Time to grab toast as we travel back…wayyyy back…in time with Homer in the all new TTT (Time Travel Toaster) event! We’ve flashed forward from the land of Egypt to the era of rum, jolly rogers, pirate ships and scurvy…and of course we’ve got loads of Pirate Era items in our Springfield just temping us with those sprinkles!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Blackbeard and the Ghost Pirate Airship (or just Blackbeard if you already have the ship) to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this ghostly pirate to your town…
Character: Blackbeard
Building/Decoration:Ghost Pirate Airship (if you don’t already have it, otherwise you’re offered just Blackbeard alone)
Donut Cost: If you DO NOT have the Airship 250 Donuts, 75 Donut Rebate, NET 175 Donuts. If you DO have the Airship 100 donuts, character alone.
Earns: Pirate Airship Earns $135, 15xp/4hrs AND 5% bonus on all cash and XP, also 965 
Size: 3×3
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +2,500
Other Info: This is a FULL character. Airship floats in the air but the anchor has to be on land (not sea) and takes up 3×3 of land space. Can be placed on the
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt|beach.

Pros
-4hr task to earn shovels, earns 4 shovels…the most you can earn (only Cavegirl Booberella and Pharaoh Skinner earn as much)
-Earns Tacyons when placed (for leveling up Panini Press)
-Funny visual tasks
-Ghost Pirate Airship earns a great bonus % AND regular income
-Airship has a task for Sea Captain and Herman
Cons
-Pricey for a stand alone character (100 donuts is on the high side)
Final Thought
Premium:
Odds are most premium players already have the Airship and if that’s the case 100 donuts is a little pricey for a Stand Alone Character..BUT he’s one of the few full characters offered with this event (many others have been a skins). So it’s something you may want to consider. I did purchase him for the 100 donuts.
If you do not have the Airship and you’re looking at 175 donuts for the combo, buy it. It breaks down to 75 donuts for the Airship that comes with a 5% bonus AND earns income. It’s a good deal in that regard.
Freemium:
If you’re offered Blackbeard alone, I’d pass. 100 donuts is pricey for a stand alone character. But if you’re offered the combo, I’d seriously consider it. It offers a lot of bang for your donut buck.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell I picked him up (as a stand alone, I’ve had the Airship forever). But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games for good (or for now).

I purchased this combo for my B game & completed the questline. The 6 hr job for the Sea Cpt is not available as it is with my A game. Any reason why? I’ve stored both to no avail. Any help much appreciated. Thanks…..💜X
I like the rebate that I noticed today for Blackbeard 100 for the character and 75 rebate . I wanted to save my dounuts for 25 net for a character why not
It’s sucks because you can not complete the quest line. Ship cost 250 donuts.
they should’ve start the time travelling with this pirate scenario:( I already spent my bonuts on Boobarella, and mystery boxes, although, i wanted that ghost ship since it was first introduced, but never had the donuts for it. SAD

I bought the bundle since I didn’t have either, and placed it in my town. I didn’t get the tachyons and it’s not showing the shovels. Anyone else having this issue?
250 donuts but with 75 back…it isn’t the same as 175 donuts. I have 220, but no luck since you must have 250 to buy ( and they leave 75 in the bank). That’s enough for me to say no way EA.
Given that you can only get him with the ship or if you have the ship, I’m a little bummed he doesn’t have a task there.
It doesn’t help that i can’t seem to get Sea Captain’s task there to unlock.
It’ll probably unlock when the event’s over.

OK I did the math … KEM farming is still at the beginning, 220% C-o-M-bonus now (with the ship) … could get the combo in time only by farming BUT real life disturbs this ingenious plan. Due to some planned golf weekends (it doesn’t seem appropriate to let your 4h-alarm ring and do some tapping while yer fellas try to hit a ball with a long, long stick) I finally decided to buy some 300 donuts. Helps me with the event, too, while I’m on the course 😀
Was waiting the whole event excitedly to be able to get Blackbeard, especially after the two other eras (Prehistoric was mediocre, Egypt was better but not great). I had saved just over 100 donuts to be able to get him, only to find I’m still 150 donuts short. Really wish we had the option to buy him standalone, as I totally would given I really like the Pirate theme. If I could afford the airship I would, but I can’t before the event ends. That said, the majority of the Pirate prizes seem pretty mediocre as well (the last 2 craftables are what I’m looking forward too)
I’m trying a bit of farming right now, if it works out i might get him. Allot up in the air…
Bought Blackbeard straight away, 100 donuts is a bit steep, but some KEM farming made up for that, got my 100 donuts right back. Already had the ship when they did that frink deal. I like this event, best year ever so far! Japan, Dinosaurs, Pirates, Bont… The only event that was better was the casino event, but this is getting close!
Trying to earn some donuts (and ingame cash for turbo XPing for more donuts) to have enough for 4th of July mystery box, so not buying it (yet). But the offer is good, dont have the ship, so with new character seems to be a bargain. May purchase some donuts (and get the reward character for purchasing 300 donuts) later.
I would buy if there was a quest with him in a high chair
I have around 280 donuts, so I might have to get him. I like the ship but not really into pirates all that much. Times like this I wish I farmed.
Try it once…if it is not to your liking, you don’t have do it again. I always thought it would be complicated or time consuming, until I tryed it…now I do it pretty regularly. Depending on your XP%, and whether or not you have the Collider, a 4 hour wait can be pretty productive. (We’re all playing every 4 hours right now anyway).
It’s not too late to start…
I wasn’t sure about farming, but I also knew I was a loooooong way from ever having enough in-game cash to do the Bloodmobile thing.
So, I tried it out on a trial basis, without using the XP Collider, just to see if it was something I found helpful. I think initally I was earning an additional donut every 8hrs (2 rounds of farming per donut). After a month or so, I decided to give it a whirl WITH the Collider on, and started getting 1-2 donuts per cycle & was starting to lvlup VERY quickly.
I’m now lvl 939, and farm regularly, and earn 4-6 donuts per cycle with a modest little farm and a bonus CoM (just shy of) of 250%. I could get more, but I’m also still trying to build in-game cash (esp now that Cecil’s Road to Riches is FINALLY available in my game! lol).
Knowing I can fairly easily get more donuts makes it easier to buy items that boost my bonus percentage, which in turn makes it easier to get more donuts, etc etc. I still buy donuts when I want something right away, but farming has been great for being able to get things I would normally waffle over until they left the store (like the Wiccans, which I love every time I see them in a neighbor’s town! 😢).
TL;DR: Try a trial run of farming without the XP Collider on, see if it’s something you think is worth keeping up with before investing donuts. 😊
Currently undecided. Haven’t received any 🍩 rewards for over a week now from neighbour visits, very disappointing ☹️
One donut trick seems to work (not every time, tho). Go to a neighbor’s town, hit one “rats” and move on to the next town…finish your neighbors…go back to your town. Come back a few minutes later to get the last two “rats” that you didn’t finish in the first town, and many times, you will get a donut. Not finishing a town seems to trigger a donut when you return😊…not always, but more than you would normally get.
This is the trick I use. Started doing it since I wanted to keep the timer close, but noticed that my weekly number went up… this week Sunday-Saturday was 8 donuts including a whopping 3 today… thumbs up, highly recommend, anything else ya need me to say to tell you to do this?

Love the Ghost ship but would never bought it alone for 250 Donuts … But this Combo is great, so I used my saved Donuts to get this 🙂 After reading this “Should I buy” I’m convinced I made a great deal 🙂

The ghost ship is not really my thing, even not with the %, but i do like blackbeard, so i’m going for it. Blackbeard reminds me somehow of my youth
