I noticed that you can earn more when playing in premium mode. How do you play in premium to earn more cash and XP? Some of the payouts you mention say premium next to them with a larger amount so I was wondering how to do that.

  2. I Just finished the excavation site, finished levelling up the panini press this morning and have crafted at least one of everything… Just have to log in every few hours to finish the main prizes now(I’m on 4 now)
I played Time Travelling Toaster update minimally, I’m a freemium player but i did get Booberella and the Springfield Historical Society… it was an OK update, but nothing really jumping out at me as a great Item from it….

The gameplay: (Shovel Tasks)>(Dig)>(Craft)>(upgrade panini press)
I found it to be cool how it all linked together, but it was maybe a little monotonous…

  3. Anyone else having a hard time finishing these quest lines? Like…usually logging in four times a day for those four hour required tasks (shovels this time) and occasionally visiting neighboureenos is enough, but holy mackeral it JUST ISN’T this time! I’m 1000’s short on the main quest line each time. Is there a secret? I’m just scrolling through Tapped Out’s past Threads now, so if there are some recommends please share! Since the pirate quest started I’ve been clicking rats in my home town as often as I can, visiting maximum neighboureenos every day, and doing up to four shovel quests a day! Is it enough?! WILL IT BE ENOUGH!?! Gah! Still loving this game though. 🙂

    • Visiting your neighbours every 24 hours is good as it brings in 1,710 extra patches per day (19 x 90 actions). You shouldn’t need to tap rats anymore as your Panini Press should almost be fully upgraded – if not, make sure you’re using shovels and crafting. You should be at max crafting level by now. Logging in every 4 hours, with 8 hours for sleep should be sufficient to get everything in time. I did buy Booberella and Blackbeard so I’ll probably have the gallows in 24 hours, and the final prize a day or so after that. I’ve already unlocked everything else (craftables, excavation prizes) so it’ll be quite a relaxing event for me.

This is the 3rd week and I have yet to get any of the prizes that are last on the event hub. Only being able to send what, 4 or 5 characters every 4 hours to generate shovels seems a little weak. As people have posted most of us have over 150 characters, so why not let us send 10 or so characters to generate shovels? I know because EA wants us to buy and spend doughnuts lol. This is one of the 1st events where I feel like I’m not collecting enough materials from those 4 hours tasks, panini press and excavating to be even close to getting the prizes.
Maybe it’s because it’s summer or because I’ve been playing this game and quest for stuff for so long but man I feel like I’m getting burned out of them lately.

  4. I’m doing poorly on this whole event. I’m just glad there’s nothing I couldn’t live without.

  5. Not happy touching rats, even cartoon rats.

  6. EA …WE NEED MORE RATS!!! A LOT MORE RATS!!!

  7. Ralph and Dolph’s Play Pirates task is hilarious! It takes place at the Pirate Fire Pit.

  8. Can’t wait to get the parrot, does he actually talk? 😝

  9. Homer saving his marriage to Marge (now that’s true love!) ❤

    Pirates, ahoy!

  10. How big is its footprint on either side of the water?

    • The total size of the bridge is 4 wide by 6 long…the water under it is 4 by 4, so the bridge only takes up an extra 4 wide by 1 long at each end.

      • Thanks! I got it a few hours ago, and, although it fit where I thought I wanted it, it didn’t look good there. But I found a much better placement for it! 🙂

  11. Homer’s Crew in my town was made up of the 5 closest characters to Homer that were done with their previous task. I got a crew of Dr. Nick, Dredrick Tatum, Kodos, Eddie the cop and Booberella

  12. Stop EA. Just stop. Enough with the whole “Send 5 Springfielders to…” missions. I know others have whined about it before but it is seriously aggravating every time it’s part of a mission strand and I have over 200 characters who I want to send on OTHER missions. There is absolutely NO reason to continue doing this. NONE. It keeps players from playing the way THEY choose to for NO reason, at all. It might have been fun three years ago when people had 30 characters in their towns but it’s just aggravating now. Knock it off EA, it’s pointless.

    • Actually a lot of players LIKE sending all their characters on 1 task at the same time, at the same location. Always makes people giggle to see all of your characters spilling out of one building. I’ve heard way more pros for it than cons over the years…

      • It would not be so bad if all the characters went when you put them on a 4 hour mission, but clicking on every single one of your 200+ characters, even if it is in list form is very tiresome.

        • I agree. EA should either fix it so you can send characters on the quest task from the employment office or have the task go away after you send the required number of Springfielders.

      • Interesting, I’m surprised anyone finds that fun. Sending perhaps 200 +? characters on the same task ? Seems to be happening quite frequently as well or maybe I just did not notice when I had less characters.

        • Sending >200 characters on the same job enables access to a bug that generates lots of experience/donuts, money and materials (shovels). The best way to send all characters on the same 4h job is to use the she-she lounge. All jobs can be assigned at the same time by using the job manager/office of unemployment. This enables a very efficient way to generate money, even without using the bug, since all jobs can be completed with one tap. For people that have missed the she-she lounge (like me) the quenstline tasks are, as far as I know, the only way to send (nearly) all characters on the same job. This can be repeated, just make sure you don´t activate the associated single character job (make Homer assemble a crew/make Homer teach the ways of the pirate). All jobs have to be activated manually for the first time and can then be assinged via the job manager.

      • I’m a huge fan. I wait till everyone is free and get a real kick out of it. It’s rare.

    • I actually like it and have about 175 characters. Cool to see all the characters in one place. Besides, it’s only like two minutes to send all the characters on the quest.

      • Two minutes is two minutes too long my friend.

        • I enjoy collecting from all my characters with one tap. Saves about two minutes scrolling around my Springfield.

      • The problem isn’t with the time it takes to send them on the quest…it’s the fact that they set this questline up such that there’s almost no way to avoid having one of those 4-hour Springfielders tasks occur before bed, meaning that you either have to be willing to lose out on all of the cash and XP you’d get sending characters on 12-hour overnight tasks, or you have to manually send most of the characters on those tasks, which, when you have 200+, can take a while to do. (Plus, even when it’s during the day, I have to tap carefully to avoid sending any of my freemium characters who have premium skins, or I’ll lose out on the premium income (and have to remember to track them each down and set their skins back to premium).

Sending a big bunch of characters should be an *option* – once you’ve sent the required number, the rest should be able to be sent via the unemployment office.

        • I agree, and it has such a simple solution…the fourth “send Homer & Springfielders” task should be an 8 hour task, so you can send them overnight. Either that, or have 3 sets of 4 hour tasks with Homer & Springfielders and then a single task for Homer for 8 hrs. Either way would better accomodate people’s schedules…without losing huge amounts of cash sending 200+ characters on 4 hr tasks overnight, or manually tasking 200+ characters.

        • Definitely, I truly hate the “send Springfielders” tasks for all these reasons. Maybe I should count myself lucky that I only have 180 characters. Since the temple has the same stupid quest line I’ve managed to kill two birds with one stone. But I wish there could be an option to reject quests especially since the reward is a paltry $100 which isn’t anything special even for a level 10 player let alone a level 939 player. At least there will be less of this in event downtime in two weeks.

        • Wow, you sleep 12 hours every night? Seems like a lot…

          • I send my worker-bees on 12 hr jobs everynight between 7 and 8pm. I don’t sleep 12 hours, but I don’t play after that time (people to interact with and other stuff to do after dinner). 12 hours away from the game kinda makes up for total addiction the other 12 hours…sorta?…😂😂😂

          • No, but I don’t play all the way up until I go to sleep. I do need about 9 hours sleep, but I don’t often get that.

    • My biggest gripe is that any characters using a premium skin usually change to their non-premium skin if you send them on one of these quests. And they pay out the non-premium rate. So it’s either spend a lot of time manually sending them on tasks first or send everyone at once but spend even more time changing their skin after the task is done. I have 250+ characters and probably around 20+ of them have premium skins. It takes more than a few minutes, you have to find and select every character etc.

    • One more solution …send everyone thru the employment bureau…find a Kwik-e-Mart with 5 people in it(or the church, or a brown house) and store it…dumping the people inside. Replace the house and send the “dumpees” on the quest. Ta-da!

      • ?? But the problem is you can’t use the unemployment office when there’s a task like that, because the game doesn’t let you send characters who have “yellow” tasks on any tasks via the unemployment office! What am I missing?

        • You’re not missing anything…my “aha” solution is nonsense, the whole problem is that you can’t use the bureau before completing the task…duh. I got halfway to the grocery store (after making this comment) and the massive stupidity of it hit me😳… ever have one of those “OMG…I actually said that!” moments?
Oh well, maybe I’ll wait next time till the second cup of coffee kicks in before I jump into “problem solving mode”….nah….probably not…😊

          • Lol – no worries! Just wanted to make sure I want missing anything. And, yes – I’ve had my brain malfunction like that before, too 😀

  13. Was doing neighbor visits and got distracted…when I came back to the screen, an army of rats has descended on my neighbor’s digsite!
    https://imgur.com/a/zdqVE

    • Yeah, that’s the tactic for your own town as well as visitors. Don’t move the screen and the rats (or whatever is walking around) will congregate there. Of course we don’t need it anymore in our own towns with a 6 second cooldown on the Panini Press

    • Ewwww!

  14. Seriously tired of the “make Springfielders” tasks. Either they need to make it an option to send all Springfielders at once or just the required number. Just don’t have time to send 180 characters individually on a task.

  15. CyanideTipped

Check out some of the Squidport designs on the EA forums with pirate prizes, people will change their tune a bit. 🙂

  16. It doesn’t work properly on Android. Can’t open the character quest summaries and can’t buy more donuts.

  17. A bit meh, for some of the prizes 🙁

  18. I focused on maxing out the panini press during Act 2; it now refreshes once every six seconds. And thanks to hoarding shovels once I got Willie, I’m down to 10 gems for the final excavation site prize. I really do feel like a pirate at the start of this event.
