Where Did THAT Come From – Pies for Guns Booth & Pies and Explosives Pile

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Don’t call it a comeback… I’ve been here for years. Hey howdy hey friends. Wookiee popping by from a little bit of a layover in life to get back to one of my favorite parts of being a writer here at this amazing site. That’s right… new stuff for me to talk about just WHERE it all comes from in the Best. Show. Ever. I’m always a fan of new things even though a lot of the coolest things cost precious sprinklies. Recently, we got a return of Superheroes schtuff but I was overjoyed that at least a few new items found their way into the game. For this round we will be looking at the newest pie slash weapons items that found their way into the game… the Pies for Guns Booth (60 donuts) and the Pies and Explosives Pile (30 donuts). Let’s dive into the TV series to find them.

“Simple Simpson” (S15:E19)

Pie Man, Pie Man… does what ever a Pie Man does… Yes that’s right… this is the episode which gave us Homer as the creped crusader. Yes, crepes are more tiny pancakes a la Ricky Bobby but I did find a delightful looking recipe for a savory crepe pie so I’ll let the nickname stand. Now I’m just hungry for pie. Key Lime, Pecan (pronounced Pee-can btw), or pumpkin. I guess we can all agree that The Simpsons are as American as apple pie, right? Anyhoo… you know an episode is gonna be good when it starts off with a tribute to the 1960s Bright Knight Batman and then progresses to lots of bacon.

Homer wins the honor of judging a pig competition at the Springfield County Fair after buying a ton of Farmer Billy’s bacon. He doesn’t get to “see how a pig goes from loving life to your fork and knife” or the hoof grinder, marrow sluice, or the five-story pig shredder by finding a golden ticket but second place and silver makes him happy and that’s what matters. Lots of bacon choices too… Farmer Billy’s slow-killed bacon and bacon-fed bacon are among them.

At the county fair, Homer is having a grand ol’ time but poor Lisa is being bullied and ridiculed by the Rich Texan at the Place-Setting Contest. Homer sees the act but remembers that Wiggum said he was going down if he committed one more felony assault. He needs to protect his daughter though. The answer is a disguise and Pie Man is born. “You’ve hurt your last feeling!” As Drederick Tatum says, “We all know pi-R-squared but today, pie are justice.”

Homer vows to strike wherever people are mistreated. Lisa is a big fan of the new hero and I dig her artist’s rendition. While we don’t see a ton of justice pieings, Comic Book Guy does get his just desserts for forcing kids to buy crappy comics like Richie Rich Incorporates in Delaware, Easy to Believe Tales, Supergirl vs. the Glass Ceiling, The Green Listener, and Fantastic Floor. Krusty gets it for a general decline in quality.

“Pie — popular pastry, tricky math thing, and now sword of righteousness.” In light of the Pie Man, the Springfield Police quickly set up a Pie for Guns exchange to avoid copycat pieings. Only in Springfield. All of the pies are then blown up by the bomb squad. Pretty great that this is just Wiggum and Eddie hiding behind a wall. “Oh those poor innocent pies.”

This is a really great episode including Girl Scouts, talking pies, and the Dalai Lama. If you’ve never seen it, I heartily endorse it. If you have, go back and revisit the goodness. This is a good example of later Simpsons being awesome. What do you think of the new decorations? Did you purchase either of them? Ever pie someone in the face for justice, hilarity, and/or charity? Sound off in the comments and happy pie throwing, errrr, tapping.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

Hopefully you like this episode as much as me. “If you don’t like bacon, well, then the hell with you.”

Just wondering if you guys noticed that they added the Spooky Campfire and gave everyone Pie Man outfit for Homer for free. Noticed it on my C game earlier today, on Pie Man. I wasn’t playing the game in 2015 so I never had the Spooky Campfire.

Haven’t seen a post about it, so giving you a heads up if you haven’t.

  2. Why has there never been Bacon Pie? Mmmmmm….Coconut Bacon Pie…Pumpkin Bacon Pie…Pecan Bacon Pie (actually I guess there’s quiche, but thats kinda cheating).

    • Thanks Neighbor. Now I think I’ll be expairamenting in my kitchen this week

    • Bacon and Egg pie

    • Well, there’s Steak & Kidney Pie, Shepherd’s Pie, I don’t see why there couldn’t be Bacon Pie. Not so sure about the pairing with coconut, but Pumpkin Bacon actually sounds great. Or maybe paired with fruit like Pinapple Bacon, or Peach Bacon. Apple would probably work, too. I do like the salty & fruity combo. 🙂
In Germany, you can’t really get pies, so I do have to fall back on Quiche, Pizza or Pide, and mostly they look at you funny if you order fruit on those. Except for “Hawaii” Pizza, that one has pinapple. Anyhow, lately my favourite one is Spinach Egg Cheese Pide, which would actually benefit from a bit of bacon, but the bakery I usually go to doesn’t do bacon.
