But with the anniversary celebration we got a little sneak peek at the next TSTO event…something to do with Time Travel. And naturally a new update, no matter how small, brings premium items to our store…just tempting us to spend those sprinkles!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

My Opinion On It Now: I was a fan of this at 250 donuts, I’ve had it in my Springfield forever, at 125 donuts I’m an even bigger fan. However, if you don’t have Lampwick it’ll just sit there.
Item: Statue of Burns
Donut Price: 50 Dounts, 30 Donut Rebate, Net 20 Donuts
What Does It Do?: Decoration for Springfield. Now offers a 2.25% bonus on all cash and XP

My Opinion On It Now: Very nice bonus % for donuts spent, but at the end of the day it’s just a Burns statue, and does Springfield really need another Mr. Burns? But if you’re into bonus %…this is a fantastic buy!
Item: Krusty’s Mansion
Donut Price: 115Donuts, 25 Donut Rebate, Net 90 Donuts
What Does It Do?: Premium building for Springfield (earns $200,22xp/8hrs). Permanent 6hr task for Krusty.

My Opinion On It Now: It’s still a little on the high side for a premium building with only 1 character task there. However, it’s still one that I enjoy. I’ve got it in my Springfield Heights, as I paid full price for it. So if you’ve been envious of this in your neighbor’s towns and hoping it would come back…now’s your chance to grab it.
Item: One Week Wonder Films
Donut Price: 100 Donuts, 30 Donut Rebate, Net 70 Donuts
What Does It Do?: Building for Springfield, was free during Superheroes 2. Does have an 8hr task for Smithers

My Opinion On It Now: Meh this one is a toss up in my mind. If you didn’t get it during Superheroes 2 than it’s not a bad pickup for 70 donuts. But unless you really want it…I’d pass and save those donuts.

The Gold Mr Burns fits in nicely with my casino area.
Your SIB about the Mansion Of Solid Gold was fairly brief so I just don’t see why this item is so special? Is it just because it looks gold? It offers no bonus and offers me no benefit to S.Heights either as I’ve gained all the prizes, what am I missing about this?

I got the Burns statue because it’s a bargain for a bit of bonus
But passed on the gold mansion because it only gives a small amount to the heights portfolio

Thanks for the post and all the comments from folks. Enough people pointed out the need to save donuts in anticipation of the full event and because of that I’ll also pass on the solid gold house, as much as I’d love it otherwise. I want to get my % bonus and KEM farming up quite a bit more still first. Plus who knows if they have a redux sale at the end like they did at the end of Secret Agents a few weeks back.
Alissa, sometimes your SIB posts confuse me! You hesitate to give a recommendation on most character/building combos above 120 donuts, but then go and recommend a 250 donut building (gold mansion) that doesn’t really provide anything (like bonus %) other than a character task (which I’m assuming is indoors). I mean, the look of it is nice, but the value is outrageous and really confused how you give players a thumbs up on this one.
My opinion has evolved over the years..i originally recommended it because i loved it. I still love it so still recommend it
Thanks to this site I AM into increasing my bonus percent. I didn’t realize the Burns statue was only 20 donuts until I saw this article. Not crazy about it but I’ll find room somewhere. Thanks Alissa!
Bought only burns statue, saving my donuts for next event.
I got the Polo House. Even though it’s overpriced, I had been coveting it for awhile. I already have everything else except the Burns statue which I don’t know if I really have a place for.
Had one week wonder films, managed to get all the rest & the new mall 😊 I’ve been wanting the polo field house for so long, I love its look, and Krusty needed his house 😂😂😂 the gold mansion was a splurge.
I would love to get the polo house….but 200 donuts?! That’s just ridiculous. Maybe if it had a discount, did something cool, or someone had a task there…
Ah, the post I’ve been waiting for, and it’s just as good as I thought, that golden mansion is definitely on my list!
Would the classic mansion pieces look good around Krusty’s Mansion?
I doubt the scale would work. Most of the classic mansion pieces are huge, and even the smaller pieces would probably not look right. Krusty’s mansion is slightly smaller than the D’Amico summer home. (I don’t have it, but I’ve seen shots of it right next to the summer home, which has similar coloring.)
The last two times the gold mansion was offered, I couldn’t afford it. Since I spent relatively few donuts during the spy event, I had enough for it this time. Bought it and the Burns statue, which both ended up next to the money mountain with all the other gold things, at least for the time being.
Bought the polo field house, the only item offered to me.
was so tickle to finely get the Mansion made of Gold… saving my donuts for the next event… so not buy anything else right now..
Still not a fan of this rebate thing, I have about 125 donuts so I can’t buy the Solid gold mansion.
And since they decided to increase the prices by 10% I’m never going to buy more donuts again.
Fyi EA didn’t increase the prices. That has to do with Apple and Android and the tax rates they collect
EA charges the same amount as they always have .99 USD to $99 USD.
I know these may be good deals but I am not at my donut comfort zone of 500. Don’t know what premiums this Time-Travel event has in store.
I got the Mansion of Solid Gold because I needed something to put next to that solid gold train, and I had an empty spot in Springfield Heights.
Trying to build up my % so I picked up Mr Burns statue. Like how it goes with my mountain and burns mansion setup plus it wasnt too expensive. Trying to farm/save donuts for next event. Still struggling to get more than a few donuts per day. I’m about 50% ish on my meter. Trying to pick up bonus stuff without killing my stash…I know it’s a catch 22 but hopefully it will get better
Depending on your cash income and reserves, you should be able to get way more than a few donuts per day. I have my XP Multiplier permanently switched on (costs 25 donuts every 10 days) and my cash/XP multiple is at 400%. By playing 4 times a day I can pick up:
24 donuts per day from a 28 house KEM farm
3 donuts per day from the XP received by sending all my characters on 24 hour tasks
3 donuts every other day from Where’s Maggie
5 donuts every week from recycling
I then concentrate my donut spending on premium characters to boost my daily task income and items that come with good cash/XP multiples to boost my XP multiplier earnings. Over time, the more you gather the easier it gets to earn donuts.
Sorry, just noticed you are on 50% on your meter so I’m guessing you are a relatively new player which means you may not be in a position to be benefitting from the bonus level up yet.
Cletus has a permanent 6-hour premium task at the Mansion of Solid Gold, too.
Only going for the Burns statue for the bonus %. Saving the Dohnuts for the upcoming event. Who doesn’t like time travel stories 🙂
I’m a sucker for anyone’s home. Just feels incomplete even if I might never send them there. Haha
