Secret Agent Simpsons Update is Live! (Updated and Complete)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well we teased it earlier..and now it’s live (on both iOS and Android from what I can tell)!

This is an APP STORE update, so check your app stores to update.  If you don’t see it as a pending update search your store for Tapped Out.

As always I’ll be back with more details as I go through them, but for now…

It starts off with a 6s task for Homer, followed by another 6s task for Homer, and another (along with a 6s task for 3 Springfielders).  You’ll then be tasked to build the Agency HQ (free) and then a 4hr task for Springfield “agents”.    Building the HQ will unlock the prize track for you as well as new items in the store…

The characters (villains) in the dialogue look strangely like the Villains from Superheroes 2….

Update is Imminent…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well according to the EA update pattern we should be expecting a major app store update next…and that’s just what’s about to happen!

An update had hit the files (quite large too so be prepared for a big download), although it’s not in the App stores yet to download.  It is coming,  so be prepared cause it looks awesome!

Stay tuned to Addicts for all the details when it hits,  for now I’ll leave you with this teaser…

From time to time we’ll get questions about a few things we may have covered wayyyy back when Addicts first started (nearly 4 years ago), which causes us to think maybe we should post about it again.  This time apply things to how they work now.

Springfield Showoff: Rommelwood Academy

Note: There were a few submissions (from Showoff regulars) I forgot to add last night, so I’ve added them in now…so take another look through to see a few you may have missed…

As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU. Pi Day 2017 Contest Winners!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

March 14th was Pi Day and here at Addicts and who doesn’t love an excuse for pie?!  So to celebrate Pi Day 2017 we hosted a little contest, as is our tradition, where the winner wins…PIE!

So many of you entered and shared with us your favorite Pie…it made me so hungry I searched my house high and low for pie, sadly we were out. Fortunately, one lucky Addicts reader from the US won’t have that problem when they receive their pie sampler prize!

We had 2 winners for this year’s Pi Day contest, one from the US and one from outside of the US.  (due to shipping issues we could only send pie to readers inside the US…) So let’s see who the Randomizer chose….

Rommelwood Academy/St. Patrick’s Day 2017 and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Tomorrow’s the day the Rommelwood Academy mini event is slated to leave our Springfield’s, so I thought now would be a good time to look back at how all of the items added (new and old) for this tie-in impact our Conform-O-Meters.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Rommelwood event (and St. Paddy’s Day) brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring a few new and old buildings and decorations.  So let’s take a look at how all of the “goodies” impact our rating: Continue reading →

Rommelwood Academy Coming to an End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just popping in with a friendly reminder that the Rommelwood Academy mini event is set to leave our games tomorrow morning.  So finish up that prize track.  Make sure you grab everything you’re looking at from the stores (including Gil’s Hellfish deal), because come tomorrow afternoon it’ll be gone.

Remember, once the timer runs out you’ll no longer be able to purchase the items or complete the prize track.  You won’t be able to delay the timer on this one, since it was part of an in-game update not an app store update.  So be sure to get everything you want and finish the prize track (Left, Right, Left questline) BEFORE tomorrow morning, otherwise you’ll miss out.

Need a reminder about what was included in the store for this event?  Check out the rundown post here.  In addition to the rundown post, the Hellfish will also leave tomorrow.  

So what’s next?  Well if EA continues to follow their pattern of updates, we should expect to see a major (app store update required) event this week at some point.  OR they could be totally unpredictable to do another episode tie-in for Sunday’s new episode of the show.  In reality, no one (except EA) knows what’s going to happen next and when it’ll happen.  So for now let’s all just sit back, relax and wait to see what happens…

Oh and don’t forget to finish up those Rommelwood designs and submit them for our Springfield Showoff tomorrow.

Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

No new Simpsons this week, they’ve got a 1hr episode of Bob’s Burgers on instead.  But you can still watch FXX or another Simpsons streaming option and check out “The Secret War of Lisa Simpson” (S8, E25) to check out most of the Rommelwood Academy items.

 

Speaking of Rommelwood, the mini event ends on Tuesday…have you unlocked everything yet?  What are your thoughts about the mini event?  Ready for what’s next?  What do you think it’ll be?

Don’t forget Springfield Showoff will be up on Tuesday, so don’t forget to submit your Rommelwood designs by tomorrow night.

Episode Recap: “Kamp Krustier” (S28:E16)

Hey hey friends! Wookiee back with a recap of a new Simpsons episode. Apologies for the week delay but life is crazy with school, etc. Better nate than lever, right? It’s time again for another episode recap for y’all. One of the many features we like to have on this site is recaps of new Simpsons episodes for all our friends who can’t watch them immediately or like our silly reviews of them. I love when there are new episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. on TV and it’s my privilege to not only watch new episodes, which I would do with or without this awesome site, but then break them down for all of you. I stuck to the stream of consciousness format for this. Basically I watch the episode once for my enjoyment and then a couple more times to catch as much as I can while jotting down notes. Without further ado… here’s my thoughts on Season 28, Episode 16: Kamp Krustier.

Addicts Live Annoucement…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just dropping in with a quick announcement about the next Addicts Live…..

addicts-liveMark your calendars because the next episode of Addicts Live will be airing Next Saturday (April 1st) at noon ET (for timezone converter check here). (And no this isn’t an April Fools joke…)

The next episode will feature, as usual, our thoughts about what’s going on in TSTO, lots of laugh, our usual crazy antics and of course we’ll be fielding your questions.  All while hoping the Scientologists don’t come knocking on Wookiee’s door…

And of course we’re continuing to work to make sure we’re 45 minutes or less for each show! (it’s a work in progress…sometimes it happens, most of the time it doesn’t)

And those of you that can’t make the live stream, don’t worry a recording of the video will be up for your viewing pleasure after the stream is over.  So you’ll be able to catch the re-run. 🙂

Oh and if you missed any episodes of Addicts Live! you can catch up on them here.

Remember, this is meant to be interactive.  So you’ll be able to ask us questions and comment as we’re live right in the comment section here!

As far as what you’ll need for the live stream?  Well nothing different!  No new program to sign up for.  Just check out TSTO Addicts on Saturday April 1st and watch for the Addicts Live post around noon.  From there you’ll be able to directly play the stream…as if you were watching a regular embedded YouTube video!  Nice and simple!
