Should I Spend Donuts On Stoner’s Pot Palace?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The spies are invading Springfield!  Yes, the Secret Agent update has hit our games.  We’ve got hacking, drones, dossiers and a shrinking donut bank account because there are LOADS of spy items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Stoner’s Pot Palace to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this 4-20 nod to your Springfield…

Building: Stoner’s Pot Palace
Donut Price: 60 Donuts
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +20
Earns: $500, 45xp/24hrs
Size: 4×8
Tasks: Wise Guy (Raphael) potentially has a 10hr task there, to Work a Clerk Shift ($350, 90xp). BUT it’s hard to get him to do it.  His Work a Clerk Shift can be done at a few locations, this is just one of them.  To get him to do his task there the best bet is to move this next to the Googolplex & then store the Googolplex.  Storing the Googolplex will store the Wise Guy as well. And when you pull him out of inventory (Googolplex, which will pull the Wise Guy from inventory) check his “Work a Clerk Shift” task & he’ll go to the closest building..i.e. Stoner’s Pot Palace.
Other Info: Can Go on the 7Boardwalk & Pier

Leaves Stores April 25th

Pros
-Popular requested building
-Animated when in use, roof hatch opens and smoke comes out
-Wise Guy will have a task there

Cons
-No questline associated with it
-To get Wise Guy to do his task there it’s pretty involved.  Not a direct task.

Final Thought
Premium:
This is offered at a better price than Crouching Panda, but it’s still another one of those “If you like it…” buildings.  Not a huge fan of the fact that the Wise Guy’s task there isn’t dedicated there.  But if you like it & have a location for it in Springfield pick it up.

Freemium:
Pass.  While it’s a better price than the other most recent building offered, it’s underwhelming.  The Wise Guy’s task isn’t dedicated there & to get him to perform the task there requires some redesign.  So unless this is something you REALLY want & have been hoping it would be added to the game…pass.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do.  And , as I already say, as a premium player I’m on the fence, not sure what I’ll decide just yet.  Just remember this is limited time, and will be leaving our stores soon.  Whatever you decide, So be sure to make your final decision before it’s gone from our games for good. (or for now..)

What are your thoughts on Stoner’s Pot Palace?  Will you be picking it up or have you already?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. In MY Springfield, Otto wouldn’t be disappointed.

  2. Stoner’s Pot Palace – the price is right, but the lack of permanent Tasks for certain Characters is ‘no bueno’ (EA – these half-assed attempts tell me you’re still just phoning it in). I’m guessing this Building will return at discount later ? 😐

  3. “What’s that smell?”

    “It smells like Otto’s jacket…”

  4. Just what the heck is that noise when you tap on it supposed to be?

  5. I walked into the stoner’s pot palace hoping to find some nice stainless steel pots designed by world renowned chef Curtis Stone. I am so disappointed!

  6. I am not sure if I remember the episode this is from, will there be a WDTCF?

  7. I have been hoping for this building since I started playing! Had to get it right away. And what a perfect day for it to show up in the store… 5 days after tax day haha.

  8. Man, I snapped it up right away thinking that surely Otto would have a task there. Bummer.

  9. We here at Stoner’s Pot Palace have heard our numerous complaints and we are pleased to announce that we have expanded our range of products to suit our name and image.

Ahahah! Because it’s POTTED plants, get it?!

    • I’m just impressed with the topiary skills of your …um…”horticulturists?”. Nice job👍…just curious, where do you dispose of all the …you know…”trimmings”?😑

  10. If you want Wise Guy to do his 10 hr task there… move your googleplex to an undeveloped area of your town with a lot of empty space near it…move pot palace next to it…store the gooleplex(with the wise guy), then pull googleplex out of storage…choose 10 hr task for wise guy…replace pot palace in its usual spot (taking wise guy with it).
I find it easier to bring stores to the googleplex rather than the other way around…I can leave the googleplex in a remote area, so no other options are available for the wise guy.

I think 💭 it is the Stoners Palace that has BLUE background in the store. Usually BLUE backgrounds are reserved for GROUPS of items/ categories.
In either case, pass for me.

I’m awaiting other good stuff that may be coming.

  12. How do you get the Spring Relaxation Bundle?

It showed up for purchase, but is locked. I don’t own Otto and would like to buy it if it’s a good deal, but I don’t even know how much it costs.

    • It looks as if you can only purchase the bundle if you DO NOT HAVE the school bus OR the greenhouse … the price of the bundle is 120 donuts, which is the same regular price as Otto so not really a great bundle in my opinion.

  13. I find it a little confusing as to why someone’s smoke would be coming out when the building isn’t connected to drugs except in name only. I agree with others that they should have given Otto a task there. It should have been something like walking up to the building and getting disappointed.

  14. This was in instant, but regrettable, buy for me. I like the look and I had a space for it in my SH/Cypres Creek shopping area. But there are no spie related animations for this building, making it quite boring and a bit expensive for just another building with a slow payout. At least Crouching Panda has a somewhat amusing animation: releasing the drones. But, at the current bonut rate it’s not a huge waste…Did anyone else notice that bonuts are _a lot_ easier to come by now? I get on average at least 10 bonuts a day, and during events like this with extra bonut rounds I’ll get around 15. I even got 30 donuts as the mystery box surprise from the daily challenges once, and I ended up with 42 bonuts total in one day… Good times….!

    • Nope… Haven’t noticed that :[

    • 10 bonuts per day you say, how do you get those?

    • There’s a lot of different ways to get bonuts now: leveling up (I do that almost daily), Maggie’s game, the monorail weekly final prize, the daily challenges (if they don’t pay donuts I’ll clear them until they do), friend visits and event bonuts. When I have to gamble, for example after leveling up, I usually pay for an extra chance at getting 3 donuts if I only got 1 — you always win! It seems to me that it’s a lot easier than a year ago.

  15. Unbelievable that Otto doesn’t have a task there!

  16. Haven’t made up my mind yet. I do like the look of it, but I don’t have a location for it yet…

    • Lol, I just plop it down and sort it out later. (But my town’s a mess with a chronic promise to myself to design it out afterwards.) Though you make me wonder how many addicts need to have a spot for their purchase before they pull the trigger. (I hope that’s not offensive; just genuinely curious.)

      • I pretty much always need a potential spot for something before I’ll spend donuts. In fact, having the perfect spot will sometimes be an enticement to spend donuts. (E.g. if I had a great place for the Chinese restaurant, I would probably buy it even though I think it’s overpriced.)

      • Well, after about 5 years of playing, space is limited, and after putting many a building in storage, I try to be sure I know what to do with it before I spend donuts. Bought it now, though, added it to my Brazil corner, goes well with the overall colour scheme there.

      • I’m with you there on that one.

  17. I’ll have to click on my Stoner’s Pot Palace again. I don’t remember seeing it do anything when I clicked on it the first time. I was pretty disappointed. I keep telling myself to wait for your posts and then I ignore that advice and buy stuff anyway lol.

Wise Guy isn’t even the character I thought would most definitely have a task there. How can Otto not have a task at a smoke shop? After I placed the building I had him do his “smoke break” task because I thought it would definitely be associated with the shop.

    • Considering Otto’s comment about false advertising during the episode with this building, you would think they would link it to him.

      • I know, right? The task for Otto should have been “be disappointed with product offerings.”
