With the time Travel Event EA is letting us take not only a trip back in World History but also a trip back in TSTO history…with items from TSTO events past in the Medieval Mystery Box!
This is a premium box full of your change to get those limited-time premium character/building/decorations with a Medieval flair to them. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside..
This is the second of THREE Mystery Boxes that are slated to be released before this event is over. This theme is more Medieval Stuff, the next (and last) one is for 4th of July. It will hit later in the event (and yes, I’ll write posts just like this one for that one…so please don’t ask. It’s on my to do list..)
And…if you already have everything in the box you’ll get the popup but you won’t see the box in your store.
So for 60 donuts you can have your shot at a variety of Medieval Themed premium characters and buildings from the past, 60 Donuts is less than the initial value for each item…

Catapult- Returns from Clash of Clones 2014. Offers 2.25% bonus
Barbarian Statue- Returns from Clash of Clones 2014. Offers a 2% bonus.
Notre Dame of Springfield & Seamus- Should I Buy was originally 150 Donuts.
Two-nicorn- Should I Buy, Originally 70 donuts. NPC, pukes rainbows when tapped.
Shadow Knight’s Throne & Shadow Knight (Skin for Bart)- Should I Buy, Originally 200 donuts, throne has a 2.75% bonus. Shadow Knight is a skin for Bart.
Castle of Equalia & Queen Helvetica (skin for Lisa)- Should I Buy, Originally 175 donuts. Queen Helvetica is a skin for Lisa.
Freakshow Tent- From Halloween 2013. Was originally free, offers no bonus %.
The three worst items are the Catapult, Barbarian Statue and the Freakshow tent. The Tent is by far the worst item though, at least the others have a bonus %
Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so y’all can see how much they originally cost & what specifically each building/character does.
60 Donuts is a bargain for any of these items…as they originally all were more than 60 donuts (especially for a couple of those character combos and decorations). (except for the 3 worst items I listed above) So it’s certainly worth giving it a try if you have the donuts and want the items!

I regret purchasing this but at least my first one was so bad it prevented me from wasting donuts on more 😂
Lucky I had all the crappy items from the previous events, so only 4 remained (Knight, Seamus, Castle and Twonicorn). Wanted Seamus, so first try gave Twonicorn, second Knight and third Seamus. Now trying to scrap some donuts for the castle, even though I already have premium skin for Lisa (just cant refuse the offer of 175 donuts castle for 60 donuts – it is the only remaining item in the box).
I already had all the items except Black Knight, Castle Equalia, Seamus and Two-nicorn, so I gave it a try. Got Two-nicorn first and Seamus second. Best combo would’ve been Black Knight and Seamus for me, but I’m quite happy. Notre Dame fits perfectly next to the Eiffel-Tower
I wanted Seamus, Lisa’s castle and the Twonicorn. Had three tries and got the Barbarian statue, Lisa’s castle and the Twonicorn, so good results.
Won’t try anymore for Seamus, as the Tent, the catapult and Bart’s costume are the 3 other options, so chances are too low.

(You don’t have to post this comment, more of an FYI) I have been getting pop ups recently when visiting this site and another TSTO site that uses WordPress. It usually happens when I click into one of the posts, and a pop up will a message that says something along the lines of: “congratulations, so have been selected for…”. I then cannot press the back button, but have to close the tab on my iPad and reload this site? I have the same issue on my iPhone as well. I think I have seen others reporting it on this site, but not 100% sure if it the same issue.

Think I’m going to wait and see if some Pirate related Characters – Buildings – Decor shows up … I got everything I wanted from the Medieval Event (I guess Noobs can stock up on what they missed out on?) … 🤔
Wait what? They’re giving away the last reward from Clash of Clones just like that? That’s unfair, I worked hard to get that Homer statue!
I actually first started playing TSTO right in the middle of the Clash of Clones event, so there was no chance I was going to get that statue at the time — I was just happy that I managed to get Marge’s Wizard costume, even though I didn’t yet have Marge herself! — but I do get where you’re coming from.
Look at it this way, though: You’ve been able to enjoy the accomplishment of having earned that statue for the past three years, whereas I’ll only have it if I spend a few donuts, and it won’t mean nearly the same thing. Even at that, it’s now a three year old prize… so while it loses meaning as a status symbol going forward, you could also argue that the simple passage of time had essentially already stolen the larger significance of that, anyway.

Exactly & it costs a minimum of 60 donuts, maybe more if you get say the fair first, so not quite giving it away.
No, EA gives it to you when you fork out 60 donuts.
I had 61 donuts and none of the previous items … “No Freakshow Tent, No Freakshow Tent, No Freakshow Tent” … Ta Da! FREAKSHOW TENT.
I could have just bought the Egyptian sandbox for the school or anything with event currency. On the plus side, even though it has a big footprint, I placed the Freakshow and decorated around it with stuff I had stashed in inventory, and ended up with a 5% bonus from decos I forgot had bonuses. But it’s still a ridiculously large, bland and useless vanity item.
Unrelated question. Did something change with KEM farming? When I previously sold my KEM’s it restarted the cost to repurchase at 220 again. Now, even though all are sold (minus the original), it still costs 14400. Is this a glitch or new in the code?
You likely missed the $ button and stored the KEMs instead. Look into your inventory, place the stored KEMs back and sell them as usual – everything should be back to normal then.
Here is normal, still 220 for k&m. Did donut farm for a month, but stopped two days ago to earn more money and buy land. Check again in your city and inventory, maybe you had built them somewhere different and didn’t find yet.
I bet you accidentally stored them instead of selling them. Check your inventory.
You may have put some in storage by accident instead of selling them off (I’ve done that in the past) but the price reduction factors in your inventory too
Sell those off and you should be set again
Maybe you stored them by mistake. I’ve done it and I’ve read of others doing the same.

Empty out your storage box full of KM shops… very quite easy to click store instead of sell…

I didn’t notice a problem when I just set up again but, to be on the safe side, double check that you didn’t accidentally store the previous kems by mistake.
Maybe you mis-tapped and put them into storage. Check your inventory.
My KEMs still start with 220$.
My last round just a few minutes ago started with $220. Try tp sync your game by going to Krustyland or your friends.

I really want to try for Lisa’s castle, but, so far, I haven’t seen anyone get that first and it’s the only thing of four that I want. I would like the castle, but not for 240 donuts.
I got it first go! I had a 1 in 7 chance. I did what I’ve done in the past and had her displayed on the far left before purchase. No guarantees but I figured it was worth the shot. So happy!! 😀 Also thank you Sandra for your advice around Xmas. You helped me decide to go for buying the Santa Ned and Homer bundle. Have enjoyed them in my town

I got Lisa’s Castle at first unboxing and Twonicorn at second unboxing, now the % is to high to get something bad so i stopped after twonicorn 😉

Got Groundskeeper Seamus the first try, which I was happy about, though my goal was the Shadow Knight. The second try I got the catapult, but I think it’s the best decoration out of the box so that counts for something. Finally, my third try I scored the Shadow Knight! 🙂 I won’t be trying for anything else out of this box…
I love how when you tap it, it becomes a CATAPULT 🙂

Why would EA slap 60 doughnuts on the Freak Show decoration when it offers nothing. I was lucky the first round I got The Shadow Knight then second time around the Freak Show Tent. I placed this in my storage. I’ll check on it every so often if EA changes it’s pay out.
Anyone know if EA fixed the “bug” that decreased excavation Papyri payouts from the panini press upgrade bonus % ?
EA sure has been grEAsy with this event.
Tried it three times.
First try I got the two-nicorn
Second try I got the notre dame and Seamus
Third try I got queen helvetica and the castle
Personally I’m quite pleased with the results of this mystery box, and tripling down on a mystery box is not something I normally do I just really enjoyed the contents of this one.
I don’t do any of these random boxes things.

I did it during christmas (when they could’ve been bought for the currency we got by tapping the gnome), there were 5 things on offer for me, three of them I liked. Of course I had to do all 5 round to get Sophie Krustovski, who I wanted the most… At least I didnt have to do all 5 round for donuts, I think I managed 3 times without sprinklies. But since then I didn’t bother with any of these boxes.
I really wanted the Castle of Equalia or the Notre Dame, and decided to pull the trigger after pondering for what seemed like forever and I got the Castle. I was more relieved I didn’t get the tent than happy I got the Castle…
You’d think they’d at least slap a bonus on that dang freakshow tent. It’s such a huge waste of space.

I remember wanting Lisa’s castle in the worst way; however, after buying 7 mystery boxes to get Brandine, I’ve learned my lesson.
I did pick up Two-nicorn a long time ago. It’s got a 16 hour task with Furious D that earns a lot of cash, so it’ll generate cash if you have both characters.
I only had 4 items remaining thankfully. If the catapult or freak show were in there, I would not have taken the risk. Of the four, I was least excited about the twonicorn. Three rolls of the dice and I got the Shadow Knight, Queen Helvetica and Seamus, and no Twonicorn… consider me one happy camper! I’m a Freemium player and tend to be very judicious about how I spend my donuts. I consider this 180 donuts well spent!
Does the Two-nicorn really count as an NPC? I thought it was at first, but, apparently, there’s a 16-hour task where Furious D follows it around… it’s kind of amusing! LOL
As a player who started to play in december 2014 I missed a lot from these items… I had all the choices in the box, wanted notre dame and shadow knight.. got catapult and barbarian statue :/ and then at least skin for lisa… But with freakshow tent still in the list, I’m afraid to buy any more boxes :/ does anyone know if there will be any more mystery boxes in this event?

I hated the Freak Show tent then and hate it now. Don’t remember how I earned it, but I was able to sell it. Need to be able to sell anything in inventory to clean it up.
That used to be how it was, but EA got so many calls about limited or premium items being sold (with some of them presumably being scams to get free stuff) that they took away the option. I’m glad. I almost sold my nighthawk diner once on accident. What I wish they would do is organize the storage better, or give us a special storage box for things we was to store semi-permanently and not see every time we scroll through.
i’m loving shadow knight and the two-nicorn.
My mystery box had 4 items remaining: Shadow Knight+throne, Princess Lisa+castle, Twonicorn, and Seamus+Notre Dame. I pulled the trigger and got Groundskeeper Seamus and Notre Dame which is the only item i wanted. Now I await the 4th of July Mystery Box.
I cant believe they included the freakshow with no bonus % or payout!
