Should I Spend Donuts on the Waterslide Tree?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Time to grab toast as we travel back…wayyyy back…in time with Homer in the all new TTT (Time Travel Toaster) event!  Homer’s taken us back to the Prehistoric Era and we’ve got Dinosaurs, Cavemen & of course other Prehistoric items in our Springfield just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Waterslide Tree to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this slip, sliding, fossil generator to your town…

Decoration: Waterslide Tree
Donut Cost: 100 Donuts
Earns: 405 15xp/4hrs, also 965  when placed (Seems that it will convert to the next two Era’s currency as well.  So looks like it’ll be beneficial the whole game)
Bonus %: 3% bonus all cash and XP
Size:
8×7
Conform-O-Meter:
Tree-hugging +200
Other Info:
Can be placed on the Grass/Dirt or Beach.  You’ll earn the  when you place the tree.

Leaves stores July 5th

Pros
-Earns a fair amount of  every 4hrs
-Comes with a bonus % in addition to the Fossil Payout
-Always animated, and a fun little decoration

Cons
-No questline (or even a little bit of dialogue) associated with it
-Expensive
-Bonus % isn’t great for 100 donuts spent

Final Thought
Premium
Don’t buy this because you think you need to it complete the event, you don’t.  If you want to get it, get it because you enjoy the decoration and have a good use for it in your Springfield…otherwise pass.

Freemium
Stay away from this one.  There are far better items to spend your sprinkles on, don’t waste them on this one.  You should have no issues finishing the event without it…

A note to both Premium and Freemium Players..
The only time I recommend getting something like this for the event currency is if you feel like you can only log in once or twice a day and you really seem like you’re falling behind in your prize track.  Otherwise stay away from it..

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I’ll likely be passing on this one.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).  And this is one of those items that helps with the event, so if you’re thinking about getting it do it sooner rather than later to maximize your benefit from it.

What are your thoughts on Waterslide Tree?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield?  Or have you already?  Why or why not? Where have you placed the tree in your Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I agree it’s expensive for what you get but got one because it’s the only tree house I’ll ever have! It is pretty and has a lovely water sound but I can’t help wondering if it would have been too much to ask that the kids could have a task to go with it like sliding down the water slide? Anything like that would have made it more fun but either way I figure it’ll fit in nicely in my nature and camping area of town. It may be the only purchase I make during this event unless they come up with something I cannot resist later on.

  2. While pricey, it’s unique. I saw it in a neighbor’s town and loved it even more than expected. I’m very happy with it.

  3. Thanks for the write-up.

I’m trying to place this…is it from Das Bus?

  4. I got it. I love the look of it and it fits great in my forest.. very happy with the look.

  5. I got it as soon as I seen it. I love that episode!!! Lol the monkey characters should have a butler task there lol.

  6. Josephine Kick@$$

I’ll probably get it because I think it looks cool & might go wit my fun park once I redo it 😊

  7. When I picked it up I really was hoping there would be animations for Nelson (on the hammock), Martin (in the pool), Ralph (eating at the table), and Sheri & Terri (Driving the car out of the tree). Maybe EA will consider adding these in the future?

Still love the item without these jobs!

  8. Normally stay away from stuff this expensive (esp for bonus %) but loved this the moment I saw it. Also bought the jungle for 85 and am building a nice little prehistoric oasis around a small pool of water and putting the other event prizes, like flowers, etc…, and pterodactyl Nest around it. Looks sharp. Totally worth it for me based on design only.

  9. I bought it right away because I liked the look of it. I’m really happy because of the many benefits: bonus %, event currency ánd helps with the panini press upgrade. Oh, who am I kidding? I am a completionist and I was going to get it even if it didn’t offer any benefits… 😂

  10. I’ve just cleaned up my town and this looks great in my new wilderness area.

  11. I got it because I started the event 2 days late and was worried about finishing the first part on time. I really cut it close with that on the spy event.

  12. Instant buy! It looks so good! I love it! Makes me smile. Also got the ‘it’s raining donuts’ boat. A great animation.

  13. No monkey butlers??

  14. Saw this decoration in my neighbors town. Very very nice and has a Zen feel. I’d have bought it if I had not bought Booberella and her curvy caves, and low on donuts count.

  15. Couldn’t resist this one any more than I could resist the big tree in the winter event. Love diversity in my foliage. Also, I think it fits nicely with the sawmill.

  16. This looks like the treehouse in Da bus. It’s perfect by Kamp Krusty.

  17. Wish it was less expensive, and or came with a better bonus, but when my wife bought it, and plopped it in her Springfield. I was sold. I love the look, size, and animation of it far and above the cons.
Happy with it, and like how it adds to the section I placed it.
Ah donuts, I always eat them up so fast 🙂

PS: Alissa, I feel I just can not say it enough, thank you so much for all of your hard work, dedication, and guidance.

  18. I bought it as soon as I saw it, what can I say it’s a tree. I love trees (duh). It’s at edge of my camping/forest area along with all the other big trees. It looks so cool! I didn’t buy it to help with event, I wanted another tree in my town.
Alissa thanks for all your hard work getting event info to us as fast. You rock girl! Patric & Wookiee not leaving you out, both of you are awesome as well!

Thanks for being an awesome friend, Hank! Alissa and the addicts are wonderful, and I appreciate fellow tree lovers like you!!

      • Sorry for delay took a road trip no internet.
You are most welcome and it’s my pleasure. You have been an awesome long time friend! Yes anyone who loves trees is awesome in my book.
My trip was up north into the redwood forest absolutely amazing.

  19. I got it both because I like the nature-style decorations (have all the springs, lakes, etc…) and because the payout is relatively high compared to past event-currency-earning premium items.

Assuming you can tap this 4x a day, that’s 1620 event currency. Multiply by ~33 remaining days and we’re talking 53k+. That’s likely 4x rounds of bonuts.

There’s also good design potential – the pteradactyl is already positioned so that it looks like it’s perched on a vast tree – which is a lot more size-appropriate.

  20. Looks cool, happy I bought it. 👍

Psst, check the “Other Info”. 🙂

  21. …if not already on a last chance sale 🙂
