Where Did THAT Come From – League of Extra-Horny Gentleman & Mo’s

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

It was only a matter of time before the game became more like The Flintstones. That’s right friends… we had a gay ol’ time recently in TSTO and frankly, it was fabulous. Lots of new characters and buildings and an event closest to the good old days of level updates in a long time. Even better, Springfield properly celebrated Pride although I’ll agree with Patric that the dialogue was certainly written by heteronormatives. This isn’t the place for a debate about choices or lifestyles though. This is Addicts… a loving community where all are welcome and we got new stuff so the fuzzball is gonna tell you the origin for it. For this round we will be taking a look at the League of Extra-Horny Gentleman, a premium building for 60 donuts, and Mo’s, the free building skin for our favorite ratty tavern.

“Mommie Beerest” (S16:E7)

You know an episode is going to be interesting when Homer and Marge finally pay off the mortgage of their house only to have Homer re-mortgage it to save his beloved bar. We all know Moe’s has been closed, destroyed and/or remodeled a ton of times but it’s just one of those things that happens and usually results in hilarious episodes. This is funny to me solely because we’re looking for a gay bar and one of the times Moe’s got a new look. This isn’t the Mo’s episode but after a mishap (read pickled eggs) kills the lenient health inspector, Moe’s is closed down for a variety of health code violations by the replacement.

Moe doesn’t have the money to fix up the bar and tells the barflies they’ll just have to do their drinking across the street at The League of Extra-Horny Gentlemen. A beer may be a beer for Lenny, Carl, and Barney but Homer knows he’s too chubby to be a regular at a gay bar.

The League shows up again in “Flaming Moe” (S22:E11). Smithers discovers that he is not a beneficiary in Mr. Burns’ will and falls into a shame spiral. He just wants to go somewhere where he feels wanted and unfortunately for Smithers, that’s not even The League. He’s denied entry because his buzzcut and bow tie are more for a John F. Kennedy cabinet meeting than a night club according to the bouncer.

Smithers walks across the street to Moe’s instead (hooray for continuity). I dig that you can see the gay bar across the street through the window. The main difference between the Tavern and its fabulous competition? “They drink for fun instead of here where horrible addiction compels you.” Man oh man… I hope they never open a more fabulous version of this site lol.

Courtesy of Waylon wishing the town had “a men’s bar for the average looking fella” Moe is inspired to give his place a face lift for swishkabobs. It ends up finally bringing business to Mo’s too.

It’s a place where super-hairy Wonder Woman and Comic Book Gay can just be themselves.

So there you go friends, a couple of the new pride items in our games. What do you think of them? Remember when Moe pretended to play for the pink team and even kissed Mr. Smithers?  I’m stoked the Moe’s skin was free. Did you buy the League? Place it across from Mo’s and wish you could turn buildings four directions? Ever see the movie or read the comic it parodies? Sound off in the comments and happy tapping friends.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Not only have I seen the movie, I’ve seen it more then once….On Purpose!

  2. What happened to the Readers Choice Showoff you promised us? It’s been over a week now. Did you forget or did you cancel it after you received the submissions?

    • Well, as I posted in Open Thread yesterday AND on the initial post, submissions were due YESTERDAY for a post today. I just finished it and it’ll likely be live by the time you read this.
