 8-hour tasks or taking Chalmers away the Bowl are equally bad choices IMO.

I’m hoping in the near future EA will patch the newer characters to have individual indoor tasks like when they introduced the unemployment office’s mass assign feature.

  3. The Flying Hellfish is coming… 😀

  4. Cheryl Johnson

I looked in my inventory yesterday and found the KTV building. I have no idea where it came from. Did I miss something?

  5. I’m kinda waiting to see what the hellfish deal is going to be. Probably won’t splurge for Leopold AND something big for that.

  6. Leopold hasn’t made many appearances in the show…but those times he has have been WONDERFUL, and I’ve rewatched those clips several times over the course of the past couple of days. I might have considered buying him even if I hadn’t become a KEM-farmer and gotten donut-wealthy.

  7. If I can figure out where to place that building, I’ll get it.

  8. Had to grab him “Hey you wanna know how I got these scars”

    Heath Ledger

got him right away with the tourists. been looking at the tank and cruise missile but I kinda like some of the upcoming stuff

  10. Dang, I can’t decide between this and FINALLY getting Duffman.

    • The deal on Duffman is pretty sweet, and he’s a more important character and it’s a more important building. The only thing going for getting Leopold is that he’s a limited-time offer. So, if you think you’d really come to regret passing on him, then get him, as long as you’d be good with potentially spending a lot more on Duffman later (and not getting Lady Duffman, but I don’t think that’s all that great).

    • Duffman is here, to refill your beer!

      • Not anymore 🙁 The timer said I had two days left but now he’s gone. I was going to grab him after finishing the rail yard in the morning.

  11. My donut supply is low and Though it’s a reasonable price there are are more unreleased characters that I keep hoping for. So I’m going to talk myself out of this by explaining that the enriched school should come with a different character, not him.

  12. Bought him right away! Great character, fun new building. I love everything about it!

  13. Fun character

  14. I’ve got a question. Few days ago, when I started TSTO on my phone, the game started to download pretty big ammount of data and when it finaly loaded, whole game screen was zoomed out (I could see bigger part of my Springfield at once), including the icons (task book, money, donuts etc), which were a lot smaller. I thought that was wierd (and maybe even better than before), but the next day it went back to normal.
Yesterday it again started downloading a bunch of data, but what happend was the opposite – now my Springfield is zoomed in. I don’t think the icons are inlarged, but I really hate it and was wondering if it has happened to anybody else because I really don’t understand what’s happening.

    Please help?

    • You might try to uninstall the game then reinstall it, or try to reset your device. Your best bet would be to contact EA if you’re still having problems. I hope you’ll get your game back up and running smoothly.

Apple updated a few days ago, and my Iphone locked up while playing twice. Just close all aps and shut it down (power off) and restart no problems since.

  15. Listen up you little FREAKS…..

  16. I don’t think Chalmers has any premium tasks, does he? If not, $217 each for a 4-hour task is pretty good, isn’t it? I am always looking for premium skins for the characters I already have, so I might buy Leopold for that.

  17. It’s annoying that he needs Chalmers for his 4h task. Please EA, give everyone a solo 1, 4, 8, 12, and 24h job! Hopefully he’ll be able to go on flights (I haven’t had a chance to check). That’s what I do with Sophie when I send everyone on 4h jobs.

    • David that is brilliant! I had just been doing Sophie’s 2h when everyone else is on 4h, had not even occured to me to send her on a flight. I used to do something similar with SVT before I had the Aztec, I would send him to nightmare pile to wear a costume. Only problem is that task can’t be rushed. I agree that every character should have a solo job for each time.

      • I saw others mention it but what makes the flight task really good is that not only can it be rushed, it shows up in the job manager as another character on a 4h task. So you can rush it with the rest of your characters, which I do when I can.

      • When they brought in the job management function at the Unemployment Office EA went to a lot of trouble to ensure nobody just had a core job that involved another character. They added of new tasks in one update. It’s so irritating to see them undermine that now time and time again.

  18. I got him almost immediately, since he’s a classic character from the golden era. Price is reasonable. Sadly his outside tasks are 12hrs and 24hrs, so i won’t see him a lot, as I currently mostly use the 4 and 8hrs tasks.

  19. I bought him before I read this post because I thought the price was good for a building and character combination.

  20. Leopold should be a permanent character

  21. Well i dont know what to buy
If the plane, the patrick box or the guy of the big tree episode
I have 80 donuts so i want that guy
But i can get a character in the box
And can get class coins with the plane
    (Im in outfit part)

    • Don’t get the plane just because it earns coins…EA sets these events hip so that, with some diligent tapping, you should be able to complete the prize track without buying any premium items. If you want the plane because you like it, then that’s a better argument for getting it.

Jesse (i’m assuming that’s the “big tree guy” you’re referring to) is very handy to have if you do the rail yard/recycling tasks each week, but not essential for getting this completed, now that the number of blueprints you need to earn in a week is so low.

As for the St. Patrick’s Day mystery box, it kinda depends on how many items are in yours for which you’d be happy to have spent 80 donuts.

But a voiced premium-earning character (who also happens to earn coins, and at a premium rate) with an income-earning building for $125 donuts is a pretty good deal, so you might just want to go with the deal that this post was about….

      • Sandra, I agree with everything you said. The training plane does look like a pretty good buy though. It has 3.5% bonus and earns cash/xp plus has an animated job for Bart & Lisa.

    • the plane takes a LONG time to generate coins, I think the wait time in between in 12 or 24 hours. You would be better off getting Leopold and sending him to earn coins every 3 hours.

      • I agree…for coins, Leopold is a better investment., but that is only a plus during the event. If you’re looking at XP value (and I always am), go with the plane (it also has a funny visual task for Bart and Lisa together).
