Back with another Rommelwood Prize breakdown. This time we’re breaking down the third prize (the Barracks), the sleeping quarters of Rommelwood Academy…important because Lisa needs to listen to those cassette tapes from Marge somewhere. (plus I like dating myself by saying cassette tapes…ah the 90s!)
Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes. For each of the parts of the Left, Right, Left questline you’ll have to earn 
via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.
Let’s take a look at the details of the third prize, the Rommelwood Barracks. What it does and how you unlock it…

How You Unlock It: Left, Right, Left Pt. 3….
Make Bart Write an Essay on Cruel and Unusual Punishment- 3hrs, Earns 10 , 35xp
Collect Class Coins- x350
Size: 7×6
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Indolence +10
Earns: $90,10xp/4hrs
What Does It Do: During the questline (prize track) Lisa will have a task there, so if you’re stuck on part of the prize track questline (and it says you don’t have the required building..or something to that effect) check to make sure you’ve build the Barracks…and cleared the check mark. Always important to make sure you clear that check mark.
Task: Once you unlock her, Cadet Lisa will have a 1hr task there (Earns $70, 17xp), Militant Bed Making
What Next?: Once you’ve unlocked the Barracks as a prize you’ll unlock the ability to purchase more in the store, for donuts of course. 35 donuts will buy you another Barrack (70 will buy you 2 more 😉 )..then you can separate the boys from the girls. Or the students in general from Lisa…
Should You Buy More?: Depends on what you want to do with them. They only earn cash and XP and at 35 donuts a pop they aren’t a cheap way of farming…
So if you like them and need more for your design pick up another one or two. If the 1 free one will suffice for you then don’t. Personally I picked up two more (so I have 3 total in my Rommelwood area)… Bet you didn’t think this post was going to turn into a math lesson, now did you?
As far as Cassette Tapes go…well for those that don’t remember the 90s (or earlier) they looked like this:
And often contain comforting words of wisdom from Marge, especially when you’re all alone…

Want to feel dated? I miss reel to reel and eight track tapes! Ask Cranky, he’ll remember the good ol’ days. He might even still use reel to reel.

The reel to reel does remember me to an incident where I dropped a 10.5 inch computer tape. It rolled off quite a long way before it stopped. I had to roll the tape back by hand. The radiologist said: “That will teach you! 😡Next time you will be more careful

When I was an undergrad, one of the maintenance hallways in one of the engineering buildings was used as a junkyard, and there were a lot of reel-to-reels piled up among the debris. I really wish I’d taken some.
Come on… We’re not that old, youngsters know what cassettes are (thanks to guardians of the galaxy mostly).
I bought another one of those items, because there were two barracks in the episode.

Normally I’m not big on having more than 1 of anything in my town but plain looking as they are there’s something I like about them so thinking about picking up two more.
Side note I can’t believe I haven’t finished the event yet. Odd for me, I only played twice yesterday, resting up before the next big thing.
OT, I know. Super bummed, finally got some time to finish my Japantown and all 80 of my red and pink trees are nowhere to be found. First time ever losing inventory (I think) and they’re in my top 5 trees attainable thus far. Curse you EA 😡. Highly doubt I’ll contact them as it just sounds like the weirdest thing to ask for.

Those trees s are there. Just click the “Use” button. For some Flanders reason the Japanese trees have no image in the inventory.

Hopefully EA has the images up soon 😊 Mine are between the jack-o-lanterns & large hedges under the nature tab 😊
Since space is always an issue in my town, the whole Rommelwood grouping will probably get stored when the next event starts. Will keep the hanger (love the 👽) and the training plane at the airport, but the rest…meh. The tank could go to Herman, I guess, he would be thrilled 😃.
Those barracks remind me of my compulsory military service. Not a nice time, to say it politely. It is the first time that I contemplate to store a building indefinitely. Too many bad memories.
