Should I Spend Donuts On the Training Plane?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The military event, long teased in the app store descriptions, as finally hit our towns and the kids of Springfield are about to get schooled at the finest Military Academy virtual money can buy…in Springfield.  Yes, Rommelwood Academy is here with all the drills, in your face spitting yelling and military inspired premium items our pocket-sized Springfields (and wallets) can handle.

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Training Plane to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this blade spinner to your Springfield…

Decoration/Building: Training Plane
Donut Price: 75 Dounts
Earns: 20 , 30xp/12hrs (Earns $300, 30xp/12hrs when you’re done with coins)
Bonus %: 2.5% bonus on all cash and XP
Size: 8×8
Conform-O-Meter: Obedience +10

Leaves Stores March 28th

Pros
-Will help with the event, plane pays out coins every 12hrs
-Permanent, animated, task for Lisa and Bart
-Comes with a bonus %, nice add on for a decoration that has a task and pays out coins.

Cons
-Task requires both Lisa AND Bart (visible in Lisa’s task list). You can’t just send one.
-It is another plane for Springfield, and we just finished an event with loads of planes

Final Thought
Premium:
I like this one.  The fact that it pays out coins is nice, but not necessary to complete the event on time.  I like that fact that it’s a military style plane and fill fit nicely with military base designs for Springfield. And the added bonus of a 1hr task there for Bart and Lisa is nice.  I’d say if you have a design idea in mind, pick this one up,

Freemium:
So this is one of those decorations freemium players should pickup if they like it and have a use for it.  It’s got a lot of positives and is a decent buy.  So if you’ve got a use for it, or think you will in the near future, pick this one up.  BUT don’t buy it just because it pays out coins.  Not even remotely needed for this event, and takes forever to collect the coins. (You’re better off buying Leopold if you’re worried about getting more coins).

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ve already picked this one up.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores next week.  So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

Here’s a look at the questline that pops up:

I’ll Be Your Wingman
Auto start

Bart: Skinner’s going easy on you ’cause you’re a giiiiirl!
Lisa: Nuh-uh! He’s going easy on me because I’m a suck-up. It’s favoritism, not sexism.
Bart:Skinner doesn’t give me any breaks. He even took the brakes out of this plane.
Make Bart and Lisa Face the Training Plane- 1hr, Earns $210, 52xp
Bart & Lisa: Okay, we give up. You win.
Lisa: This must be what it’s like to be a teddy bear in the dryer.

What are your thoughts on the Training PLane?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield? What were some of your reasons for picking it up or passing? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’m an aero geek, so even though I just snatched up every aircraft from the travel event, I picked up this one too. I really like the animation with Lisa and Bart, and it looks good at my airport.

  2. What does the plane payout after coins are done? Please and thank you.

  3. I think I have enough planes already, so will pass on this one. Best to save up since I don’t KEM farm yet and do not have enough in game cash for the other farming method.

  4. My son’s an airman loading C-130s. You bet I got it.

  5. Oh boy, another large plane. I’ll try to contain my excitement. At lest this one has animation.

  6. This plane reminds me of B17 Flying Fortress. The idea of the action coming from such bombers filled me with excitement. The movie Unbroken has an aerial scene

  7. Brought it. 🙂

At this point I’m sayin planes means playin.

  8. I’m a pilot. This is an airplane. You danged straight I bought it!!! 😀

    • I’m a pilot, but I’m passing. Tired of these planes, and especially the borders around them (lights, etc.) In this case, it isn’t so bad, because if it’s on static display at the school, that would actually make sense. Still, I’m low on donuts and have other priorities. Maybe someday though.

  9. Fun visual task, I’ll just have to remind myself to do it every once in awhile since I rarely do 1h jobs anymor, but still. Pays out cash after finishing the event and has a bonus. Great buy in my opinion! 😀

  10. IRL, they’d be killed almost instantly from such g-forces.

  11. I mentioned this elsewhere, but it irritates me that the propellers aren’t counterrotating. On a multi-engine aircraft, the engines on each wing should turn in the opposite direction to those on the other wing to neutralize the torque. Only RAF kept the propellers spinning all the same direction, saying that it was on the pilots to account for the effect it had on their navigation. (At least, that’s how I’ve always understood it.)

  12. Finally broke 200% with the new bonus on the Plastic Prison and Attack Helicopter!

  13. Addicts, i call for your help! Should I get the plane or Patricks day box (all possible items is in it) OR just save my donuts for later? Thanks in advance

    • Anytime you get income and xp% bonus off an item, I say go for it…the plane wins. Besides, we all have these nice new airports to fill up…

  14. Nope. Saving for other items on my wish list.
Already accumulated coins required and sent Lisa on her third 12 hour bought on the aerial. Probably stop ✋ then.
Got a second training dummy ( already had one for ages)
Then got another bomb shelter (already had ~7, from what I know not)
Unless this next “prize” is fantastic, gonna return to letting Lisa earn $$$$$

    • Just like the Rocket Launch Pad, one possible prize is a Miniature Nuclear Warhead (2,25% bonus for XP/$, worth 45 donuts in the store). Odds to get Warhead seems to be much better than with Launch Pad, at 25%.

Other prizes are Bomb Shelter, Training Dummy and a handful of Chain Link Fences.

      (source: some other site)

      • Well, then, it’s worth filling my inventory with useless stuff if I can possibly be awarded “bonus xp” items
        Thanksmareagle and david

        • Plus, they don’t have to clutter your inventory! Since they are regularly-available items, you can sell the Training Dummies, Chain Link Fences & Bomb Shelters! 😀 Sure, it’s not a ton of money, but every bit is helpful & most importantly – you don’t have to have 3 more items clogging your inventory!

BTW, you likely got the Bomb Shelters from opening Mystery Boxes, either from purchasing them directly or earning them via the daily task thingy that helps you earn donuts for completing various numbers of tasks. 😊

      • Really?? I’m so frustrated that I still haven’t gotten one of those nukes from the rocket, so maybe I’ll give Lisa a few nights to see if she can bring me one of those. Otherwise, it’s back to doing her glorious balance beam routine!

P.S. Are you sure it’s the one that earns bonus % and not the freemium one?

        • Well Sandra, I’m not 100% sure until I see it with my own eyes. Hence the disclaimer about my source. 🙂 But it seems that the Warhead really is the bonus-giver, just like the one you get from Launch Pad. Or should I say “will get”. One day. Trust yourself.

    • Lisa earns $$$$$ while on the task, plus what you win can be sold back for even more $$$$. Normally I’d keep her in a premium skin, but she’ll earn more for me conquering the eliminator. Also, there is an item with a bonus as a possible prize. I won it last night. 😀

      • Hmm…hadn’t thought about selling stuff back…good point!

I think it’s time that I look through my inventory and sell off a bunch of stuff I don’t need (and that I could repurchase if, for some reason, I come to regret selling it).

  15. Josephine Kick@$$

To me it was a must buy, & I just finished the task with Bart & Lisa… 😂Happy it’s a permanent task & an outside 1 hr task… bonus % is decent, to me a win-win purchase 😊

  16. One word…….HILARIOUS!!!! Love the animation

  17. I got this and have no regrets, love the task it has for Lisa and Bart.

  18. alex - aabcampos2

    Ola!

How long is the Bart/Lisa task ? It pays premium ?

  19. Would be nice to have a Hellfire Museum to put all the planes and tanks around.

  20. I think having Bart and Lisa together on a visible job together is a plus (and it’s a fun animation). Also, it pays $600/day! Not many new items coming out for more than $400. This and the Alien Hangar are my favorite parts of this mini-game.

    • How do you calculate your “per day”? 24 x the one-hour task? Or do you do it based on actual playing time (i.e. exclude sleep time, etc.)?

  21. The traint plane Goes Well with airplane museum next to my airport.
