Should I Spend Donuts on the Chariot or Pharaoh Tent?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Time to grab toast as we travel back…wayyyy back…in time with Homer in the all new TTT (Time Travel Toaster) event!  We’ve flashed forward from the land of Dinos to the era of pyramids, Pharaohs and Sphinxes…and of course we’ve got loads of Egyptian Era items in our Springfield just temping us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Chariot or Pharaoh Tent to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these Egyptian Decorations to your town…

Time is running out on the Egyptian Era so it’s time for a double decoration SIB…

Other Info:
Can be placed on the grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt|beach.
You’ll earn the  when you place.

Pros
-Ok Bonus % for donuts spent
-Always animated, horses eyes blink and tails move.

Cons
-Just a decoration.  No tasks associated there
-No questline or dialogue when placed

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
If you like how it looks, go for it.  Otherwise pass.  The bonus % is ok (but not good or great) for donuts spent and it is animated when tapped.  So if it’s something you like and think you could use in Springfield, grab it…regardless of Premium/Freemium status.

Building/Decoration:Pharaoh Tent
Donut Cost: 55 Donuts
Earns: No bonus, also 530  when placed
Size:
5×4
Conform-O-Meter:
Indolence +20
Other Info:
Can be placed on the grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt|beach.
You’ll earn the  when you place.

Leaves stores June 23rd

Pros
-Comes with a short questline/task for Marge

Cons
-Task for Marge isn’t permanent
-No bonus % associated with it

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
Ok.  Honestly, pass.  It’s a tent.  You can get one for free via the crafting menu or for game cash via the store menu.  Don’t waste your donuts on these.

Here’s a look at the questline…

Frog Day Afternoon
Marge starts

Marge: Ooh!  I didn’t realize the Egyptians had such lovely cabanas!
Lisa: “Cabana” isn’t exactly the right — you know what? Enjoy it.
Marge: I don’t see any beach towels in there.  I guess no one reserved it for the day.
Lisa: Just stop talking, Mom.  I don’t know how much longer I can go without correcting you.
Make Marge Relax in the Pharaoh Tent- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp
Marge: It’s full of frogs!  What kind of a crazy beach club is this?
Lisa: “CABANA” IS A SPANISH WORD!  Sorry.  Couldn’t hold out any longer.

Of course with both of these decorations in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’m passing.  Neither decoration appeals to me.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before they leave our games for good (or for now).

What are your thoughts on Chariot or Pharaoh Tent?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring either to your Springfield?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed either in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I love chariots, & it did have a bonus, so it was a definite buy for me. The Pharaoh Tent? Is EA crazy or what?? Nooooo way I’d spend 55 donuts on a tent that has no benefit whatsoever. It should have been part of the prize track or for in game cash.

  2. Probably a pass on both…no room for anything more in my Egyptian area (although the chariot seems more Roman than Egyptian…)

  3. Not tempted at all. Thanks for confirming I’m not missing much.

  4. (Sorry, not sure where else to post this…) Does anyone have an opinion on the Mayan Calendar/knight offer for 70 doughnuts? I’ve always wondered how to get the calendar (looks pretty cool), but it seems overpriced unless something has changed since the previous SIB post I found that said the knight is an NPC and there is not a bonus on the calendar. Anyone picked this up? Or, know if it offers a bonus % now? Thanks!

    • The Black Knight is a skin for Bart and the Throne has an XP bonus…2% ? The Mayan calendar tasks are fun if you have both Mayan Homer and Mayan Marge, otherwise not all the tasks will activate. Unfortunately, the calendar itself has no bonus XP percent and I’m pretty sure the Mayan god is just an NPC. Not a really great investment if they want more than 50 donuts for the whole kaboodle, unless you really like the Knight.

    • I got my Mayan God and Calendar in 2012 for free after a quest.nThe Mayan God is an NPC and doesn’t interact with any of the characters. You do need them Calendar for Mayan Marge’s quest (and Mayan Homertoo).

  5. Once I saw the frogs I was all in.

  6. Even if you get your donuts “for free” by KEM-farming for instance, that tent isn’t worth the tapping time. I had to build, tap and sell 250 Kwik-E-Marts to get it which takes me about 5 minutes. Still not worth it… 😎 It’s definitely one of my worst purchases.

    • I agree…pass…I did get the chariot, tho, and love it.

Also, the Opera House is really cool and huuuuge. Gil doesn’t usually tempt me, but this is a really nice building…

Wow, how does that work? I thought already that there’s something not quite right with the way I do the farming. It just sounds way too easy for everybody else. I’m on level 400, I’ve played for about 5 years and my bonus percentage is about 150%. Still, even with my XP collider activated I make in 10 days a net amount (means: -25 Donuts for collider) only 50-60 donuts. And that’s with logging in every 4h selling and building KEMs (only 20-30 at a time) and starting with a few millions of cash and ending with 0, meaning that I can do it only occasionally because the effort is just so huge it doesnt justify for the amount i get out of it. Do I have to invest in more bonus %? Is that the only secret? Cause thats pretty hard to do if you’ve a constant shortage and rather davon for characters. I would love to be able to finally buy at least my favourite Springfielders. *Beliiiiiieeeeve me! Thanks for listening!*

      • You need a higher bonus %. Make sure you have all the Springfield Heights buildings placed. They have a hidden % for XP.
Also a good invest are the Beach Hideaways. Fully upgraded and all additions placed gives a bonus of 20% for each hideaway, so for all 5 that’s 100%.

      • Invest more into bonus%. Knightboat, Lisa Lionheart (from mystery box) are great values. I would hold off on buying characters for now, unless it’s something you must really have or are in the vault/mystery box as they’re cheaper than usual. Also increase your house/cash farming so you can build more KEM’s at a time.

I’m at 352% bonus right now. Level 939 so I get 3 donuts per 1 million XP. I build 60 KEM’s every 4 hours which gets me 12 donuts. i do this 3-4 times a day. Also send characters on tasks every 4 hours(if you can). But definitely do the 4 hour tasks at the radio and tv stations they give a good chunk of XP. I saw someone on here claim they had 888% I can only imagine how many donuts they must get a day. Hope this helps.

        • I only do 25 KEMS every 4 hours. I have 510% bonus and most of my characters spend 4 hours doing the premium She-She lounge quest that Selma will never finish. I only do 25 KEMS because they are over 14000 at that point, so this way I get 6-9 donuts every 4 hours and still build up in game cash. I am at max level and my colider never shuts down.

      • You need an XP % that is very high….over 1000% XP will net 3 donuts per 8 kwik-e-marts bought and sold. If he put out 160 KEMs, in 4 hours he would have 60 donuts. To increase your XP% right now, the best use for your donuts would be jet bikes…in the vault at 20 donuts(10 donut rebate) for 2% increase…a really good return. Another good way to increase your XP is the mystery boxes…they usually have a higher return than anything else, even with the “dud” prizes.
I am making enough cash now that I can turn it into donuts regularly, but I was at 200% a year ago with a lot less money. My spending (donuts) strategy was always…XP items first (especially rebate deals), characters second (or character/building combos) because they pay better than buildings, and buying buildings last. There are buildings that I may never buy, because there are always “better buys” in terms of XP or cash returns.
Anytime you can pick up XP for 1% per 10 donuts spent (or less), don’t hesitate…buy as many as you can(you can always hide them behind a building if you need to).
The exception to the rule is characters that help with event currency…they take priority since they will help you finish early and get bonuts (hopefully), thereby helping to pay for themselves. Good luck and go buy a jet bike!😁

        • I use about the same strategy, only I buy/sell Bloodmobiles. This goes quicker and needs less effort. With 1000% bonus and 100 million game cash I make 1.500 donuts in just two hours 🍩🍩🍩😁

          • Been trying KEMs, since it doesn’t blow thru cash so quickly…I generally have the same amount of money at the beginning of each day. 2 sets of 160 KEMs in a day will bring in around 130 donuts for a minimal amount of work, and I only farm when I spend over 100 donuts. I agree, Rat Trap Trucks and Bloodmobiles are easier, and it used to be the only way I farmed. I just found my money dwindling too fast lately and of course…there was all that land to buy…and the dam…sigh…what can I say…I’m an addict🙃.

      • My bonus% is fairly modest at 600%, plus I use the SH buildings for the hidden multiplier. I always spend extra cash to “guess again” if I didn’t get 3 bonuts right away. I use about $50mln in game cash in one 24-hour kem farming run, netting me about 700 bonuts. But I spent all of my in game cash on Road to Riches and the new land so now I have to save up…

Thanks a lot, guys! I love this community! 🙂 I was on vacation and couldn’t answer right away, but I read your helpful comments and started building up my bonus and my hidden percentage immediately. I bought all the SH buildings incl. two now fully upgraded beach hideaways (so far) and I am now even finally part of the billionaires club. My bonus percentage raised from 150% to 216% and it will be a little bit more when the jet bikes appear in my vault. I see how I get slightly more donuts from my KEM farming but my bigger problem is now that I obviously don’t generate enough $. After buying about 36 KEMs every 4h I’m broke and the houses are so expensive now. I wish I had bought more when they were still selling at the same price unrelated to the amount you own. Well, after buying Akira today I got only 70 donuts left. That’s the lowest I have been since I reached 70 donuts for the first time. So I hope my stash will recover quickly until the jet bikes are on offer.
P.S.: I wish I hadn’t bought Blackbeard just to get the last pirate price. Then I would be able to buy the Ajax steel mill which I like much better…

  7. If only Pharaoh Skinner uses the chariot….

    • I was really hoping he did, that would have been awesome! Still like the look of the chariot, I’m happy I bought it but would have loved it more if it got used.

  8. Tempted by the chariot. Think I might build me a little Ben-Hur style chariot ring!

  9. Maybe the title of this post should be “Should I Spend Donuts on the Chariot? Don’t Spend Donuts on the Pharaoh Tent!” 😁

  10. They both don’t really grab me. The only thing that’s tempting me is the quest that comes with the tent. Stupid question probably, but when will the items be removed? Somehow I don’t have the usual countdown for limited time stuff in the store anymore, and they are not always in synch with the different acts of the event. The missing timers really annoy me…
