Should I Spend Donuts on Señor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta & Señor Ding Dong?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Look up in the sky!  It’s a bird!  It’s a plane! No, it’s Fallout Boy back in Springfield to save it’s residents from hard to open ice cream containers! Ah yes, Superheroes are temporarily back in Springfield, in another attempt to fend off evil!  Naturally our stores are packed full of premium items just tempting us with those sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Señor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta & Señor Ding Dong to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this doorbell whipping vigilante to your town…

Character: Señor Ding Dong
Building/Decoration: Señor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta
Donut Cost: 140 Donuts
Earns: $200, 20xp/12hrs AND 4% bonus on cash and XP
Consumerism +20
Other Info:
Can be placed on the grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt|beach

Leaves stores July 30th

-Señor Ding Dong will use Doorbell Fiesta building, and it is animated when in use (Bell at the top of the building “rings”)
-Earns income AND a bonus %, and at 4% that’s a recent bonus.

-Animated tasks aren’t that great.

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
I like this combo.  It may seem a little pricey at 140 donuts, considering I usually say that..but with the bonus % added to the building it’s not terrible.  That 4% bonus helps make that cost not feel so high (usually you pay around 80 donuts for a 4% bonus). And it’s awesome that he’s voiced, really makes this a fun character.  The only thing lacking, in my opinion, is his animated tasks.  They’re not that great, and I feel like I’ve seen both before.  Otherwise this combo gets my stamp of approval.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll be picking him up.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Señor Ding Dong’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length  Earns Location
Tune Doorbells in Store 1hr $105, 26xp Doorbell Fiesta
Fix Rogue Doorbells 4hrs $260,70xp Outside/Visual
Polish His Bell 8hrs $420, 105xp Doorbell Fiesta
Groom Voluptuous Chest Hair 12hrs $600, 150xp Doorbell Fiesta
Comtemplate Purpose 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Outside/Visual

  1. Señor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta & Señor Ding Dong …

140 Donuts isn’t bad (it’s also a Voiced Character with an Animated Building – yay EA did something right!) 😊

  2. DVR alert! The Simpsons episode Maximum Homerdrive featuring Señor Ding Dong from the current Superheroes Return mini-event airs this Thursday, July 27, at 9:30pm on FXX.

I ended up grabbing it even though I was kind of meh on it. The logic is this: Alissa always points out how good a deal a character/building combo for 100 donuts or less is. She also pointed out in this post that a 4% bonus typically runs 80 donuts. By my math that means we’re coming out ahead by 40 donuts at least.

My conformity bonus is still relatively low, now 169.90%, but it all adds up eventually, right?

  4. Picked him up as soon as I scraped up the sprinklies. I remember being disappointed when he was voted out of the bracket last year.

  5. Too many upcoming events for me to pick this up. Plus, I spent most of my donuts on the Pride event.

  6. I bought it. My bonus didn’t increase, though. (I still like it.)

  7. I got it because it’s looks like Taco Bell like someone else wrote and it has a good ,recent bonus. TBH the character is kinda creepy to me. He reminds me of John Waters but not in a good way.

  8. Is he a limited time offer sorry it it has been answered already

  9. Throughout his entire quest line, couldn’t stop singing this song.

  10. Kumbaya ❄️

I gladly spend the donuts on the heroes💪
I past on last events zeros🏳️‍🌈
Ding dong “helping out” the lady’s (if you know what I mean) is funny
    I give this update 5🛎🛎🛎🛎🛎

    And still ANOTHER thing,
On a whim I played the Claw Machine and was awarded:
Sir Hugs A-Lot, my second one.
Not certain if I also received another 2% Bonus or not. Afraid to Store and retrieve to find out for fear of losing it. But, I thought you could only have one Sir Hugs A-Lot.

    • 4kidsandacatdog

It allowed you to place it? I didn’t get the option, it just told me it was in my inventory…and it wasn’t.

      • Tracy - 1ltwoody920

It gave me the option: Place or Store. I chose Place. I now have two, sitting side by side.
And searching these archives, I read most others tell your story.
Guess I’m destined to get a lot of love in my life.

    • There was an update to the Claw Machine a couple of days ago along with other minor stuff.

    • Yes, only one. It’s the same kind of poor programming as the barbarian statue in the excavation pit.

    • During one of the last updates, they made Sir Hugs-a-lot non-unique. You can have multiples now.

    And another thing…..
As I work my way through the Quest Line, I keep seeing messages where the women folk of Springfield ask Sneo Ding Dong to ring their bell.
And I am reminded of the terrific 12 Bar Blues song by
Lil Johnson 1932. – Press My Button (Give My Bell A Ring)

    • Kumbaya ❄️

      I thought u were joking
Lil Johnson sounds like a rap name
Plus Johnson is another name 4….
      I wouldn’t wanna b known as lil johnson🤣🤣🤣

      • Tracy - 1ltwoody920

        Nope, that was her name.
Another great blues song of her’s was:
Hot Nuts. 🥜 (Buy ’em from the peanut man)

  13. The familiar? Well someone at EA has a thing for whips!

I bought this combo right away. Despite the whip. Character, building and bonus 4%- awesome. Taco Bell looking building in my town – priceless!

  14. Samuraigeezer

I would, but I already spent all my donuts.

  15. Tracy - 1ltwoody920

I’ve been trying to figure out what is familiar about this- I remember!

    Ding dong bell
    Pussys in the well
    Who put her in
    Little Johnny Thin
    Who pulled her out
    Little Tommy Stout…….

    Ding Dong (door) Bell

    • 4kidsandacatdog

Your version works better than mine.
In the one I learned, little Johnny Green was the perpetrator.
As a kid, I always wondered what dinglehopper thought that rhymed!

  16. Tony Da Tiger

He’s got alot of Dong to go with his Ding. Lol

  17. Bought him as soon as I saw him. It is a shame EA cheaped out on the visual tasks, but all in all still a fun character. I cannot wait to see the “should I buy” on his van.

    • Considering he had like a 2 second cameo at the end of 1 forgettable episode, I would say EA has done a remarkable job of turning him into a full character.

      • They should have had him going up to different house doors whipping the doorbells… yeah, I think EA cheaped out. I’ve said it before – EA often misses little nuances when doing visual tasks.

  18. “should I buy” any new character? The answer for me is almost always “yes”!

  19. Señor Ding Dong? Si!

I kinda like watching him yield his whip, too. 🙂

His store also fits in nicely with many of the recent buildings in terms of scale and coloring.

  20. I decided to get Don Vittorio/Rancho Relaxo instead of Senor Ding Dong, because I preferred Don Vittorio’s tasks

  21. The quest is very funny. Expensive but a good bonus and it’s funny. I got it!!

  22. When EA wrote what’s next a Summertime Sing off or just a few weeks vacation for the Tapped Out employees. I think they took that Vacation. All we got was some random busy work with no real reason to finish the quests.

I’m sad I don’t have the donuts nor actual cash at the moment to pick this up. I just plunked down both for some stuff out of the last event unfortunately. I don’t quite understand how to do the KEM farming…can anyone give me a really dumbed down explination please? Thanks so much much and have a lovely day!! : )

    • 1) Turn on your XP collider. (Optional, but highly recommended.)
      2) Plunk down as many kwik e marts as you can afford. (Or fewer, it’s up to you.)
      3) Wait four hours, finish the buildings and reap the rewards of all that XP.
      4) Sell all the kwik e marts you just built.
      5) Repeat.

      • TallSpiderCandy

Thank you!! I appreciate your help!! : )

        • Keep in check though. You should calculate how much income you earn each 4hrs. That’s your best way to know how many KEM to buy without losing your cash flow. KEM prices start at $300 each one you build the cost goes up. So if you earn $180.000 after 4hrs, make sure you don’t buy more than that in KEM. The objective is to continue your cash while you build. Don’t make the mistake of placing the KEM in storage, come next round the KEM will be expensive.

          • Yeah, I didn’t mention that part because I think the feeling that farming requires doing calculations is what puts a lot of people off. When someone asks me for the “dummies” version, I leave out the math part 🙂

Also, I’ve been farming for years without running any numbers. I just build a couple big blocks of KEMs whenever I have the chance. If my cash starts dropping, I build one block instead of two. When I need donuts fast, I’m fine with running through all my cash. In game cash isn’t good for much besides land and donut farming, anyway.

            • TallSpiderCandy

That’s true, I was looking at all those charts and just got more and more confused, which made me feel like I was going to mess up and be out donuts plus all of my cash lol! This explanation makes me feel like I can actually make it work out, thank you for your help!! : )

    • Basic KEM farming…
Figure out how much cash you make(can spare) in a day.
      Save it for 7 days.
Spend that much on Kwik E Marts.
      Let them build for 4hrs.
Turn on your XP collider before tapping them.
Tap them to complete the build…you will be given XP for your efforts.
Every time you level up (accelerated because KEMs give more XP than other buildings, and you have the Collider going) you will earn extra donuts.
Sell your KEMs…you will get 25% back on what you spent.

Notes: You will spend more per KEM as you buy more of them in one batch…up to $14,000…sooo…when you sell them back (most expensive sells first), you will notice that they pay back less per KEM as you come to the cheaper ones.

There are other posts(search for KEM farming) that go into more detail and will give some good pointers on how to maximize yield and whether daily farming is better than weekly…but for a beginner, you have the basics… Happy Farming.

just buy a bunch of KEMs, wait four hours, harvest the XP they give you, you level up quicker and get donuts, sell KEM’s, repeat

    • Start small if you have a small $ supply. First sell all but your original K-E-M. Buy 20 KEMs and arrange them in a nice little rectangle. BEFORE you click the build icon in 4 hours, start your XP Collider by spending some donuts. It’s most cost effective if you do 10 days, but you can definitely start with less if you don’t have many sprinkles. When (and only when) your XP Collider is running, tap the build icon on all your new KEMs. Depending on your bonus percent, you’ll level up and get either 1 donut per level or get a chance at 3 donuts, depending on your current level. When given the 3 boxes, always “buy” your extra chances to get 3 donuts. Then using the tap and hold method, select all your KEMs and click the $ option to sell them all at once. Then build more KEMs and repeat until your XP Collider runs out. Just time it so that you have time to FINISH building before it runs out.

Hope that helps! Good luck! 🙂

      • Yes, do spend the $50k money to do additional taps to always get 3 donuts in the bonut rounds, UNTIL your bonus % shown in the conform-o-meter box reaches somewhere between 750% (if you have Springfield Heights fully built out) and 900% (if you have no S.H. whatsoever). Above that, it becomes more cost effective (more donuts per $ spent on the KEM builds + bonut rounds) to do “Accept 2”, where you don’t tap again if you’ve gotten 2 donuts (basically only tap again, once, if your first tap got just 1 donut). You can then take the money saved and build more KEMs per harvest, and you’ll be getting a better return of donuts per $ spent, on average. Meaning you’ll be earning donuts faster for the same money-burn rate.

    • I farm 24 KEMs every 4 hours with a bonus percentage of about 165 and end up with 12 donuts daily. I run the XP collider before I start so it costs 10 donuts for three day but I generate 36 in that time leaving a surplus of 16 every three days. Detailed post with percentage charts here:

    • first save 25 donuts then activate 10 day xp bonus then take like 500k and build as many kwikemarts as possible then send all ur chararcters on 4 hour tasks, 4 hours later marts r done and so r tasks, u will get lots of xp therefor lots of donuts (like 10 every 4 hours) then sell the marts and do it over again 4 hour tasks and build all the marts u can, u will make about 50 donuts a day doing this so eveey 10 days put 25 donuts aside to reup cp bonus

    • Everyone else has great information for you for KEM farming, but I want to add a few things. I think that having the XP collider on all of the time is a must. Pay the 25 doughnuts for 10 days, wash rinse repeat. You will get your doughnuts back from farming. Try to figure out how many KEM’s to farm AND still make money. You want to be in the black for cash flow. So if you start losing game cash every harvest, then you’re planting too many KEM’s. I don’t know what your current XP modifier is, but try to raise it up as high a s possible. My XP modifier is currently around 710% (plus the hidden Springfield Heights bonus). So buy decorations and stuff that will boost your XP %. It takes a while, but it’s worth it, and things snowball quicker than you might think. Before you know it, you’ll be getting all or most of the premium stuff you want at no real cost. Good luck, and happy tapping.

    • Turn on xp collider (whatever you can afford). Buy as many KEMs as you can afford. Wait 4 hours (or more), complete the KEMs, get all the xp, sell them all, build new ones, repeat forever….
As long as you’re getting more donuts than you’re spending on the xp collider, you win.

  24. Polish his bell huh? Lol

    Grabbed quickly.

  25. Character, building, bonus. Yes, yes, yes. Welcome to my Springfield Señor Ding Dong. 🔔

  26. As a freemium player, I bought him immediately, I had a space… thought go for it. I’d normally wait for SIB. Don’t regret my decision at all, loved the questline 😊🇬🇧

  27. I like this combo, more so than many others. If I were a freemium player, I’d pick it up for all three since it’s fairly cheap since it’s the building, NPC and 4% bonus 😀

I think you have a typo “Earns income AND a bonus %, and at 4% that’s a recent bonus.” recent should be decent.

  28. My second most wanted addition to the game after Mr Sparkle.
The bonus was a welcome surprise.
