Should I Spend Donuts On Crouching Panda Hidden Egg Roll?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The spies are invading Springfield!  Yes, the Secret Agent update has hit our games.  We’ve got hacking, drones, dossiers and a shrinking donut bank account because there are LOADS of spy items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Crouching Panda Hidden Egg Roll to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this more than meets the eye restaurant to your Springfield…

Building: Crouching Panda Hidden Egg Roll
Donut Price: 100 Donuts
Conform-O-Meter: Gluttony +10
Earns: $350, 35xp/16hrs
Size: 5×8
Tasks: Lenny and Carl 1hr Task (not a joint task), Earns at a regular rate of $70,17xp
Other Info: Can Go on the Boardwalk & Pier, Spy animation so it should be turned on/off with the animation toggle

Leaves Stores April 25th

Pros
-Fun looking building for Springfield
-Lenny and Carl each have a task there
-Animated when in use

Cons
-No questline associated with it
-Lenny and Carl already have a number of 1hr tasks
-1hr task (at least as of right now) doesn’t pay at a premium rate
-Animation isn’t spectacular, drones fly out of the top
-Payout every 16hrs is an awkward time for a typical tapping schedule (1, 4, 8, 24hrs)
-Pricey for a building without a character (in comparasion Happy Sumo is 100 Donuts and comes with Akira)

Final Thought
Premium:
Full disclosure I brought this the minute I saw it in the store. For no reason other than I wanted it in my town.  I liked the look & wanted it in my “China Town”.  But aside from the look, and my desire to add it to my Springfield, there are no good reasons to buy this one.  It’s overpriced, the tasks (while it’s nice the building has tasks for characters) don’t pay at a premium rate and the payout on the building income is at an awkward time (16hrs).  So premium players, unless you really like the look/design of this one & have a strong desire to add it to your Springfield…pass.

Freemium:
Pass.  Overpriced & underwhelming.  There are far better items you can spend your freemium donuts on.  If I were a freemium player, I’d skip this one.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And , as I already say, as a premium player I picked this one up.  Really like the look of it & wanted it in my town.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon.  Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

What are your thoughts on Crouching Panda Hidden Egg Roll?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. The price is WAY too expensive. 100 donuts for 1 building?! Next time it comes around it better have a rebate of like 70 donuts back or something lol.

  2. Same as you, it’s just a great looking building. I grow weary of the 1 hour jobs for everything.

  3. Crouching Panda Hidden Egg Roll

A cool Building for your Asian themed area (from prior Event), I will wait for you to return at discount price (because it will (lol), and hope EA considers adding more Characters for tasks at the Building. 👍

  4. Totally not worth the 100 donuts but I got it anyway!!! 😀👍🏻

  5. I like the look of this, but unfortunately I don’t have enough donuts.

  6. From this post people may not realize the animation is actually very cool – a tray slides out from under the roof and two drones take off and fly about for a little while. I bought this building for the look, but was happily surprised when I saw the spy animation! 🙂

  7. Off topic. Anyone get the Pot Palace building? I think it’s available for high level player. Ha ha ha ha 😁😁😁😁😁 Get it. See where I went with that one.

  8. Seriously 100 donuts for this?! I love the look of it, but that price is crazy.

  9. Love it just because of the coolness of the animation. This whole spy event is pretty amazing I must say.

  10. I love the look of this building, it is a shame they gave it such a stupid animation. I would have rathered the building light up with a cute panda/tiger animation. I hate the price and that jobs are not premium…..but, I may still pick it up anyway.

Thanks Alissa 😊 I bought it as soon as it became available also! I love anything that can go in my China/Japan area 😃 I’m happy there are some tasks there, we have too many buildings with no animation or purpose other than to collect income/XP. It is overpriced for a building alone 👋 HI EA 😬

  12. Love mine…have it next to the Clamphitheater…after the show, all my Springfielders can chow down on Mu Shu Pork😀.

Also just picked up Stoner’s Pot Palace…my Springfielders might be hungrier than expected….😋🙃😳…
Whoa…Police Dog on Patrol…don’t you just hate when that happens?😎

  13. I have to agree with you on this one. As soon as I saw the name of this, it made me laugh… But that’s not enough of a reason to buy it. Instead, I’ll save a picture of it for those times when I need a giggle.

  14. Stoners Pot Palace doesn’t do much, either, but at least it is more reasonably priced. I was looking forward to getting the Springfield Greenhouse today, but it isn’t showing up. I already have Otto, so the bundle wasn’t an option.

    • I wanted the Greenhouse also, but it wasn’t offered to me since I already had Otto and the bus…sigh….😕

      • Josephine Kick@$$

Awww that sucks!! EA needs to change that! I love the Greenhouse & would buy another if I could. 😍😃

        • Can’t see why it would be unique…is there a quest line there? Would be nice to have several, along with several butterfly 🦋 tents in a nature park…hmmmm…

    • Same here. I have contacted EA so hopefully they will add the greenhouse to the store soon.

    • I bought and just after that I opened a Mystery Box. Look and behold, 30 donut 😃

      • Only been doing the mystery box for a couple days…have bought it 7 times(42 donuts) and got …Chalmer’s car, bomb shelter, fish pond, 2 news vans, 30 donuts, and 10 donuts. So…I spent 42 donuts, got a 4% boost in XP, some fun stuff, and 40 donuts back😙…sweet.
Is this normal, or was I just really lucky?🤷‍♀️

        • There’s a pattern to it, which I posted to you several days ago, which I got from Charles. (There’s actually a second pattern, but it’s pretty rare.) If you do a “round” of 25 boxes, you’ll end up with 9% (3 billboards and 3 vans) for a net cost between 60-100 donuts (depending on your luck), which is the best donut-to-percentage ratio available. (The rare second pattern yields 2 billboards and 2 vans, but I’m not sure what the net cost is.)

    • I don’t have Otto and want the greenhouse too. I’m guessing this is gonna be a jump on it bundle in a future S.I.B. Freemium player here.

    • I was looking forward to buying the greenhouse, I couldn’t afford it the last time it was offered. But thanks to already having Otto EA has excluded me. :'(

    • I have the green house, don’t have Otto. It keeps saying quest in the store, so I can see it but I cannot buy it. Had everyone free from their tasks but no ! to start a quest line.

  15. Probably THE most overpriced building I’ve seen them release in a long time (which says something). But, like you, I bought it immediately to fill out my new Asian area of town.

  16. I like how it looks so I bought it. It does seem pretty pricey for what little it does, though.

  17. Should have been added to the prize track rather than having to spend donuts on it.

  18. I liked the name, but I’m not normally into stand alone buildings. Yep, this is a pass for me.

  19. Bought it. Love the look. My Cypress Creek area is really coming together.

    • I was hoping for several new styles of houses, but I think there will be only one Cypress Creek addition…sure am tired of the same old houses everywhere…purple, pink, white, brown…purple, pink, white, brown. I hope they at least let us buy more than one of the new style…

  20. This just filled the empty spot in my “Chinatown” – bought it immediately. Even if it is a bit pricey, I just knew where it needed to go, couldn’t resist.

  21. Neat looking building. Definitely would have a place for it in my Springfield…but way overpriced. At 60 donuts, I’d have pulled the trigger. At 100, no thanks.

  22. Apologies if it’s mentioned elsewhere. Today I have the option to buy a Springfield relaxation bundle for 120 donuts including Otto, the school bus and Springfield greenhouse. How much is Otto usually?

  23. Having baked a new batch of cronuts, I could not resist in buying it. placed it on my Squidport.
