It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

This game is becoming a family addiction. I’ve played since the beginning, my son played & then stopped, and I got my wife hooked on it. Now my son is playing again, but he’s telling me he only has me left as a neighbor. If anyone is looking for a new neighbor, his screenname is ZALBRAK975. You all were great in jumping in and sending neighbor requests to my wife when she started playing (thanks for that), so if anyone needs a new neighbor, my son says he plans on playing regularly again. Thanks in advance!
Daily challenge task to collect hights currency am totally maxed out and wish they would do away with it on the daily challenge

Excavation site now paying out prizes… pretty cool. It also shows your in-game cash total and an XP amount of 500K. Does anyone know what the XP total means… I keep shoveling away but the amount doesn’t change? Thanks.

Not too sure if this the right place, apologies if not.
I haven’t been able to buy donuts for 5 weeks. Everytime I try I get “There are no purchases to be restored”.
16 different EA personal have contacted me, all promising to help.
5 weeks later, still cannot purchase anything, so I’ve missed out on the Egyptian, pirate, and now the Parade items.
I’ve spent over £1.5k on the game and now am seemingly being ignored.
Any ideas anyone ?
Any one else had this ?

You have been provided with the only resolution available for this matter, which is to wait until the Studio has released a fix.

It’s not a “computer-savvy” thing – if anything, it’s a “TSTO-savvy” thing. In a nutshell, it’s earning a lot of cup by turning on the collider, then buying a bunch of Kwik-E-Marts. When they’re done building, you’ll reap a lot of XP (hopefully helping you to level up and earn donuts), then you sell back the Kwik-E-Marts you built (to recoup some of the money you spent to build them), then plant a bunch more and then keep repeating the whole process every four waking hours. It helps a lot if you have a high bonus multiplier (and make sure all of the core buildings of the Springfield Heights buildings are pout, since they earn additional “hidden” bonus XP multipliers…also, all of the beach hideaway pieces provide a lot towards the bonus multiplier, too, so but as many as you can, if you haven’t already).

It was supposed to be “out,” not “pout”… Swype must have misunderstood me and in didn’t catch that “typo” before I posted the comment. Make sure those buildings are out, not in inventory.
HOOOOORAY! This week’s vault contains Happy Sumo / Akira for 100 – 25 donuts and French Waiter for 50 – 15 donuts. My 140 donuts in stock well spent 😀
I love the 4th of July Presidents.
In the future i’d love to see important people from other countries too. Being Canadian id enjoy seeing the Prime Minister. But new characters would be awesome 🙂
When I have everyone sent on 8-hour tasks, and click on (I think) Flanders’ House, the screen flashes white. Googling tells me it’s the Yakuza completing his task… BUT…
As a general question, is there a list somewhere of possible characters/tasks per building? I tried Googling it, but didn’t see an overall list.
I wondered what that flash was!
This is a list that is updated frequently, but it is only for characters that go in the building and activates it. Yakuza is technically outside.

I had been saving my doughnuts to get George Washington and the Cherry Tree, and I was surprised and happy to see the Mystery Box return with the Fourth of July items. There were six items in my Mystery Box, and I had enough doughnuts for five of them. You guessed it: George Washington was the only one I didn’t get! So I farmed KEMs all weekend and earned enough doughnuts for George Washington. All’s well that ends well. Happy Independence Day, America!

Quick question, are you meant to sell the stores once they are built? Or keep them?
You need to sell them. Otherwise they will take over your town and the first one will cost you $14400 versus $220
Sell therm and then buy new ones…that’s the whole point! 🙂

Hi everyone! I’m a new commenter but have been on this site since I started playing the game again in superheroes 2.
Hi – glad you decided to de-lurk! Now that you’ve broken the ice, hope to see more posts from you. 🙂
This event made me realize I want 2 things in this game that should be easy to implement.
1)NPC finder. I load list. I go to NPC. I tap exploding zombie or listen to pirate jokes, or tap the monster turkey for resources. I can barely see the newest NPC’s because they made them so small and I have probably at least 30 NPC’s roaming around my giant city.
2)I want a resources on the ground counter somewhere. I had to tap that stupid warning about the 7000 cap at least 2 dozen times before I realized I need to just go way over so I stop designing my city and keep getting prompted every time I move my new prehistoric fern…
Perhaps you all can help me solve a problem….
Every so often, my game has no sound. Usually it’s not a problem as I generally play with the sound off… that is until Maggie gets lost every 16 hours or so. I double check the SFX volume under options, turn the sound all the way up on my ios… and nothing. If I hard close and restart several times, I get the sound back, but I don’t see what is causing it.
Any Ideas?
Sorry if this has been asked or if it has already been answered, but does Abu Simbel Temple have any character tasks there after its quest line or is it another unused building?
Third act and again I won’t finish the top prize. That’s the same for all three acts, and likely won’t build all the build prizes either. And I’ve played the same amount as other events, this one was much tougher. Maybe they set it up that way to make it more entertaining?
How many times a day did you harvest shovels?
What event would you guys and gals invent?
I’d like to see a music event which could include the B sharps and Bleeding Gums Murphy
That’s my dream event, honestly! I’m a big jazz fan like Lisa, and Bleeding Gums was/is such a special character.
I would like to see a Theatre based event. There’s some “untapped” potential there (see what I did there?). Chazz Busby and his Ballet Academy, Lainey Fontaine, the Springfield Playhouse, and, yes, Llewellyn Sinclair.
I really want the Harry Potter event that they teased!
I don’t know why… but personally this was the worst tapping event since I started to play the game in June 2015. I couldn’t finish the first act so I spend 85 donoughts to get Caveman Moe. I also couldn’t finish the second act but I won’t pay 120 dounoughts for a building and a skin. All in all I found this event pretty boring an difficult. Bring us Tap Ball back.
I agree, this has been the hardest event in years (I´ve been playing since 2014). I wasn´t very interested in the prizes, they were boring, (most of them) but hey, I’m an addict, so I´ve been tapping crazily and finally got the final prizes of every act, without the help of premium items (and without thinking of getting bonuts, obviously). But honestly, this has been my least favorite event since I started playing.
That’s funny, as Tap Ball was probably my least favorite event – different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
This. Lordy, but I hated Tap Ball. ⚽️
For me It was an easy event. Although I did get a Booberella which made it a lot easier. The fact that I could log in every couple of hours and hit the Panini Press, log out and excavate later was fantastic.
Did TSTO forget pride this year? WTF?
Hi all!! Got the final prize of this act first thing this morning so can now put the game down for the next couple of days. Not bothered about bonuts, I have far too much work to do before I leave this job on Friday. Lots of marking and report writing to be done plus tidying up my classroom and taking my personal stuff home.
New job in September, not really looking forward to being technically unemployed for the summer but got enough savings to keep me going. Just no splurging on non essentials like takeaway food!
Good luck on the new job! Went thru some belt-tightening when I retired and was surprised at how much I had previously spent on superfluous “stuff”. You may surprise yourself on how much less “stuff” you really need in your life, tho I still love take-out and always find a place in the budget for an occasional splurge 🤷♀️😁. Hope you have a fun and relaxing summer break 😎.
I got the Nighthawk Diner and I am so happy– it looks great in my springfield, right next to the java server as I like to group my buildings by color. Hehehe.
I wasn’t too fond of this event though. Any ideas what the next one will be? Or when it’ll start?
Am sure someone must have done the maths on Cecil’s task to build the dam, but can’t find the info on how much it costs to complete the dam – anyone?

I can’t finish this event. This is the first time I haven’t been able to complete an event. What’s worse is that I haven’t completed any of the three stages. Very frustrated.
Interesting … this too is the first event in (4? 5?) years of playing that I haven’t been able to finish. And like you I also haven’t completed even one stage. Kinda leaves me feeling less inclined to take part in future events with the same dedication as I have in the past. The only saving grace is there was nothing in this one I wanted …

Happy 4th July to all you Americans! I didn’t get anything from the 4th July sale because I’m not American and nothing appealed to me. My Springfielders are gonna have to live with having an Australian Sky Finger and no Presidents in their town.
I haven’t really been participating in the event, seems like too much to unlock in a limited time so I’ve been focusing on building up my Krustyland. I want to purchase Mt. Krustmore but need more donuts. I try to purchase the donuts but just get a message saying something like ‘bought purchases can’t be stored’. Has anyone heard if the server is down for buying donuts?
