The spies are invading Springfield! Yes, the Secret Agent update has hit our games. We’ve got hacking, drones, dossiers and a shrinking donut bank account because there are LOADS of spy items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Camera Hat Homer? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this investigative Homer to your Springfield…

Premium:
It’s a fun costume for Homer, but Homer already has a million costumes (including loads of premium ones). While this costume can earn currency at the HQ, Homer already earns currency at the HQ. While not at a premium rate, like Camera Hat Homer would, regular (free) Homer earns 40/hr hrs. So Camera Hat Homer is completely unnecessary to succeed in the event.
That all being said…it is a costume from a classic episode. Who can forget, “who needs the Kwik-E-Mart?” (bet it’s stuck in your head now). So if you’ve got fond memories of this episode and have the donuts to spend, go for it. Otherwise pass.
Freemium:
Freemium players, you should pass on this one. Not worth spending those hard earned donuts on this (or any) stand alone costume. Pass.

I bought him so that I could have the bonus payout to catch up for the event since I was behind (still am slightly behind, currently 18.9k intel) but I think the questline will be fun at end of the event. Something to remember as one commenter said before, you need to make sure homer has the outfit equipped before sending him on the intel mission, or else it will send him on the generic 40 intel quest. I know I had to spend 4 donuts resetting it twice.
I bought him right away, no regrets & I can’t wait to finish his storyline once this event is over 😊
In my list of characters at the HQ Homer shows up twice when you buy the costume, and both icons show Camera Hat Homer! And I regularly tap the wrong one because he is first in the list. As soon as he is on task the icon changes to regular Homer, and I am out another 20 Intel for the next 4 hours.
Lame… Lame, lame, lame, lame, lameiserables, lame!! It’s just Homer with a big hat. Couldn’t they have at least changed his clothes to make it more unique? Or just made that a set of tasks? Last time we had such a bad skin was with “Pin collecting Lisa”, who had only one playable task and was basically her with a jacket. And this one was free… Sorry for the rant/overreaction and the bad pun up there.
What season/episode did Homer wear this hat again? I’d like to rewatch it 😊
If I had enough sprinkles I’d definitely have got this skin as it just looks so funny and absurd! The only downside to Homer skins, and perhaps most skins is that I forget to use them!

Tempting to get since it’s part of a character collection, but since there are so many other characters in that collection I have no idea if I’ll get or not, I’m not sold on a skin.
That’s not a good reason. The reward of completing a group is the number of characters times 250 game cash. MEH!!!
In the Family Guy game you get 5 clams for each member as reward (clams are the premium currency in that game, as donuts is here in TSTO). YEAH!!!!!

Homer getting chased by bees while wearing a big hat…what’s not to love? I constantly on his task to get chased. Now if they’d make the task at that stadium made of hives permanent.
At 50 sprinkles it’s a much better deal than the Hank Scorpio skin rip off.
I bought both. Hank Scorpio is my favorite villain and Homer wears a ten gallon hat 😀

I agree 100%. I’m just one of those people who buys everything the second it’s available. I’ve spent more actual money on this game than I can bear to think about.
When they first started bringing back limited time characters at a discount I felt cheated. Not for long though as I realized the idea of buying a two year old TV on sale is cool so I really didn’t care.
120 for a skin though. It feels like punishment for me buying him before the days of doughnut farming, find Maggie, monorail doughuts. Back in the days when you had to actually pay for pixels.
I don’t care if they give the bundle to people who don’t have him for 25 doughnuts. For those that paid full price for him, 120 is WAY too much for a skin and a forgettable balloon.
I have like 20 skins for Homer. Pass.

It’s not just you, the payout for schematics is extremely low…
The pay out is low right now. Keep in mind this is a 41 day event. The earnings will progress as you play the event. If you take a look at the Act 1 prizes one of them is a reward for 200 schematics. If you’re able to tap every 4 hrs you should get there.
Love that episode – had to get it! 50d was a little bit on the pricey side for it though…
on an unrelated note, is anyone else struggling to collect schematics? Getting dossiers, and the main prize rack is fine, but crafting is tough for me… One of my daily tasks was “collect 40 schems”, and I just couldn’t do it. Anyone got any tips for getting them?
I received the same daily challenge to collect 40 schematics. At my current rate, it’ll take about a day and a half to complete the challenge… 😞
The next day’s task was “collect 3500 intel”…It took all day to complete that and the first task for schematics was still not done…sheesh…

Me, too…already gone overboard with sprinklies…can live without yet another skin that I will never use…toooooo many tasks for Homer that I love, and yet never seem to get to. It can’t compete with dancing in his underwear, or playing in the beer rain, or singing the stone cutters song or…
As a freemium player, one of my character/skin criteria is whether there are any medium- or long-term outdoors tasks; I like to keep my town looking busy. This one fails in that regard.

I bought the Camera Hat Homer, because I am fond of hats, barets, caps and other headgear. I collect them. I even have a bowler hat.

It’s a pass due to the lengths of the visual tasks. I’m an 8-12-24 hr tapper for the most part.
I do not regret buying this, after all, 50 donuts for a skin seems pretty reasonable especially in comparison with others ones… yes, I’m looking at you Mastermind Hank Scorpio! 😒
I’m still annoyed at the Hank Scorpio skin cost so passing on both. Hmph. 🙁
