Walk Like an Egyptian..TTT Egpyt Era Is Live!

Update: I know some of you had questions about Willie and Skinner…BOTH the final prize of this act (Taskmaster Willie) and the premium Pharaoh Skinner are costume/skins NOT full new characters (like Caveman Moe was).  So yes…EA wants you to pay 150 donuts for a skin…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on because it’s time to Walk Like an Egyptian through time as the Time Travel Toaster has flashed us into the  Egyptian Era…

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Lisa, Wiggum & Pharaoh Ziff will start this for you with dialogue.  This will be followed by a 4hr task for 5 Springfielders.

Egyptian Era Runs until June 23rd, 2017

Just what does Act 2 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…

New Prize Currency for Egyptian Era.

 Papyri

So the ability to earn Fossils is now gone.  Your counter prize track for the Egyptian Era has reset to zero because you have zero Papyri.  So forget about those Fossils…time to read the papyri

You’ll earn papyri very similar to how you earned Fossils during the Prehistoric Era…

-Clearing the new Tappables (Pharaoh Gods)
– Clearing Pharaoh Gods in your Neighbor’s towns
-Tasks at Mom and Pops Hardware (earn shovels and Papyri)
-Dig Site, each Square you earn will earn Papyri (like it earned fossils), output will vary depending on your Panini Press Level.
-Daily Challenges
-Waterslide (if you’ve purchased it)

You’ll also earn Papyri from the questline…don’t ignore the questline.  You earn a ton of Event currency from it, it’s important for your prize track total..

New Egyptian Era Tappables

The New Egyptian Era Tappable is the Pharaoh God.  They still spawn, 1 every 3 minutes. The Max in your town at once 30, Bank 50.  So your town and bank is full every 4hrs….

Each one you tap earns you…

 and 5

Excavation Site Prizes

Yes, you’ll still be collecting SHOVELS for the Egyptian Era Dig site.  You earn shovels by sending characters on tasks at Mom and Pops Hardware, by Daily Challenges and by buying them (don’t buy them).

You’ll need 48  to earn all of the Egyptian Era Excavation Prize Track…and it works exactly like it did for the Prehistoric Era.

The same characters can earn shovels.  Pharaoh Skinner can earn 4, like Cavegirl Booberella

And the prizes are..

3 Egyptian Pillars (3 )

Burning Tree (9 )

Egyptian Sundial (16 )

Skinner Sarcophagus (23 )

Abu Simbel Temple (48 )

Remember it’s a running total…and those little icons are the hidden treasures you find at the excavation site.

Egyptian Era Personal Prizes

Banana Leaf Windmill- 9,900

Free Land- 18,200

Tuts ‘n’ Tots Elementary- 30, 600

Orb – 43,000

1,000 Specimen- 51, 300

Sphinx- 66,200

Egyptian Pyramid w/ Taskmaster Willie- 86,900

Bonuts are still there after prize track is complete.

Prehistoric Prizes…

If you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “PREHISTORIC” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright buy each one left at the point you left off at. (Just like every other event recently.)

Crafting

Crafting remains, as it was during the Prehistoric Era, for the Egyptian Era.

Specimen for crafting are earned via the prize track, Daily Challenges, tapping Pharaohs, Excavation site and the Historical Society (if you purchased it)

New Items in the Store..

Pharaoh Throne (w/ Pharaoh Skinner)- 150 Donuts (earns shovels)

Returning

Hieroglyph Wall- $500

 Sacred Parchment- 15 Donuts

And before you ask…

And that my friends concludes the quick rundown of the Egyptian Era!

Remember this is just a quick rundown…as we have time to play through the Era ourselves we’ll break everything down in more detail.  If you need help with the basics check out the Time Travel Toaster Event Page in the meantime.

Thoughts on the Egyptian Era?  Just like you pictured it?  Excited about these prizes?  How’d you do with your Prehistoric prizes?  Will you be buying any of the new premium items? Sound off in the comments below.  You know we love hearing from you!

  1. Is the questline you mention above that “pyramid system” questline? Shall I complete it now that the event is almost over? I would let Lisa do her necessary 4 hour task if it helps me more than the shovels she earns. I just would like to get the Bart Sphinx. Could you help, please?

  2. I’ve been trying to get the pirate treasure which cost1500 I have more than that and it won’t unlock. It does say earn this item from the Excavation Site but how do you do this?

    • You cannot until the excavation site switches to Pirate Era (tomorrow) and you’ve earned all of the Pirate Era prizes from that site.

      In other words…patience.

    • You can’t craft them until you’ve earned one of them during act three.

  3. Am confused do I clear as many squares for maximum papyri which I need, or gem hunt which I don’t need,

    • After you’ve maxed out gems it’s irrelevant which option you do because if you have 17 shovels and use them all you’ll get credit for 17 spaces, regardless if you found the gem in 4 moves, 6 moves, or didn’t find the gem.

  4. I just realised that there is no timer on the stuff in the store any more – how will I know when the limited time stuff disappears now? Is this a new way of stopping us to think things over before buying?
But when there is no “limited time” label, maybe people won’t buy stuff because the think it will be around at least till the end of the event? Not sure what they were thinking, but it seems a dumb move from my perspective. But then, EA is not required to make our lives easier…

  5. Josephine Kick@$$

I purchased the throne w/pharaoh Skinner, but it isn’t producing any shovels 😕

  6. So the entire dinosaur portion of the event has come and gone and EA never brought back Petroleus Rex for purchase…

prEtty bAd form if you ask me.

  7. Is the last prize a skin for Willie? Not sure I want to play the same way as the previous act for a skin…..

  8. CyanideTipped

If people didn’t know you can get more than 199 shovels…I had like 230 something starting this Act 2. Just manually send chars on shovel collection instead of using the building around the 199 max. 🙂

  9. Any one having problems with the update?

  10. For those wondering about the rather overpriced Skinner’s skin & Pharoah throne, I’m pretty sure it has 2.25% bonus. Just in case that tilts the decision a bit for you. I got it because I liked how it looked and had some spare farmed donuts, and was grateful to see my bonus go up, made the purchase feel slightly less gratuitous.

    • 2.25% for 75 donuts doesn’t sound like a great deal to me. (And that’s assuming the throne makes up half the price, rather than assuming the skin costs only 50 donuts. The skin is also a pretty bad deal at 75 donuts, although at least it earns shovels.)

  11. Can someone explain the “saving shovels” thing? I earn 17 shovels every four hours, and I immediately use them to excavate. Are people just not using them right away, and instead waiting until they’re maxed out on how many they can store? And if so–why? I see comments that make it sound as though this is a way to earn more prizes/earn prizes faster, but I don’t know how that works….

    • They meant after they had already earned all the prizes for the prehistoric act they started to save the shovels (rather then use them to excavate) for this act. You can store up to 199 shovels. Had you been able to do that you would already have able to unlock the first prize for this event and close to the second. (you earn roughly 14,000 after using 199 shovels.) You would have also unlocked most, if not all, of the excavation prizes for this event. (I’ve already unlocked all five)

Of course a lot of people weren’t able to do this because they struggled to earn enough to unlock all the prizes for the prehistoric event. But if you were able to, you get a really good head start into the next act.

    • For people who finished the Act 1 questline early, saving shovels was a way to get a head start on Act 2.

      • Oh! I finished two days early, but it didn’t occur to me to do anything about that other than earn bonuts….

  12. Oh EA, what the heck?! So you can craft multiple sundials but NOT the cave painting. Really? Really?

  13. The prizes for this act are definitely underwhelming to me, but I am glad to finally be able to buy that “parchment,” which I still think looks kind of like a gate for the Stonecutters walls. (Why is EA so stingy with gates? Most fences don’t even have a gate option!)

  14. These prizes are the worst I’ve ever seen for an event. All of this stuff is going to wind up in my inventory, where all the prehistoric stuff already is.

  15. One thing I’ve been doing with the crafting is buying only the Prehistoric Fern @ 250 Specimens. It gives 125 Tachyons on placement. You can buy unlimited

  16. The comments mourning about the higher costs for the last prize should consider the boost by the enhanced panini toaster. Didn’t do any math about it but think it should fit.

The pharao skin is overpriced. Got cavegirl Booberella for the same price and will have fun with her – after her shovel-jobs come to an end 🙂 SKINNNNNER?! Meh.

Aaaaand… the eqyptian pyramid is from what I can see an ancient mesopotamian ziggurat 🤓
