Where Did THAT Come From – Nick’s Bowling Shops

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Bowling! One of the things in the Best. Show. Ever. that we’ve always needed more of and now there’s been an entire mini-event all about it. The 2017 Pin Pals mini event has had all sorts of items about throwing balls into gutters and wondering if one-armed bowlers are lefties or righties. Strike that… dumb question. If you’re in SPringfield lefty is always a good guess.

Anyhoo… hooray for new ideas in TSTO! As usual, when new additions arrive in the game, there’s always an inevitable tapping on my attic floor from Alissa to get started on writing about the origins for it all. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. to do just that after I blow the Cheetos dust of my furry fingers so I don’t gum up my key board. Fun fact: said dust is not a good substitute for talcum when bowling. For this round of origins, we’ll be taking a look at the two Nick’s Bowling Shop that were available for 70 donuts.

“Homer Alone” (S3:E15)

You probably know this episode as the Marge has a nervous break down and ends up going to Rancho Relaxo episode but like most… there are always tons of things to mine in every 22 minute bout of funny for the developers of TSTO. Marge may have flipped her lid on Springfield Memorial Bridge but before that, she was just living her regular frantic and harried life that is the hard working reality of a stay at home mom. Marge has tons to do raising three kiddos and supporting Homer and on this particular day, her errand list included taking Homer’s bowling ball to Nick’s because a “bottle cap got lodged in the finger hole” and Homey didn’t want to have to use an alley ball.

Marge goes to Nick’s but the problem is that Springfield has two shops with that name and she went to the wrong one first.

The other is on the opposite side of town. I feel bad that when Marge gets there Nick says he doesn’t flush balls. In fact, he hasn’t flushed a ball in years.

Poor Marge… no wonder she lost it. Fighting kids, grocery shopping for “fruit leather… tree fresh imitation orange drink… (and) “Krusty brand duck sausage pizza,” AND bowling shenanigans. No wonder she needed a vacation by herself. I also sort of wonder if the picture of Jacques at the second Nick’s helped the meltdown.

That’s really it for this origin post. Two new premium buildings that you really should place far away from each other in your towns if you purchased them. Did you remember these?
