Should I Spend Donuts on Flaming Moe’s?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on and your cell phones ready to light up the night because Homerpalooza has arrived in Springfield!  That’s right the rock fest has begun!  Our stores are now jam-packed with premium items just tempting us to drop our sprinkles on!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Flaming Moe’s to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this flaming watering hole to your town…

Building/Decoration: Flaming Moe’s
Donut Cost: 60 Donuts
Earns:  8 /4hrs (when event is over it won’t earn anything)
Other Info:
This is a FACADE for Moe’s.  NOT a new building. So, like a costume for a building.

Leaves stores September 12th

Pros
-One of the few ways to earn extra crafting currency
-Comes with a short 2 part questline
-Classic facade for Moe’s from a classic episode

Cons
-Not a stand alone building, just a “skin” for Moe’s
-After the event is over, like Moe’s, it won’t earn event currency
-Pricey for just a facade

Final Thought
Premium:
While it doesn’t really do much, outside of earn Crafting currency, I know most Premium players will pick this up.  Why?  Because it’s a classic.  What Simpson fan doesn’t remember the Flaming Moe’s episode?  And Homer dramatically falling through the ceiling for his big reveal.  Premium players, you’ll likely buy this for nostalgic reasons.  But if you’re not nostalgic for it, pass.  In the end it’s just a skin for Moe’s.

Freemium:
Personally, I think Freemium players should pass.  While yes, it does help with crafting currency, I can’t tell you how many times at the end of an event people are asking me what to do with their leftover crafting currency.
Save your 60 donuts for a real building.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’m on the fence.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

I’d Like to be Flaming, Please Pt. 1
Moe starts

Moe: Okay, fellas…this flashy new sign is bound to suck all kinds of cash-splashing musicians.
Barney: You going to provide bottle service?
Moe: Yeah.  They cause me any trouble, I’m going to smash a bottle and “service” up their pretty faces.
Make Moe Clean Up the Joint- 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp

I’d Like to be Flaming, Please Pt. 2
Moe starts

Moe: The bar looks fine.  Now, for the final step to success – get social media-ed about by a hipster.
Cool Homer: I got you covered: “Moe’s tavern is dark, squalid, and frightening to women.”  “It’s a retro experience you won’t want to miss.”
Moe: Are rats retro?  ‘Cause I got a lot of those.
Make Moe Serve Flaming Cocktails- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

  1. It’s too expensive for just a skin. I’m hoping to earn enough donuts for Bleeding Gums Murphy before the end of the event.

  2. I was thinking of buying this for the crafting, because I want to craft more and more crowds of people so that I can put them not just in the concerts,

but also in a long queues outside of krusty burger, the nightclubs, restaurants, the mono rail, airport etc…

I’m very tempted to buy the skin for this purpose because I question whether I will have enough crowds of people for the concerts and the queues of people I want outside of the other buildings along with all of the other stuff

  3. I’ve wanted Flaming Moe’s for so long, I couldn’t not get it now. I’ll be in a bind, though, when Uncle Moe’s Family Feedbag finally makes its appearance!

  4. Total pass for me.
Way overpriced for a building skin

  5. Was on the fence for a while, because it seemed like a lot for basically a new sign on top of Moe’s, and not much benefit. Then I remembered that the best benefit is to have a souvenir of a stand-out episode, and the smile it brings to my face every time I see it. This will definitely stay on from now on. Or until something better comes along 😉

  6. Bought it as soon as it was offered, it helping with the event was just a bonus.

  7. If it came with Steven Tyler I would’ve bought it since I was waitered at a club where Joe Perry’s sister got married & hung out with those 2 briefly in their dreadful early 80’s era XD

  8. I’m passing. I’m not spending donuts on a building skin.

  9. Shiny

  10. I picked the flaming Moe’s couldn’t help it. Think I’m done with with mystery boxes though. Time travel event I got the freak show tent and this event saxophone Lisa skin. Both painfully useless. To EA this make those useful in the Halloween event or I’ll write another complaint post here lol. Big Brother is watching.. hopefully..

    • I too ended up with the lackluster Freakshow tent, hoping weave it in with the pagan festival (that I missed a lot on cuz, meh.)4 meets the music festival

  11. Off topic but…. is anyone else getting bombed out daily and having to do the 30 minute download? It used to happen to me every Wednesday then a couple days a week, but now it is happening every day. It’s put a major block on my ability to tap every 4 hours. Anyone know a fix? Thanks!

    • my friend using an ipad says this is happening a lot lately. i use a kindle fire hd and my game crashes occassionally but i don’t think i’ve ever had to reinstall. what a pain! so maybe try a different device if you have one.

    • Can happen if your tapping device hasn’t enough free space – if you have unused apps, pictures, videos etc on it, you might want to consider deleting them. Also, if you have an origin ID (i.e. a saved version of your town on the origin servers), deleting TSTO, restarting your device, completely re-installing TSTO, might help. No guarantees, though; and don’t blame me if it doesn’t work 😉

    • are you playing on iOS? i noticed it occured to me when my iPad was running out of space; after clearing some videos worth of space, it stopped.

      • It depends on what kind of device you have. My trusty old iPad2 is struggling with the game, but my iPad2 Air runs the game smoothly as silk.
What a difference some air makes 😄

  12. Crafting has been a breeze. Boycotting Flaming Moe’s until the Red Hot Chili Peppers are in game.

  13. Do premium facades mean premium pay outs for even non-premium character jobs there?

  14. It is expensive, but the episode is, in my book, one of the best of The Simpsons. So I caved in and bought the skin. It will remain on Moe’s for the foreseeable future.

    • There’s no way I wasn’t getting this- especially since a couple of years ago we were at Universal Studios, in Moe’s, having Flaming Moe’s- Yes, I had to have it!

  15. And the secret ingredient is…cough syrup.

  16. Random unrelated question:

Do you know if Brandine’s “Birthing a Spuckler” task can be sped up for free in the final 10% of time? I’m in the final 8 days of her task and I can’t speed it up even though that should be the last 10% of the entire task.

    • Not sure…PEEPS? Anyone know this one? I haven’t “Birthed a Spuckler” in eons…

    • At under 2 hours it can be sped up. I think 2 hrs is the max speed up time for any task.

    • Yes, but I believe it’s limited to a 2 hour speed up.

    • Good timing! She’s scheduled to give birth in my town tonight. As of this morning, there was no way to speed the task (+/- 8 hrs before).

    • To be honest, I’m pretty sure there was no speeding up allowed (for free) on that one at all. I remember because on the last day of my first Spuckler, I kept checking and expecting it to go Free at any moment. No such luck.

    • Sorry this is too late for you this time, but actually the best thing to do with Spuckler’s is pay the 30 donuts to rush them right at the start. This represents fantastic value – a discount in excess of 1000 donuts compared to rushing other 90 day events such as growing corn!

    • Thanks for all the comments guys. I think I’ll wait out the rest of the 7 days or so. I might just use donuts to speed up the last Spuckler child since I mainly got Brandine to help with recycling.

  17. I love this thing 😍. Had to put lots of braziers around it, now it may have to stick around after the event 😀.

    • Also…donuts are back for neighbor visits! Thanks, EA…🍩🍩🍩😘

    • I really like what you did there with Flaming Moes. Well done. As for me, this episode stands out as an absolute Simpsons classic, and I’m a premium player, but 60 donuts for a building skin with no other benefits (post-event) is just too much for me. Know what else is too much for this premium player? 120 donuts for an already-premium-character skin and a measly 2% on the sign. (although I was really looking forward to paying about 60 for the skin….)

    • I am going to flatter you, by copying your idea 😄
I have plenty of braziers from The Road To Riches.

      • Thanks…I’ve “borrowed” so many ideas from my neighbors, it’s hard to remember if I really thought of anything myself😜.
By the way…I brought home a new kitten today. My kitty died in January and it’s been too long without a purr and a cuddle. 😻 Hope you’re able to find another purr buddy soon.

    • Looks good with the braziers. I had Moe’s surrounded by those burning garbarge cans for a while now, and they go well with it, too.

  18. From now on, I think you should say: Premium/Farmium. I don’t pay for stuff anymore, but I can get anything a premium player can get.

  19. The correct answer is yes. Any other answer is irrational.

  20. If this gave money income after the event, I’d consider it.

This is from a funny episode.

“All work and Moe play makes Moe a Moe Moe.” 😛

  21. Are you going to do a “Should I buy” on that absurd Otto skin that allows him to play on the rock stage for a measly 120 donuts?

  22. No way.

  23. Definitely agree with the review I bought this pretty much straight away purely for the nostalgia of a great episode.

  24. When the weight of the world has got you down and you want to end your life.
Bills to pay, a dead end job and problems with the wife.
Well don’t throw in the towl cause there’s a place right down the block.
Where you can drink your miseries away.
At Moe’s, Let’s all go to Flaming Moe’s
Where liquor in a mug, warms you like a hug. Happiness is just a Flaming Moe away.

  25. I’m passing. If it continued to earn afterwards, I’d be first in line, but I can’t justify that many donuts for temporary gain…

    • I feel the same way. And even though this is a classic, I actually am really into my ‘Mo’s’ Moe’s Tavern skin from the Pride 2017 Event!
