Where Did THAT Come From – Heavenly Hills Mall

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Woo hoo! The spy event is weeks behind us (although the passing of Roger Moore sort of makes me miss it) and we enjoyed a nice little break with the Pin Pals mini-event. Now we brace for another event that looks like it will be timey wimey and topical with Homer’s work bench and an orange Homer. Pretty cool in my humble opinion and I’m excited for new stuff. Of course, the prequel to what’s to come also included a blast from the past in the Heavenly Hills Mall and since I know everyone doesn’t have the same knowledge of the Best. Show. Ever., it’s time to dive into the TV series and find this item which was available for 60 donuts.

“Lisa the Skeptic” (S9:E8)

You may remember this episode because of its hilarious satirical content about faith and science or a funny post from this fuzzball (shameless plug inserted here for the angel fossil WDTCF) but truly… this is a great one. Lisa being a skeptic (note: she did not become a Buddhist until Season 13), fossil dig sites, the Museum of Natural History, Stephen J. Gould, a court case forever deciding the battle of faith and science in Springfield, and more. This episode is all sorts of amazing and it all starts with a police sting for scofflaws involving free botes. Yes I meant to spell it that way… I have a real job too. Leaving the police station, our favorite family sees the construction site for a new mega mall that’s being built. “They say the air conditioner will be more powerful than a million hydrogen bombs.” That sounds safe. Lisa is aghast because it is being built on top of a site where lots of fossils were found. Not surprising since it is called Sabretooth Meadows.

Lisa goes back later to start her crusade against the mall covering up “moldy old bones” with its progress. She even employs Lionel Hutz and gets the owners to allow an archaeological survey. Lisa and the honor students and detention students of Springfield Elementary are rewarded/punished with a dig for fossils. It is during this that they uncover the skeleton of an angel or a dead cavemen bitten by carnivorous fish or maybe even a mutant from the nuclear plant.

“Now that’s interesting!”

The rest of the episode has all the Springfieldianites discussing ownership, awing over the religious implications, and Homer trying to earn a buck all while Lisa attempts to be more scientific and skeptical about the find. It’s really hilarious. Could the angel actually have heralded the end of Springfield and the world? When the Pope says keep an eye on it… its certainly possible.

Spoilers ahead for an episode that aired over 19 years ago but the long and short is the whole angel fossil dealio was all a publicity stunt for the mega mall aptly named the Heavenley Hills Mall.

“And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid”… and also excited for a Pottery Barn and 20% off sale (even rat poison!)

And now we have said mall (and the angel fossil) in our towns. I guess that’s a win for science AND my faith in the game. What do you think of the premium offering? Did you add the mall to your town? Like this episode as much as me? Sound off in the comments and happy tapping friendereenos.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

    🇬🇧😁

  2. Great summary! Now i can put the angel next to it so the scene is complete. Thanks!

I had not seen the episode & missed your original post about the angel. Thank you for this post Wookiee, I’d always been perplexed by its being in the game 😊

  4. I wish the mall was like the globex facility where you could make more pieces. That would have made it an instant purchase even if they increased the cost.

  5. classic episode…….and heavenly mall is a good deal

  6. “No one gets into heaven without a glowstick!”

  7. It would be nice if those blue lamp posts in the mall’s parking lot appeared in the game for in game cash and functions like the Chinese lanterns from Lunar New Year where they’re off in the day and on by night.
