Addicts Bracket Challenge: Most Desired Building, Week 5

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there are plenty of buildings in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Building Bracket Battle.

Like last year, with your help, we created a Bracket of 64 beloved buildings we believe would bring a smile to your face, have great tasks, could make for an awesome event, or simply be a nice idea for a new Friends Point prize. Unlike last year though, you had a huge say in what buildings made the cut.

We pre-selected 96 buildings organized into eight thematic conferences. We had chosen four to get automatic entries into the Bracket. However, your votes in the pre-Bracket polls selected which four buildings would join them in each conference. Those 64 buildings would then battle each other in six rounds of head-to-head matchups, that we hope produces the most debate in the comments below.

With the Bracket determined, every Friday over summer, we’ll post that week’s matchups and your votes will determine which buildings advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Most Desired Building” on Friday September 1st.

Here’s a recap of the results from our final set of eight Round 1 matchups:

#5 seed Lenny’s House (80% – 1,173 votes) upset destroyed #4 Homer & Mindy’s Dream Mansion (20% – 286 votes)

#5 Ye Olde Off-Ramp Inn (81% – 1,160 votes) upset destroyed #4 Second-Best Western (19% – 266 votes)

#4 Krusty’s Clown College (55% – 784 votes) defeated #5 Springfield Planetarium (45% – 654 votes)

#5 Springfield Speedway (57% – 808 votes) upset #4 Springfield Mystery Spot (43% – 615 votes)

#5 Kentucky Fried Panda (63% – 891 votes) upset #4 Greaser’s Café (37% – 528 votes)

For those who thought Quitters upsetting Springfield Shopper by 5 votes was close, check out the results of our closest vote ever as

#5 The Creamatorium (50% – 700 votes) barely upset #4 Cockamamie’s  (50% – 697 votes) by just 3 votes.

and lastly

#5 KrustyCo SweatShop (62% – 879 votes) upset #4 35 Industry Way (38% – 534 votes)

  1. Has Troy McClure ever been available in the game? I would so love to have him in my Springfield. I can’t believe it’s a law firm reminded me of him.

    • No. Characters like Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz have not entered the game, nor made an appearance in the show since Canadian voice actor Phil Hartman’s tragic murder suicide.

  2. I think that we need small dirt/pavement paths (1-2 squares wide that people will actually walk on. I have a river walk in my town (not to mention the Mansion Gardens) that need small dirt paths, and the exclusive resort could use paved paths! Also, in the bars/clubs poll, P.F Wang’s was incorrectly spelled “P.T. Wang’s”.

  3. Who really cares which of the 96 buildings might be the next? How about Krustyland, oh ok maybe voting for one much loved building might be a better idea.

  4. This week I agreed with Alissa 6 times, Patric & Safi 5 times and Wookie 4 times.
Alissa has moved back into the lead in my running total:
    Alissa 30
    Wookie 29
    Patric 29
    Safi 24
Looking forward to next week to see if Alissa can keep hold of the lead!!!

  5. It’d be cool if Springfield university was a set of multiple buildings and decor. Along with the cobblestone paths, a nice campus could be built.

I know this is kind of irrelevant, but with the recent introduction of crosswalks that are able to be placed directly on streets, can we see some more road infrastructure, notably traffic signals that hang across the streets?

    Cockamamie’s LOST?!?

  7. Right.
In no particular order can we have
    Lenny’s house
    University
    Speedway
    Kentucky Fried Panda
    You can keep the rest.

    • Yes, but I also really want the Off-Ramp Inn. The Bouvier house would be okay – always nice to have a unique house in the game, and there would always be a place for a Moe’s Express. I don’t really want Praiseland as a “building”, but would love to see an entire expandable area – maybe adjacent to Krustyland in that screen somehow? If people were going there for Praiseland, it might get EA to give KL some new love.

  8. None of the Addicts chose “Quitters”… typical Addicts.

  9. Speedway NASCAR Jeff Gordon #24

    🇬🇧😁

  10. Once again, I failed to anticipate that folks would want a double of something (earlier, the tattoo place win out over the eyeglasses store, now, the speedway win out over the Mystery Spot (maybe because what it was was too much of a mystery?)). But, overall, I think I’m doing pretty well…can’t remember for sure a couple of my picks, so I guess I’ll have to wait and see how much or how little I fell in the standings when the results are published.

As for this slate of votes… KrustyCo Sweatshop vs. Quitters was a tough choice, as was choosing between the Bouvier house and Lenny’s house! On the other hand, it was easier to give up P.F. Wang’s, now that we got the other building with a similar facade to pair up with the She-She Lounge. I bet that will change singe other people’s minds, too…

    • I agree, some of the winners are just baffling…
And I want to add another tough choice: Springfield U vs. Clown College. I’d really like to have them both!

      • The only one that really surprised me was the Mystery Spot. I was really surprised people picked the Speedway over it. But I’m biased because it’s from my favorite episode and that hilarious scene of Ozzie Smith falling down through it and screaming then stopping to take a picture…

        • That one amazed me because of what episode it is from, wonder if it is due to some people not seeing it and preferring the design aspect of the speedway.

          • I was bummed…especially since I had the Mystery Spot going to the Elite 8, so I’m busted for 2 rounds on that. Thankfully I had Springfield U beating it out for a spot in the final four so it’s not completely busted.
