Earlier today EA dropped an “old school” update into our pocket sized Springfields… Superheroes 3. Another quick round of “up and atom”, with a short questline and a bunch of new and returning items in our stores.
So, let’s take a quick look at the Turbo Tappin’ version of Fallout Boy’s new questline…and his Rise from the Shadows….
If you have the Spooky Campfire &/or Dr. Lenny’s lab you’ll get tasks for Bart and Burns…if you don’t, they won’t popup for you.

Yeah, it’s been removed. Dunno if it’s a glitch or intentional.
Can’t believe I’m still logging into this game but definitely think this super heroes rehashed quest line is lame, and even more lame is the rainbow flag quests that I refuse to do have not dropped off my board! Predictable rubbish being force fed to us by EA unfortunately.
I don’t complain, it gave me Supefracker. I forgot to buy him last time.
While I like not having 24 hour tasks, it is kinda annoying having to do the same task multiple times unless they are short…like 60 mins or 6 secs…man I LOVE 6 sec tasks lol : )
I would rather just do one longer task instead of several of the same.
Overall this event seems like it will be fun too. Really looking forward to Halloween and Christmas events!! Happy tapping everyone! : )
Perhaps they’re just playing with us and they know that a Superheroes 3 wouldn’t be the ticket. Don’t’cha reckon?
I only got the update for some reason this morning (July 20th) and set my guys off on their tasks, and just now I got another update which kinda reset everything to pre-mini quests. Bart wasn’t telling a spooky story and all the new items were gone from the store!
Anyone else experience this at all?
Disappointed with this mini event, almost at the end of the tasks, would have liked a bit more to it, collecting and acts, Halloween meh!!!
i don’t mind the mini update but man i hate quests where you have to make them do something X amount of times before you complete a part of the quest. just make it 12 hours!

True that. I think they just want to keep us trained to keep checking in every four hours so we’re ready for the next major event
Plopper is the character I have wanted the most from the beginning. I was sad when he was on a recent episode but wasn’t offered on the game. He’s in my mystery box along with 12 other things. 60 donuts x 13 = 780 donuts. If I go for it, I have to go til I get him or it was all for naught. I really don’t want any of the buildings but the characters would be okay.
I saw a tip on here during the Presidents day mini event when I really wanted T Roosevelt-someone saying open and close the store until (Plopper) becomes the first item offered. It worked for me the 1st time, second time I tried it, it didn’t work. Good Luck!
Did I miss the part explaining what we get besides money and xp? Is this just a money and xp questline? I realize that’s what all of the early levels were about; but, I thought the implicit reward for unlocking the basic characters and buildings was not having to do quest lines like this anymore (aside from the daily task of course).

Thank you for posting the turbo tapping information. It at least helps us plan ahead for which characters we’ll need.
Was unhappy that I got the Asylum and had to try again for the Fracker…but it turned out that the Asylum goes perfect with Sideshow Bob’s house (how appropriate is that?).

OUCH! Ingame update: SH3-Shop removed, extra bonus removes, Señor Ding-Dong/his shop removed, NO REFUND of the 140 donuts I spent 🙁 At least Radioactive Man is in charge. Have weak mobile connection here, must wait until home for WLAN …
EDIT Another forced update, now everything is fine again. PHEW! I hate these updates – when I’ve used up my fast data limit. Took me nearly an hour anxious waiting. Ding-Dong-dingellidong is there again 😀
I don’t really care for this. It’s too much superheroes now. But that’s pretty much how I feel about recent movie releases, too.
All in all I like the style of this “event”. It’s relaxing, not the incessant 3h/4h tapping, just a little quest and a bunch of new stuff in the store. Bought Senor Ding-Dong as well, so I have two quests going now. I also spend 60 Donuts on the Mystery Box; the only item in there was the Radioactive Man Film Set. It’s huge! I mean HUGE! That was a bit of an impulse buy, I was happy to get it for 60 instead of the original 150, but now I have no idea at all what to do with it. It doesn’t really fit in anywhere. Any ideas from the crowd? For now, it is sitting on the edge of my town, until inspiration strikes. If ever…
Most people have either combined it with the power plant or mixed it in with the other film sets as part of the back lot of the film studios
I don’t have the film sets in one place, but maybe it is time to build a studio backlot. Although I am always reluctant to pull stuff from the middle of my town. Nature abhors a vacuum… 😉
I had pulled out Dr Lenny’s Lab for the quest, so when I got the movie set from the mystery box, it was a no brainer🙃.

Not a bad idea, it has a bit of a “halloweeny” vibe. My Halloween section doesn’t have an opening, though. But it might be a good idea to re-organize, and make room for the next THOH-event anyway.

For guys that have to watch how they spend their donuts this is indeed a non event. Ok some noobs have picked up free stuff & that’s great but I bet many tappers are bored already. Sorry to be so negative but while this lull continues I find myself playing WOT more & more !!!

Well, I did put the ” around the “event” deliberately – it is not really an event, reminds me more of the yard sales we’ve been having in the past. Still, unlike you, I am happy about the breathing room, and the chance to just tinker around with my town for a bit.

It’s really crazy that Fallout Boy (and RM) were invented in the 90s, and now there is a famous band called Fall Out Boy. Does anyone know how the band decided their name? Did it have anything to do with The Simpsons character?
Yes, the band got the idea for the name based on The Simpsons character.
I heard they named it for the Fallout series of video games, which has the Fallout Boy as a logo.

I’m thinking he might have had a new task in one of the quests (or had a quest planned of his own) and it either got screwed up and wasn’t included in the update, or it will be in another update next week.
I have a mission for (almost) everyone for 1hr. It’s to “Buy Milk”. Is that from this update? Every character except for the bond characters, a few animals & Apu (of all people) can do the task.
Any ideas?
Not this update. Is it a daily task? I had it about a week ago, Apu can’t buy milk because they’re buying from the quik e mart ie him. It’s a daily task or something to do with Sanjay I think.
That could be a daily challenge. I have that from time to time too. It usually says “Send Springfielders to buy Milk…”. Apu for some reason is not considered a Springfielder. Others, like the three Wicans fall into that category too.

Is Radioactive man tied to the statue? 60 donuts is good and I really want him to sunbath on his beach house but don’t want that big ugly “statue” out.
I heard that it was not tied but you need the statue out for his 8 hour task otherwise you will need his building for 30 donuts.

This mystery box is awesome. Each item was originally priced at a lot of doughnuts. I bought Senior Ding Dong. I couldn’t pass up a premium character with a building that earns money and XP and has a great bonus%. What happened to a Sumertime Sing off?
I’m battling buying either senor ding dong or grimes in my vault. Grimes is 20 doughnuts cheaper, but lil less %, and ding ding comes with a fun building too. But right now I really don’t have space for a building till I open more land. Decisions decisions. Thoughts?

These mystery boxes are a very clever move by EA.
The item you want costs say 60 donuts buy if you are unlucky it may cost 180+ & a bunch of stuff you don’t really care for !!!
I think this stuff is why most people were “It’s been okay” in the survey about how the game’s been the past year. EA has seemingly run out of ideas. In the summer it’s going to be hard to do, but once the next season starts I would prefer more mini-events and questlines that deal with an upcoming episode over EA going back to the well on something we’ve already done.
Many of us are new to the game. I’ve been playing only since the around the world event, and so it’s all new to us “noobs”. ‘member when you were new?
I think you are a bit confused Chris. EA typically has a sale on old items before an event hits. I doubt this is Superheroes 3 major event.
I don’t feel like they’ve run out of ideas…remember that Summer Sing-Off, Clown College, and Halloween events are all still due.

I like Radioactive Man. He has outdoor task and he fly around for 24hrs.
With all those flying characters it is time for some kindonvriendelijke of air traffic controle or… even better… Homers’s Flying Circus.
It would be nice, But I suppose EA will have to pay throughout the nose to get the right to do so
