Where Did THAT Come From – Egyptian Schtuff (well… most of it)

Walk like an Egyptian. See Alissa pulling out her hair (oh way oh) as the Addicts they all celebrate… some of them complain (oh way oh) as the Wookiee he eats some Cheetos yeah… Cranky Old Guy bites his tongue say way oh way oh…. waaaaay oh way yeah… walk like an Egyptian.

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Yes that’s right folks… we’re way past dino DNA and now in the world of sand and Egyptians. Before I turn people away with a quote from Anakin or start butchering Bangles lyrics again, I’ll just say woohoo for new things in TSTO! As usual, new additions mean it’s time for me to stop eating cheetos in my recliner while working on my weekly podcast and get to writing about the origins for it all. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. For this round of origins,we’ll be taking at a whole bunch of items from the Act Two of the 2017 Time Traveling Toaster Event:

Tuts ‘n’ Tots Elementary- Third Act Two Prize for 30, 600 papyrus
Egyptian Playground – 50 donuts
Egyptian Pyramid w/ Taskmaster Willie – Seventh Act Two Prize for 86,900 papyrus
Sphinx – Sixth Act Two Prize for 66,200 papyrus
Pharaoh Skinner – 150 Donuts
Skinner Sarcophagus – 4th Egyptian Excavation Prize
Chariot – 65 donuts
Burning Tree – 2nd Egyptian Excavation Prize
Egyptian Sundial – 3rd Egyptian Excavation Prize
Egyptian Outhouse – Level 7 crafting
Pharaoh Tent – 55 donuts
Egyptian Column – Level 6 crafting
Pharaoh Throne – came with Skinner’s skin
Egyptian Pillar – 1st Egyptian Excavation Prize
Camel – Level 9 crafting

Wowza… that’s a list. So… obviously the well was not deep for picking Egyptian items for this second act of the event. Three episodes if you want to be specific and one of them was only the second segment of a four-parter. To find a large majority of our new schtuff, we head to “Simpsons Bible Stories” (S10:E18). You knew it was only a matter of time before things got biblical in the game and not in a Pulp Fiction sort of way (although an event like that could be awesome). It’s an unreasonably hot Easter in Springfield and while Reverend Lovejoy sermonizes, our favorite family dreams their own versions of bible stories. Marge about Adam & Eve, Lisa about Moses, Homer about King Solomon, and then Bart about David and Goliath. It’s Lisa’s dream which brings us Egypt. Right from go we see the kids we know from Springfield Elementary playing on the Egyptian playground in front of Tuts ‘n’ Tots Elementary.

Slavemaster Willie (guess EA thought ‘Taskmaster’ was a more PC name) shows up to get the slaves, errr kids, back to work. Play time is over and it’s time to build Egyptian pyramids.

While they toil, the Sphinx is seen in the background.

Pharaoh Skinner makes his first appearance on the scene in none other than the chariot.

I just love him being shocked that someone defaced his tomb. We all know who the culprit most likely is but it is so not cool that a burning bush, errrr, tree materializes and sells out Bart. “The bush set me up!” All I can say is let my Bart go.

If you were wondering why the Sphinx prize looks a bit like Skinner, this episode really should clear that up. It also explains why the Egyptian toilet and sundial show up too.

When Milhouse, errrr, Moses shows up to make some demands of Pharaoh, the purple Egyptian column make an appearance. They can be seen from both the outside and inside of Skinner’s pharaoh tent.

Truly, there’s a lot of funny gags in the segment and ever since I got the Egyptian Elementary, I’ve been picturing Bart doing this inside at least 22 times a year. “Eye well knot d+ (Sphinx) face” indeed.

When the half-pint slaves decide to heed Moses’ trumpeting and go on an exodus from Pharaoh’s cruelty, we see Pharaoh Skinner on his throne. The Egyptian pillar is also in the background.

Also pretty funny that the lil Israelites cross the Red Sea by flushing a bunch of toilets to drain it. The camel shows up too as they head away for 40 years of wandering in the desert.

So there you go friends. A little more than six minutes of show that brought a bunch of new things into the game to highlight the Simpsonized version of Ancient Egypt’s past. What do you think of it all? Did you earn/craft everything? Sound off in the comments and good luck completing all your slave duties, errrr, I mean tasks.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  3. Why would EA be worried about PC? We’re on mobile!
