I have to admit, that when I saw the details of this update, I wanted to quote my great grandfather to the 2,000th power, ThunderThighs Miller, with a single word…”Ugh!”
Of course, in his day, “Ugh” meant everything from, “Nice dress, it makes your hips look perfect for child bearing” to, “Hey! You Overcooked the Mammoth Again!!”
But, in this case…It was just the feeling of a whole-lotta-tappin’ going on, for some mildly odd prizes. I DO like the archaeology twist. But, just like archaeology, you have to be patient (not my strong suit).
In any case…the Prehistoric Prizes are all attainable, with some solid 4-hour planning (how did prehistoric man count hours?). Let’s take a look…

Yeah I’ve been unhappy because normally I can complete the event a few days earlier. I haven’t been able to get he final rewards at all.
I’m about 14k behind, not convinced I’ll get the final prize.
Great, I was about 12k behind the calendar when the update hit nerfing the payouts…now I’m like 20k behind…..grrrrr…
Just got back on track 3 days from the end of the act. My updated started 1 day late but I’ve found this event quite hard. I’m on 4 to 5 times a day, always visit neighbours. I usually get 4 or 5 lots of bonuts in these type of events but this time I’ll just be happy getting to the end. I didn’t buy any premium characters, passes or items which have helped such as more fossels or shovels. Keep tapping

Didn’t get the update until Sunday when I got back from a holiday break (with very limited WiFi) so the calender only shows me how far behind I am….!
I had a task to place the frontier gate and nothing happened? Anyone else had that or shine a light on it? The guy from the museum popped up but I skipped it accidently…

I also didn’t get the update until Friday (gutted – was ill so could have kept up the visits easily!). I can’t afford to buy the 2 premium shovel collectors, and am visiting 4\5 times. Will JUST make it ,I think. Why can’t they update earlier with a time lock on it so we all start the same time?
The game is played world wide and with over 24 different time zones around the world, that would be hard to accomplish Plus the international date line
Michael, That’s not what she’s saying. She’s suggesting that once the new event starts, require the game to download the latest update. (block us from game play until we have the updated version)
Is the grave digger really worth it for this event? Will he continue to be used in Acts 2 & 3?

I started about a half day late, and now I’m 2.5-3 days ahead. I bought Cavegirl Booberella and Gravedigger Billy with donuts I’ve been accumulating for several months, and have been using the pattern someone posted to find the treasure in 10 shovels or fewer. Overall a very fun event, I’d say.

I guess I’m a sucker for events. I spent quite a few doughnuts and I’m already owner of caveman moe and moe’s cavern.
It’s 8000 fossils for the bonus prize. I’ve never gotten this far so fast on an event, so idk what to expect.

there hasn’t been a single event i’ve ever been behind in according to the calendar. i’ve always been a day or two ahead of it and gotten the final prize with usually 4 days to spare. i login 4 times per day following the 4hr pattern & this is the only event in which i’m behind the calendar, two days in fact. the fossils are earning at a very slow rate compared to the calculated ones in this post. the dig gives less than 100 fossils each time & there’s only 10 or so dinosaurs cleared from my town & my friends game is clearing 50…right now the biggest earner is neighbours towns..something is buggy ea
same here, I started 2 days ahead and now I’m like half day behind, and on gems… pfff like 16 to get the T-Rex, I don’t get what happened, I should be on bonuts stage now
Wow, update didn’t hit my phone until Saturday. Super lame. Between events I normally just login once/ day or so to set 24 hour tasks. Nothing was there Friday when I logged in.
Wow, that’s worse than mine :/ .always hope they will give a lil leeway on the first act next time, but never happens 🙁

I’m slowly giving up on the game seems like some neighbors got bazillion points aready yet I checked for updates daily and there was definitly NONE before Thursday. Consequently I likely won’t finish part 1, almost 20k behind already. Needless to say since I did all regular quest by now, unlocked all characters possible with these, I am not a new player anymore.
I log in every 4h, visiting neighbors daily, following strategies for the excavation and so on just to learn I won’t finish part 1 AGAIN just like with every event I ever freakin’ played and no wonder if updates drop in late and numbers are so high it’s impossible to catch up without paying.
This seriously sucks, also I spent alot of money on the game by now, but for things I like to have, they are not forcing me to pay just to finish events, so yeah no cent from me anymore this is just ridiculous rant over 🙁 …
It’s not even like the prizes are that great. Just take up tons of real estate. Wish the code writers would use a little more imagination to keep things interesting! Oh well, guess they don’t mind losing tons of loyal tappers because of their stale writing.
I dunno the dialogue this event has been way better than the last couple of events…so I wouldn’t say it’s stale.
I agree! It’s funny and it also feels more cogent and cohesive than the last couple of events.
I also like the addition of the fresh element (the digging) a lot. Kind of like the games in the casino event. I think they should do that kind of thing more often. (I guess the agent scanner was meant to be somewhat like that, but 20 seconds of frantic tapping is not as engaging as playing something that’s a combination of skill and luck at your own speed/timing.
However, when I look at the countdown and see that there’s still 29-30 days left, I’m not too sure I’m going to enjoy this event for that much longer…

Yeah, it sure feels like a shorter time to earn Event Currency / Craft Currency – but I think most Tappers will earn everything (even if some of the Prizes are ‘meh’)

Compared to the last events first act which I was mostly behind on the first few days, this event I am a little behind by a few thousand probably because I haven’t been using the excavation site often enough and I only have Gravedigger Billy as the premium character to earn shovels. I hope I can catch up and possibly get a few bonut rounds in this era.
