Homerpalooza 101: Jam Sessions for Act 1

Hey Tappers!

Hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on and your cell phones ready to light up the night because Homerpalooza has arrived in Springfield! That’s right the rock fest has begun! One key aspect introduced in Homerpalooza is Jam Sessions.

NOTE: While this post included info/speculation about Act 2 – Pop and Act 3 – Hip Hop, we’ll focus on Act 1 and have separate posts for Act 2 and Act 3….

Jam Sessions:

So in this event, similar to a few events in the past (TapBall, Superheroes, Halloween come to mind), you’ll be tasked with sending characters on a secondary task.  In this case it’s Jam Sessions.

From the Event Hub or in the top right of your screen, click on the stage icon to send characters to Jam Sessions.

Jam Session Stages:

Jam Sessions are conducted at four various stages in each Act. In Act 1 – Rock, Jam Sessions are conducted at the Rock Stage, Moe’s Tavern, Kwik-e-Mart, and eventually The Simpsons House (when you unlock it in the prize track). Act 2 – Pop and Act 3 – Hip Hop stages will be discussed in future posts.

4 characters can jam at the Rock Stage, while only 2 can jam at Moe’s Tavern, Kwik-e-Mart, and The Simpsons House. If you fill a stage, you get 50 bonus event currency ( in Act 1). You’ll notice all slots at all four current stages have a blue lining around them, similar to the blue icon  representing this Act. More on this in the follow up posts for Acts 2 and 3.

Jam Session Characters:

Various characters can Jam (perform on stage) to earn more event currency.

In Act 1 – Rock, characters that can jam at any of the four Rock stages have a blue icon next to them, and include:

  • Homer
  • Apu
  • Rev. Lovejoy
  • Dr. Hibbert
  • Lisa
  • Bleeding Gums Murphy
  • Shredder Stevens
  • Freddy Freeman
  • Rockstar Maggie
  • Nick Delacourt
  • Peter Dabbruzio
  • Rockin Otto
  • Weird Al

NOTE: Act 2 – Pop and Act 3 – Hip Hop characters will be discussed in the Act 2 and Act 3 continuations of this post.

Star Management:

The more frequently you send characters, the better the character will get (i.e. Practice Makes Perfect), and as a result, the more event currency they will earn. The goal is to get your characters to 5 star performers to earn the most event currency possible from each Jam Session, as higher star ranks earn more rewards from Jam Sessions.

Each character has a base star value: (NOTE: Act 2 and Act 3 characters have been removed and will be shown in the subsequent posts!)

Star Ranks Characters Currency Payout
1 Star  Homer, Apu, Rev. Lovejoy, and Dr. Hibbert. 25
1.5 Star  Nick Delacourt, Weird Al Yankovic 37
2 Star  Lisa 50
2.5 Star  Bleeding Gums Murphy, Shredder Stevens, Freddy Freeman, Rockstar Maggie, Peter D’Abbruzio, Rockin’ Otto 62
3 Star 75
3.5 Star 87
4 Star 100
4.5 Star 112
5 Star 125

As shown above, 1 star characters earn 25 event currency. 2 stars earn 50 event currency, 3 stars earn 75, 4 stars earn 100, and the maxed out 5 star characters earn 125 event currency.

When sending characters, you get 50 bonus event currency for filling the stage, so best to fill those stages up.

Upgrading Characters:

Each character requires 80 star points to rank up to the next half star. Each Jam Session awards the character 5 star points. So it takes 16 Jam Sessions to be upgraded to the next half star. After the 16th Jam Session, the character will automatically be upgraded to the next half star and earn an additional 12 or 13 event currency per Jam Session.

Alternatively, you can spend 1 donut per 5 star points (or 16 donuts to level up a complete half star) – though we never recommend spending your precious donuts to do so.

Time commitment wise, it takes 4 hours per Jam Session, 16 Jam Sessions to upgrade half a star, so 64 hours to upgrade half a star. Homer, Apu, Rev. Lovejoy, and Dr. Hibbert will require 8 half-star upgrades to reach 5 stars, so that’s 512 hours or 21 and a third days of practice. This time commitment is reduced by 64 hours for every half star a characters base star rank is higher than 1 star.

Tips and Tricks:

While you can send 4 characters to jam at the Rock Stage, if you don’t have at least 8 characters to fill all 3 initial stages, or 10 characters to fill all 4 Act 1 – Rock stages once you unlock The Simpsons House Stage, it’s best to fill the 2 character stages (Moe’s Tavern, Kwik-e-Mart, and The Simpsons House) first, as you earn a bonus for filling the Stage. Example, if you have 6 characters and send 4 to the Rock Stage and 2 to the Simpsons House, you’ll get two 50 cuffs bonuses = 100. However, if you have 6 characters and send 2 to the Simpsons House, 2 to Moe’s and 2 to KEM, you’ll get three 50 cuffs bonuses = 150.

When choosing which characters to send, focus on characters like Apu , Dr. Hibbert , Lisa , Bleeding Gums Murphy , Rockstar Maggie , and Weird Al , that will also be used on multiple Stages in future Acts.

In addition to migrating towards Weird Al when he’s tapped, fans tend to migrate towards the stages as well. So if you position your four stages in the same area of your Springfield, you’ll find a lot of fans in one area.

As with most tasks, when the Jam Sessions are 90% complete, you can speed finish the rest for free without spending any donuts. So instead of 4 hours per Jam Sessions, you can do it in 3 hours and 36 minutes without spending donuts.

Here is a Jam Session with over 24 minutes left requiring 8 donuts to speed up the 4 characters:

Here is that same Jam Session a few seconds later with under 24 minutes left that can now be sped up and completed for free:

And that’s it my friends. A few quick tips to make Jam Sessions in Springfield rock….

What are your thoughts on Jam Sessions? Have any other tips or tricks you can share for Act 1 only? Rank up any characters yet? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Just want to say that of all of the special event so far, this one is my favorite. I also appreciate the great depth of explanation you give for every event.

  2. I think I’m having a glitch and I don’t know where exactly I should post my question. The thing is: I’m not getting cuffs when visiting neighbours. When I tap the fans, I only get XP, $ and FP, no cuffs. Is anyone having the same issue? Or know how can I fix it?

    • You’re not getting any cuffs anytime? You should get cuffs for the first 30 fans you tap visiting your first 10 neighbours every 24 hours. So if you’ve visited neighbours and collected cuffs from the first 30 fans you tapped in the past 24 hours, your other 90 neighbours won’t yield any cuffs when you tap on their fans.

  3. Queenhappyface

Is there a glitch or am I not paying attention somewhere? I send 4 characters to the Jam stage and only 3 shows now. There’s no character rocking out on raised staged.

  4. And now for something completely different: The song titles shown when you send the rockers jammin’ seem to be parodies of well-known songs/artists, but I can’t figure out all of them. I assume the German translation is sub-par again…
    1) Van Houten “Married to the Devil” – Van Halen “Running with the Devil”
    2) Snake and the Dudes “I Fought the Law” – The Clash “I Fought the Law” (This seems a bit of a stretch, but couldn’t think of anything else; translation could also be “Against the Law” or “Up Against the Law”, but nothing springs to mind there, either, and the band name doesn’t fit.)
    3) The Stabfour “Let it Bleed” – The Fab Four “Let it Bleed”
    4) Sungazer “Hopin’ for a Dream” – ???
    Any takers?

    • Your translation is correct on #4. I can’t remember any other songs I’ve seen, but Radioactive Head – “Nuclear Karma Police” is playing right now. That one is pretty obvious. It could be that the Sungazer songs aren’t direct parodies, or at least you can’t tell from the titles alone. I haven’t seen the episode they were in so I don’t know.

      • LOL… again…watch the episode!
But here’s a hint…they mostly just play the same song over and over…which I am guessing had to do with budget constraints on hiring a “real band” to play the music.

    • Just want to say that of all of the special event so far, this one is my favorite. I also appreciate the great depth of explanation you give for every event.

    • “Hopin’for a dream” = “Living on a prayer”? By the way, Rolling Stones cut the album “Let it bleed.”

    • The Fab Four (Beatles) song is “Let it Be”, not “Let it Bleed”. 😉

      • I was thinking it might be Let It Be, because what else can Fab Four mean besides The Beatles? But I wasn’t sure if there was some other band with a song called Let It Bleed, so I doubted my conclusion.

    • Hopin’ for a dream is Runnin’ Down a Dream Tom Petty

  5. I unlocked Weird Al but can’t send him to jam. He’s in the Star Management list (but without any icons), but he’s not in the menu list for sending people to jam. (I’ve tried the usual things like storing the character, visiting neighbors and Krustyland.) Anyone else have this problem?

  6. I don’t see Rockstar Maggie in the Mystery Box.. Bummer.. The only character I see in the Mystery Box is Saxophone Lisa.. 🙁 I don’t think I already have Rockstar Maggie, hmm… I will need to check next time she is free. It would be a skin? Not a completely separate character?

  7. Oh dear! Moan moan moan. If you want it all spend money and be happy ( I am). If you want it all and don’t want to spend money farm (haven’t got the time /can’t be arsed). Otherwise get what you can and be happy!!! It’s a great game enjoy! (ps. Don’t spend more than you can afford that would be stupid. There’s so much more to enjoy).

  8. Question: I already have Otto, he still shows in store as 120 donuts.. is that for a skin? Seems a lot for a skin?

  9. I am totally confused! It would have seemed that, so long as you have enough characters to fill up the stages, it wouldn’t matter which order you put them in within a venue, or which stage you put them on. However, that is not true! But I can’t figure out the pattern!

    Here’s what I did…

I made a list of all of my jamming characters (based on the order they’re in on the selection screen), and, since I have 12 of them, but only 10 spaces, I left out two of my lowest (star-wise) characters from my list.

I then calculated what I would get if I sent the first four to the main stage, the next two to the Simpson house, the next two to the Kwik-E-Mart, and the next two to Moe’s. Then, I did the same thing using the list in reverse order. The two totals were not the same! In one case, the total for all four stages came to 759 cuffs; in the other, the total came to 772 cuffs. The problem is, I can’t figure out why there should be a difference (and, therefore, how to strategize whom to send where, and whether the order they’re placed within the venue makes a difference).

Can anyone explain this to me? I’ve experimented with several different orders and have gotten 4 different possible totals (so far?). I’m doing fine on the calendar, and not pressed for donuts, so I’m not worried about whether I get the max possible or not, but not understanding why the order and/or venue should make a difference (and in what way) is driving me nutso!

    • Have you taken into account the earning power of each player? In the post it lays out the basics…Lisa earns more, BGm earns more, and then the stars bring more from there…because the are just multipliers of the original earning number. So…1 star for one character may not be the same as one start for another…

The key thing you wrote, “I’m doing fine on the calendar…” So, chillax…in the big picture, the difference between 13 cuffs just isn’t going to make that much difference…

      • Yes – I’m saying that the same 10 players completely filling the same four venues bring in different total amounts depending on who I put where, but I can’t figure out why…what’s making the difference. Their total stars don’t change, just because I put them in one venue or another, so I don’t think that’s a factor. If I had more time, I’d do a closer analysis and see if I could figure out the patterns, but, alas, my company won’t pay me for playing TSTO, no matter how good I get at it…they insist on my doing the assignments they give me, instead. 🙁 😉

      • Oh, and I know that the 13 cuffs (or whatever) aren’t going to make a big difference in my game…. I’m plenty chillaxed where that’s concerned. But I’d also like to understand how it works – what the algorithm is – because that’s how I’m wired…I tend to be a curious person, not just someone who’s only fixated on end results.

        • In some cases, Curiosity Killed the Addict… or something like that. I get it. As you say, some people are wired that way. I’m that way about lots of things in my life, but gave up a long time ago spending too much time on trying to figure out the “why/what” of TSTO. Too buggy…

    • maybe your Weird Al Yankovic leveled up between the 2 sessions from 1.5 to 2 stars… bam 13 cluffs !

    • Possibilities: (1) incorrect math (2) using different characters

      • Or the more likely number (3) that one character level up from x.5 star rank to x+1 star rank between jam sessions, and now earns 13 more cuffs.

      • Nope and nope. I’m working from a written list and added and re-added my numbers several times. Try it yourself (if you have enough characters)…write them down in order, then “pretend” (don’t hit the Jam button) to fill up each venue by going down the list, making a note of the total cuffs for each, then add up the totals. Then, do the same thing, except go through your list backwards. (If you have more than 10 characters, make sure you’re excluding the same two from the list each time.) I think you’ll see what I’m saying.

        • I did try different combinations and different venues. Always was same total. If you can repeat it, please report the characters and venues and scores both ways and I will try to repeat it next time I have all free.

        • Sandra, (and Alissa and Patric) did you ever find out whether there is an overall difference to to order you place your characters on stage?

I think I remember Patric (?? not absolutely sure on who) saying something in one of the first event posts about putting the character with the highest star rating first in the lineup to get more event currency.

I’m wondering if putting highest star rating characters in the last “Bonus” position would generate more overall currency due to the additional bonus amounts.

Alissa, Patric, do you know if there is a strategy in stage position assignment that gets higher payouts? I’m way behind due to being out of the country and need to do everything I can to catch up.

          • that has been “debunked” and we are now just on to placing them in the right stage (which is kind of random). Read Safi’s post on it…very enlightening…along with this bit he posted in another thread:

Here’s one option you can do if you have premium characters:
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Freddy, Shredder, Nick
Simpsons House (Rock only): Dr Hibbert, Apu
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Leon K, Rockstar Maggie
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto on Rock and Lisa or Bleeding Gums on Pop
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, and eventually Alaska Nebraska, baby Maggie and Pop Weird Al

If you only have freemium players, you will have empty venues. Here’s what I would do:

Scenario A – Moe’s and KEM (both Rock)
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
            Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty – eventually Alaska Nebraska

Scenario B – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al unlocked
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Pop Weird Al at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
            Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty – eventually Alaska Nebraska

Scenario C – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al not available
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Bart at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rock Weird Al alone
Pop Stage (Pop only): Nelson alone – eventually with Alaska Nebraska
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Milhouse and Ralph

Scenario D – Moe’s and KEM (both Pop)
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rev Lovejoy, Homer
Pop Stage (Pop only): empty – eventually Alaska Nebraska
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Lisa and Weird Al Pop if available at Pop

          • No difference in terms of order within a stage. But, if you’re short on characters to fill them all (like when all venues except for rock stage and Simpsons house are pop), then fill the smaller venues first, so you can fill as many bonus spots as possible.

    • The fact that their is a difference of 13 implies that one character leveled up from x.5 stars to x+1 stars at the end of the last jam session. That would be the only explanation in my opinion.

      • Using the same characters, at the same time (without hitting the Jam button), in different configurations. Try it yourself and you’ll see!

(Just to be sure, I’ll check it out again tonight, if I have time…)

        • You can’t have sent the same 10 characters at the same time to jam twice. You sent 10 once, and then you sent the same 10 a second time in reverse order.

I’m just saying the first time you sent 10 of the characters, 1 of the 10 characters was at 75/80.

Now the second time you sent the 10 characters in reverse order, that one character that was at 75/80 is now at 0/80 and earns an additional 13 cuffs because s/he is a half star upgraded.

        • I assumed it’s the order you put them in? Like start with the lowest ranked character in the first slot (as example these are mine (from memory) as of now: homer/1star in the leftmost first space, Lisa 2 stars in the next one, then weird all 2,5 and Bleeding Gums 3 stars at the end) if lisa and BG changes places the total for the jam session is less.
Does this make sense even? I’m very tired and English is not my first language, I might have misunderstood the question 🙄😬

    • sandra… have you been rocking out again? 🔥

      • Don’t remember wwhether I was at that point, but, man, why you gotta blame everything on that? 😉

    • Think yourself lucky Sandra that you have 10 characters available !
However I understand your confusion, as a few guys have mentioned the different tallies are more than likely due to a character being upgraded.
      Rock on !!!

    • Your game is broken. Throw your device against the wall and jump up and down on it a few times…that should get it to work again 😉

  10. YIKES….EA backlash…big time!
Here’s a little CrankyOldGuy pragmatism… Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff!
The fact is, I will continue to “sacrifice” my bonus at Moe’s or the Simpsons… because I want a FULL stage on my Rock Stage. And…I want BGM to be part of the line-up… I’m currently earning 422 per cycle,,,(236 Main Stage- 124 Simpsons House- 62 at Moes)… and just about to get NIck. So, I am trillin’ and chillin’…

And NO…I won’t be buying Otto…I’m two days ahead of the calendar as it is. So…no worries.

Most of the gnashing of teeth is over the pricing of the Premium stuff. Meh…I got BGMurphy completely with free donuts from EA, without KEM farming. Where’s Maggie? Daily Tasks…Monorail weekly bonuses… no worries.

I am just cruising…and enjoying seeing the guys jam…and imagining the set list.

    • I like your attitude, as you say no worries just play the game fairly regularly & a few less event currency here & there is really not going to make a great difference.
      Keep cruising !!!

  11. It definitely behooves you to focus on upgrading the characters that can be used to jam in acts 2 and 3 above all else.

  12. If you store all of the NPC’s and send your characters on jobs that are not animated, it’s super easy to find lawyers and fans in your town because they’re the only things moving.

    • I’ll probably find the fans quicker than the time it takes me to sort out the characters as you say.

  13. Thanks for the strategy, I’d been filling the Rock Stage first 🙄

  14. Unreal. ThEAy need to start giving us premium players these skins for free if you already have the character and offer the decoration separately.

    I am NOT impressed.

In fact I am so hacked off. I will not be buying Otto again for the same amount of money just for a freaking skin. 2% bonus for the sign.

Kiss my shiny metal @$$ EA!

    • Didn’t realize that the sign had a bonus XP%…yippeee!
Bought the combo cuz I just had to have Rockin Otto…I know it’s overpriced, but so is BGM…just gotta get what you like, I guess.

      • No. No. And double no.
It’s the same thing with the volcano lair all over again.

I should NOT have to pay double price. EA you suck.

Good deal for anyone who doesn’t have Otto. Bleurghhh.

        • I’m happy for the folks who got a great deal…and you don’t “have to pay double price”…or any price. Just don’t buy it.
Same with the Gil’s deals…overpriced? Yes. Worth it? Probably not. Worth a rant? Again, probably not. Everybody plays their own way and that’s a good thing…sorry you don’t agree.

    • Completely agree with you Brooders. That’s B.S. Maybe for 50 donuts I might have given in. But not 150 or 160 for a skin a little % bonus. That’s ridiculous.

      • After a year of KEM farming you will not care what they charge.

        • Carmen (gameid5000)

Concur. KEM farming has moved me past caring what EA is pricing things at. The only reason I don’t have lots on hand is I’m constantly spending them on the discounted items (vault, mystery boxes). But in return, I’ve added something like 40 characters (and associated buildings or other objects). I think the only thing I’ve passed on recently was the Dia-Betty Gil deal, but that early in my farm’s life….

    • Don’t get mad, KEM farm.

    • They could at least double the premium pay out if you buy a premium skin! I refuse to buy a skin for a character that is premium or already has a premium skin that I earned.

    • I feel the same, the skins should at least be considerably cheaper, but I couldn’t resist Otto anyway. Still one of my favourite recurring characters.

    • Heh heh 😀

  15. “Leveling up” in this event seems to be a desperate donut grab. Don’t get me wrong, I think stars are neato, but slowly changing a character from freemium to premium earners of event currency for prizes is pointless. Just spend the donuts on the prizes, right? Anyways, hooray for tiny colored logos that mean nothing so far!!!

  16. DAMMIT
I should have bought bleeding murphy instead of the rocking guitar ones.

    • Still over a month to get him…he earns at the same rate as the others and I’m pretty sure everyone will be playing(on their own stage) for the entire event. BGM can play on multiple stages, but you will still need to fill the rock stage and 3 other venues when Act 2 starts. I think you will be fine.

    • Agreed. BGM is classic Simpsons. I don’t know if those rockers are gonna get locked out of the last 2 acts or not. Still, I’m guessing they won’t help with Halloween, Superheroes 9, Sara Wiggins Kidnap Event or anything else in the future. They do earn donuts fast though!!!

  17. I notice that lately the fans in my Springfield are standing still in the house farm making them harder to find.

Is there a way to get them moving to the stages?

I know how to find them by dimming the houses, but it’s tedious and slow…

    • I discovered a trick to finding the fans recently…
      1. Go to the crafting screen
      2. Make sure you DON’T have enough tickets to level up.
      3. Click the level up button next to the level bar
      (Not enough fedtival tickets!)
      4. Click Do It — careful not to click donuts
      You’ll jump to a fan.
Repeat until no fans left 🙂 crafting as necessary to keep tickets below level up cost.

    • Also, after you win Delacourt and have him play a set, a quest icon will show up for collecting cuffs for bonuts. When you tap it, it takes you to any available fans. Happy hunting😀.

  18. I bought myself rockin Otto for my birthday today not realizing that I sent all non essential characters on 24 hour tasks this morning. what a bummer.

  19. if you have stargazer band and rockstar Maggie with bleeding gums you can get 298 wrist bands per session at the start

    • Actually if you look at the Tips and Tricks, you can get 348 cuffs.

You’re sending Rockstar Maggie, BGM, and Stargazers to Rock Stage for 62+62+62+62+50 bonus for filling Rock Stage. That gives you 298 cuffs.

But if you send Rockstar Maggie and BGM to Moe’s Stage for 62+62+50 bonus for filling Moe’s Stage; and send Stargazers to KEM Stage for 62+62+50 bonus for filling KEM Stage. That gives you 348 cuffs.

  20. How do we get rockstar Maggie

  21. got an update that says otto is available to jam! oh…gotta buy a skin..of course

  22. Hit the “glitch” , but the prize track is still advancing.

  23. Thanks. 1500 Cuffs for daily challenge today! Have Nick in all 4 games! And Rocking Otto available!

  24. It sucks that characters we spent donuts on will only be utilized for one act. I will purchase more characters each act, but there should have been a disclaimer: ‘buy the Sungazers to help out with Act 1’ for those who are Donut poor.

    • While I’m not EA and not absolutely 100% sure; I’m 99.99% confident that yes, you can use these Rock only characters in Acts 2 and 3 on Rock stages (i.e. those with a blue lining).

  25. Aafreen Inayat

For Act 1, the only burning question I have left is whether Freddy Freeman & Shredder Stevens and now Rockin’ Otto will be useful in Acts 2 & 3 for earning event currency??

If yes, I will buy them
If no, I dont need them

Players are divided on this topic ……. wish we had some confirmation (EA?? You hear me??)

  26. One correction: I unlocked Nick Delacourt yesterday, he starts out with 1.5 stars, not 2.5.
My only problem now is to decide who gets left behind: with Nick and Al unlocked, and the premium characters, I have one surplus rocker. Any opinion if it is better to just leave one character behind completely, or alternate and level up everyone a bit more slowly?

    • I beleive that all 3 stages will continue use throuout the event, otherwise no rockers would ever reach 5 stars. I think that blue rockers will be limited to the rock stage, while multi color players will be able to cross over to other stages. That said, I don’t think it’s any more important to upgrade one over the other as long as no one is totally left behind. I’m rotating my non-players based on their premium tasks that I normally use…Homer is a stone cutter overnight at the table, and Apu bowls when he is off. Wish the Rev had some sort of premium skin, but he gets a rotation also…he generally drives his train for a day. All the others play non-stop, including Otto(woohoo!) who is now playing on the main stage. Finally…a premium skin for Otto…my fav!

    • Thanks, corrected 2.5 to 1.5.

  27. Yay, we can use Otto, our premium character that we paid all those donuts for…if we pay another 120 for a skin. They did the same with Boobarella recently. That is rubbish. They can’t seem to do any event lately without finding a way to piss players off. I know they are trying to sell donuts to the premiums, but there must be many ways of doing that without just gauging people for characters they already own.

    • Just another reason to KEM farm.

      • Agreed. I think he’s a terrible deal for those who already had Otto, but, because of farming, I have plenty of donuts to spare on things that aren’t a good deal, but which might just be fun to have. I think that’s why they priced the Rockin’ Otto bundle that way for people who already had him….a lot of those “seasoned” players are farming now and can afford to splurge on a deal like that, if they want to.

        • It used to be that if you had the right premium characters it was a bonus so having many was a good thing. Now it seems that they are no benefit unless you want to pay twice. In fact it’s a hindrance as you miss out on including them in the event. It just seems very tight of EA. Lots of their recent moves seem to be. Like the last event you could not complete without spending 🍩. It’s a fine line between gauging your client base and depleting your client base.

  28. Thank you, this is very helpful. I have grouped all stages together since this morning in the hopes to catch the fans faster.

Rockin’ Otto appeared in the store this morning, I’ll finally add Otto to my town (just need 19 more donuts)! Yay!

I am a bit taken aback, that some of the premium characters may not help during the entire event. This feels like a cheap move from EA. I am glad I got the information before spending any donuts and I am still hoping, a “rock only” character like Otto could still at least play on the Rock stage during the Pop/HipHip acts.

  29. Ruth-Merwe Thorsrud

All in all the event is quite fun. However, the search for the lawyers is very tiresome and time consuming. Using the building mode helps, but it takes too much time. I am also not pleased to only can visit 10 neighbours to earn currency. Thanks for all your useful information. Greetings from Norway

  30. For those that dont have otto and bus he now available as rock combo 120 donuts in store 😀
