Should I Spend Donuts On the Returning Yellow Submersible?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The spies are invading Springfield!  Yes, the Secret Agent update has hit our games.  We’ve got hacking, drones, dossiers and a shrinking donut bank account because there are LOADS of returning items in our stores just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Yellow Submersible to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this throwback to your Springfield…

Decoration: Yellow Submersible
Donut Cost:
85 Donuts
Bonus %: 2.5% Bonus on all cash and XP
What Else?: For $500 and 24hrs it can dive and bring you back a squidport or pier tile.  Even if you’ve already maxed out.

Should I Buy
My Opinion On it Now:
Initially I was pretty meh about this one, but it does come in handy if you’ve maxed out your tiles and need more. (or if you don’t want to spend SH Currency to get pier tiles).  So if you’re in the market to expand your boardwalk or pier pick this up…otherwise save your donuts.

And that’s it my friends, the quick Should I Buy recaps for latest returning items..

What are your thoughts on the Yellow Submersible?  Will you be adding it to you Springfield?  Do you already own it? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’ve had this decoration since it first came out and it did used to return quite a few tiles. For the last couple of months though it has almost completely stopped working.

I still send it out every day and for the last 60 days I have received exactly 1 tile.

Has anyone heard of a new upper limit of tile ownership?

  2. Two dives and nothing yet. I expected the first one would have something, especially because of the quest line where Sea Captain says that we got something, lol. A tile or two per week is nice enough for me, but I’m getting worried because I didn’t get that “introductory” tile and now I’m wondering if it indeed pays extra. I’ll reply later this evening when it returns from the third dive.

    • Update: the third dive indeed returned a tile, so despite the initial dive returning nothing, looks like we’re ok going forward. Thank you, Alissa!

  3. I’m a little confused. The original SIB says it has a 2.5% bonus AND you get $500/45xp when you send it on its 24hr dive (which may also bring you a boardwalk/pier tile).

This returning SIB seems to say that the 24hr dive mission COSTS $500?

    Which is it? 😟

  4. Passed on this first time around, but since then I maxed out so am now thinking about it

    😁🇬🇧

  5. Bought this when it first came out and really glad I did. I try to keep up on it daily and been able to build up a really nice pier, both Squidport style and Heights style ornate. Have to admit I am surprised at how often I do get tiles. Great purchase if you like to build a fancy shoreline!

  6. I got it the first time it came out and I am still very happy with it. I make sure to always have it on task.

  7. I grabbed it immediately. I maxed out on regular tiles a long time ago and i hate the SH grinding. Just hoping the payout is decent

  8. I got it last time, and it has been constantly diving for tiles ever since. Lately, the probability to get one has decreased, though, I get the “sorry, you got nothing” message more often than I used to. Unfortunately, I have no data to back this up, I didn’t write down the results, but maybe someone else has a record?

  9. I splurged on the Yellow Submersible cuz I maxed out on both types of tiles and I’m desperate for more. I would like EA to allow us to increase the limit of the tiles we can churn out cuz I want to put more shops and items on Squidport…

  10. Not a big fan of the Squidport area, so not even close to having the tiles maxed out. This is a pass for me.

Design is nice, but not enough value for my town.

    Well,
An hour left- I hope the rumors are true
In an hour we can have a second chance to purchase some of previous items.
    Hope and hope and hope

  12. One of my favorite decorations. Picked it up the day it came out, ironically the same day Sir George Martin passed if I’m not mistaken. Extra tiles I’ve been hoarding came in handy after the water expansion 👌

    (Wrong colour, though!)

  14. You’d be nuts to pass on it. You’ll regret it if they open more ocean, I still haven’t opened the ocean they unlocked a few months back but I’ve already got 140# pier tiles and 60 some heights tiles for when I do.

  15. I don’t need it for the tiles, but I got it anyway. I guess it might bring me more ornate tiles, that wouldn’t be bad.
(Anyone here remember the multi-handshake glitch that could get you basically unlimited boardwalk tiles? Good times.)

  16. Got it right away. I missed out getting this the first time. I’ve been maxed out on squidport tiles for a long time, and I really wanted this. Hooray! 🍾

I would rather that returning items were discounted. I like when EA releases bundles. It made me buy Hank Scorpio and Kumiko. This event’s Mystery box has some nice deals for 70 doughnuts. I’m holding onto my doughnuts until the last update hits. A visit from a French Fop. What could it be? A lot of people think it’s Marge’s French bowling instructor.

I’ve been wanting it since I’m maxed on tiles, so I was happy to see it come back 😊

    • Same. Passed on it last time, but won’t have the same regret any longer.

      • Hey Safi, got one spot available if you’d like to be neighbors. ID is the same shown here🙂

        • Awesome. But my town isin complete disarray since October, so please excuse the mess on the top half of the screen.

        • I’ve wanted to be your neighbour for over a year, but after constantly seeing your amazing designs in the Showoffs, I figured I would wait until my town was organized before I sent you a request. But I donèt think that day is coming anytime soon. Reuqest sent. ID starts with Safi.

          • Sorry it took so long to reply, I’ve been at a Derby party all day (Derby is a “big” deal where I’m from 😁). Anyways, you give yourself such little credit! You have some really great designs in your town, my favorites being your heights and boardwalk areas. Looking forward to seeing your designs in the future!

        • P.S. If you have a few minutes to explore my town someday, I strongly recommend taking the Monorail journey. Eventually I’d like it to go through my entire city, but for now it does cover a good chunk of it.

      • Josephine Kick@$$

        Already got 1 tile 😊

  19. I definitely recommend this because of all the extra water tiles we’ve gotten lately. I ran out of board walk tiles pretty quickly (both normal and the fancier ones).

  20. I’d like this but as usual, not enough donuts. 🙁

  21. I bought it. I am maxed out and it came back empty the first time. How often does it return a tile? Is there a max amount of tiles it can return?

    • The TSTOAddicts probably know more specifics, but it comes up with boardwalk & the heights boardwalk tiles pretty infrequently (the heights boardwalk especially). Still, if I were to estimate, I’d say maybe a regular boardwalk tile every 2-3 days & heights every 4-5 days.

      It’s one of my constant 24-hour quests. I love it. 🙂 <3

    • Sorry, “ornate” tiles, not “heights” tiles. I don’t know what they’re called, I just know I need more! LOL
