In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
Today we live in a world of wonders and things that just make you wonder. “But it wasn’t always that way. Quiet now, as we travel back in time. Back to the fantastic Primeval World – land of the dinosaurs.”
Yes that’s right folks… an event full of dino DNA… or at least stuff that dinosaur loving people like me love. Woohoo for new things in TSTO! As usual, new additions mean it’s time for me to stop eating cheetos in my recliner while working on my weekly podcast and get to writing about the origins for it all. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. For this round of origins,we’ll be taking at items from the Act One of the 2017 Time Traveling Toaster Event:
Prehistoric Plant – 1st Prehistoric Excavation Prize
Dragonfly Rock – 3rd Prehistoric Excavation Prize
Homer Lizard – Level 5 crafting
Dinosaur Skeleton – Level 2 crafting

I really love when little things from the show find their way into the game. The couch gag for this episode is all about the evolutionary journey of the Kwyjibo, errr, man that is Homer Jay Simpson.
No… not that evolutionary chart which was my computer wallpaper for a long time. An animated version. It’s a lovely segment with Homer mitochondria dividing which progresses to fish, walking fish, lizard, and then dinosaur. If you look at the bottom images, you’ll recognize the prehistoric plant and dragonfly rock. Sort of wish the TSTO bug also looked like Lenny.
In the age of dinosaurs (that look like Bart and Lisa), Homer has evolved to first a dino-lizard thingy which became a NPC in our games and then a rodent of some sort. Lucky for him, he was able to hide and survive the extinction of the thunder lizards. Bartrannosaurus Rex was not as lucky. Hello dinosaur skeleton.
The rest is Homer evolving to monkey, then ape, the Paleolithic man, and a cultural evolution from monk to conquistador to puritan to Victorian gentleman and finally to the lovable apeman we know from 28 seasons of the show.

Why is the version of this Couch Gag from “The Homer of Seville” (the one with the alternate ending where Marge asks, “Did you bring the milk?”) so hard to find on YouTube?
Homer Lizard was soooo disappointing. He’s like a tiny speck on the screen
I agree but at least it’s in keeping with the rest of springfield unlike some things. Like the French bike which is as tall as the characters
