Addicts Bracket Challenge: Most Desired Building, Week 8

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there are plenty of buildings in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Building Bracket Battle.

Like last year, with your help, we created a Bracket of 64 beloved buildings we believe would bring a smile to your face, have great tasks, could make for an awesome event, or simply be a nice idea for a new Friends Point prize. Unlike last year though, you had a huge say in what buildings made the cut.

We pre-selected 96 buildings organized into eight thematic conferences. We had chosen four to get automatic entries into the Bracket. However, your votes in the pre-Bracket polls selected which four buildings would join them in each conference. Those 64 buildings would then battle each other in six rounds of head-to-head matchups, that we hope produces the most debate in the comments below.

With the Bracket determined, every Friday over summer, we’ll post that week’s matchups and your votes will determine which buildings advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Most Desired Building” on Friday September 1st.

For general housekeeping rules and guidelines, please click on the link to the first pre-Bracket poll.

Here’s a recap of the results from our eight Round 3 matchups that determined the Conference Champions:

#3 seed Troy McClure’s House (73% – 994 votes) defeated #5 Lenny’s House (27% – 367 votes) to earn the title of most desired house/mansion building

#1 Moe’s Apartment (71% – 942 votes) defeated #2 Snuggler’s Cove (29% – 384 votes) to earn the title of most desired apartment/hotel building

#1 Springfield University (81% – 1,075 votes) destroyed #3 Springfield Police Academy (19% – 260 votes) to earn the title of most desired academic/museum building

#6 Mt. Splashmore (57% – 750 votes) upset #1 Praiseland (43% – 574 votes) to earn the title of most desired attraction/landmark building

#3 CBGB (51% – 661 votes) barely beat #5 Moe’s Express (49% – 639) to earn the title of most desired bar/club building

#2 The Pretzel Wagon (58% – 766 votes) upset #1 The Slaughterhouse (42% – 544 votes) to earn the title of most desired restaurant building

#1 I Can’t Believe It’s A Law Firm (73% – 957 votes) defeated #3 Happy Sailor Tattoo Parlor (27% – 353 votes) to earn the title of most desired Springfield Mall building

and lastly

#3 Box Factory (78% – 1,027 votes) defeated #5 KrustyCo SweatShop (22% – 289 votes)

Here’s a look at the updated Bracket:

Now without further ado, we present the four Round 4 Quarter-Final matchups:

Reminder, voting is open until noon EDT Thursday August 17.

What are your thoughts on last weeks results? Any surprises? How’s your Bracket pick’em looking? What are your thoughts on this weeks four Round 4 matchups? 1. My bonus donut thing is gone!!! I’m freaking out a bit!! Anyone else? I have tried the normal things to get it back. Help!!! 🙁

  2. If the people making decisions decide that retirement is best for anything Phil Hartman, that’s understandable. I just think a comedian, artist, musician etc. Is best honored by not being forgotten. If his work on earth can make people laugh long after he’s gone, I think that’s a good thing. I wish they would show a Hartman character in a new episode. Or even have homer flashback to a Hartman character scene. I’d probably do 500 donuts for McClure and his delorean. Not like I’d pass on it at 525 donuts, probably get it at any price

  3. CBGB would be a nice addition to this event!
    ****grabby hands****

  4. Addicts live TODAY!

Live from the United States of America, 🇺🇸

    😁

  5. Are we voting for Troy McLure’s house in the hope that we get the character with the building ?

    Pretzel-Wagon! !
and Marge’s car with the Pretzel Wagon skin ! !
(Auto-correcktt does that sentence for me)

    🇬🇧😁

  6. Any neighbours playing? ❓❓❓

    My “Totbox lights” are green
    and I’ve got 54 lawyers

    🇬🇧😁

  7. We have Grimey & space Homer, we need Bart’s factory!

  8. What a shame Praiseland lost. Just shows the good sense out there.
    As for the rest…
    Box factory please

    • Why? I’m not asking that in a challenging way – I’m genuinely curious as to why that building seems to be so popular.

      • It’s iconic. A lot of episodes and past Simpsons games feature or mention the box factory.

      • Well I’m glad you’re not in a challenging mood Sandra.
I like it because strange as it may seem I like the design, could do with some more buildings in my industrial area, have been bored on school trips and I’ve got a load of nails to get rid of.

  9. I’m surprised Troy McClure’s house is doing so well. Much as I’d love to see Troy (or any (every, really) Hartmann character) in the game, the bracket is for independent buildings and his house would not add anything to [my] Springfield. It is unattractive and looks incredibly like the future home from the sci-fi event. I would prefer any of the buildings it’s gone up against – Lenny’s house, the murder house, Judge Harm’s houseboat, and Moe’s apartment would all add more value to my game. I can’t officially change my vote for the winner at this stage, but this ugly house might win the challenge.

    • You know, I completely agree with you in terms of the aesthetics and the similarity to other existing buildings, etc., yet I keep finding myself voting for it, I think because I miss him so much (even though I don’t ever expect Phil’s characters to appear in the game and I fully respect that decision). But maybe it’ll come up against something towards the end that will sway me away from voting for it.

But, yeah – now that the Jazz Hole is out of the running, I do think Troy’s house has a real shot of taking the whole thing.

  10. Thank god I Can’t Believe It’s a Law Firm didn’t lose to the stupid second tattoo parlor, too!

  11. Just noticed there’s an app store update tonight. Don’t notice any changes as of yet though.

    • The brew land id’s now viable and the Money Mountain questline and the Redwood questline is back (for those folks who had them before the event hit). Also the rock stage is now the landing zone when you visit neighbors.

  12. CBGB vs Pretzel Wagon was tough, but I have a place in my heart for the original in NYC since I have a very foggy memory of stumbling around 315 Bowery, Boy the late 70’s and 80’s were fun!

  13. Keep TSTO going forever, or at least make it where we can fully download the game, independent of their servers. I’ve dumped enough money into this game the past few years for it to go up in smoke.

  14. Tough one. I want both Springfield U and Mt. Splashmore!

  15. I think this is an interesting contest I find myself looking forward to it every week. And I gotta say it’s getting tougher and tougher to pick since it’s dwindling down, and I too agree this week’s toughest battle was box company vs Troy McClure’s house but I think people want ANYTHING Troy McClure! Best character not available (I wonder if it’s a legal thing like infringing or copy rights I don’t know) But anyways a house or work without the character doesn’t make sense… So get on that EA. We want Troy!

    • I don’t think it’s any legal issue or copyright issue, but just a family of co-workers trying to respect the memory of a tragically lost loved one in a way they seem is best. (Though most of us would argue the best way to respect and preserve the memory of the late great Canadian icon Phil Hartmann is by introducing his characters Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz into the game).

On a side note, you mixed Hartmann characters. The match up is Box Factory vs Lionel Hutz’s Law Firm, not Box Factory vs Troy McClure’s House.

      • Lol, I did but my point more being the character or characters of Phil Hartman in general and as you do you put that reply very nicely. I suspect the same that the family is obviously not going to use his name and career for financial gain or they would have already.. but if they do it tastefully the family should allow it he is a freaking icon in the Simpson’s world and all over the comedy spectrum. Besides the actual Simpson’s family, he is the Simpson’s he is and always has been one of my very favorite characters. Maybe it is wishful thinking but it’s just not the same without that man and his colorful characters. R.I.P Phil..

        • I thought it wasnt the family its was the Simpsons creators. He was such a part of the show and died so tragically that they decided to completely and totally retire his characters out of respect. Nothing financial. I agree with their decision not to revoke that just for a game.

    • I agree. Although I voted for it, because it’s a cool building, but I think that having Troy McClure’s house in my town without Troy McClure would probably just make me sad every time I looked at it. 🙁

  16. Aaaaah! I was so torn between The Box Factory and I Can’t Believe it’s a Law Firm. Ehy you do this, tourney? 😆

And so happy that Pretzel Wagon is still in the running!

  17. This week I agreed with Alissa 2 times, Safi 3 times, Wookie 1 time and Patric 4 times.
    The total so far is:
    Patric 47
    Alissa 40
    Wookie 40
    Safi 36

  18. Woo! All of my picks from last week won 😀

Although I Can’t Believe It’s A Law Firm vs the Box Factory is a tough choice! The outcome may well prove fascinating!

    • Lol I was just going to write the exact same thing. 👍

    • What’s the thing with the box factory? I know it’s super popular, but why? I don’t remember the episode that it’s from, but maybe someone can jog my memory? (Although I did miss a few years of episodes between, say, three and seven(?) years ago…)

  19. I agree with wookie this week but so many good pics gone .
