In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
Wowza… the 2017 Secret Agent Simpsons Event is in full effect and we’re all busy collecting intel, crafting subversive surveillance items, and tapa-tapa-tapping secret agents and spies in a covert palooza all about Globex, the EPA, GHOST, and the CIA. It’s enough to make me want to watch Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Don Adams, and Rowan Atkinson on repeat. Hooray for new ideas in TSTO. Just like the xxth Bond movie, life lessons as an adult, or an intelligence collection mission, I’m sure a lot of us never saw this coming. Of course, with any new event, there’s always an inevitable tapping on my attic floor from Alissa to get started on writing about the origins for it all. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. to do just that. For this round of origins, we’ll be taking a look at a Camera Hat Homer, a skin for 50 donuts available during Act One.
“Homer and Apu” (S5:E13)
First off I love this episode and consider it to be one of the classic Apu-centric stories. Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart? I dooooooo. For anyone who doesn’t remember this classic, the long and short is Apu sells Homer spoiled Ham and shrimp which makes him violently hospital-bound ill time two. This prompts Kent Brockman to try and scoop Apu’s sickness-inducing store with one Homer Simpson going undercover. The perfect way to do that? With “a camera so tiny it fits into this over-sized novelty hat.”
It makes sounds like a bee when it’s focusing on corrupt convenience store clerking causing Homer to go all Homer smash on it.
Not a big deal though since it’s sturdier than one might think and a a pretty realiable spy device considering it caught Apu selling hot dogs he’s dropped on the floor even after Homer smashes it.
And there you go. A spy hat which could cause permanent neck damage if worn longer than ten minutes tht Homer can now wear in TSTO for perpetuity. There’s not much more to this skin but I highly recommend this episode including a great musical number, James Woods (Simpsons did it first), Monstromart, and the first convenience store ever in India. Good great grand stuff to be enjoyed here friends.

The old camera in the hat “buzzed” and Apu asked Homer if there were bees in his hat. Of course Homer took it literally and FREAKED !!!

I just got the last prize for act 2, just in the nick of time. Only 5 1/2 days left, I was cutting it close.
Bought it right away! The questlines are the main deal with this game, so even with skins, there’s always some good writing involved.
Off-topic, but I’ve been to go to Krustyland and back to trigger the MITs. Anyone else having this problem?

Well, today’s the 30th anniversary of the Tracey Ullman Shorts, and it seems that Tapped Out isn’t celebrating it. Such a great shame. Let’s hope they make up for it by making a joke about missing the anniversary when/if Tracey Ullman content finally appears in the game. Let’s face it, Tapped Out needs Frosty Chocolate Milkshakes.

I’m a bit underwhelmed with this event. I was excited in the beginning, as I’m a big spy movie fan, but this one feels really forced and like it’s dragging along. Can’t put my finger on it…but I think it has to do with me feeling like I’m wasting time on prizes which include “skins” that I’ll probably never use and a very lackluster storyline…
No real complaints about this event, except crappy skins for a crappy building is crappy.
