“POP” Goes Act 2! Homepalooza Act 2 is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

“Sick and tired of hearing all these people talk about
What’s the deal with this pop life and when is it gonna fade out”

And now that I’ve thrown up a little bit in my mouth quoting N’Suck N’SYNC (BSB for life! haha) Gooooood mooooorning Tappers!  Welcome to the wee early morning hours, who’s ready to get their pop on?  Brush up on those Boy Band dance moves, because it’s time for Homerpalooza to go Pop, as Act 2 is flooded into our Springfields this morning…

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Lisa will start this for you with dialogue.  This will be followed by needing to keep your Rock characters Jamming, because you’re going to need that prize track currency.

Act 2 “Pop” Runs until August 29th

Just what does Act 2 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…

New Prize Currency for Act 2

Sunglasses

So the ability to earn Cuffs is now gone.  Your counter prize track for Act 2 has reset to zero because you have zero Sunglasses.  So forget about those Cuffs…time to wear your sunglasses at night, and collect those glasses!

You’ll earn Sunglasses very similar to how you earned Cuffs during Act 1….

-Clearing the fan tappables (they now earn 20 /tap)
– Clearing fans in your Neighbor’s towns (now earns 10/tap)
-Dropping Lawyers in Neighbor’s towns, or clearing Lawyers they dropped in your town
-Jam Sessions
-Weird Al Prize track
-Daily Challenges

You’ll also earn Sunglasses from the questline…don’t ignore the questline.  You earn a ton of Event currency from it, it’s important for your prize track total..

New Details About Fans (Tappables) in Act 2

For Act 2 Fans now drop MORE currency then they did in Act 1.  Each Fan you clear in YOUR OWN town will drop 20  , with a chance for 4 and a lawyer to drop.

Fans you tap in YOUR NEIGHBOR’S TOWN will drop 10 , with a chance for  4 and a lawyer to drop.

This is an increase from Act 1. (and this is projected to increase again in Act 3, so don’t get discouraged by the prize totals)

Weird Al

Weird Al Prize track is still there, this time you can earn Extra Sunglasses and Crafting Currency.  The final prize unlocks the ability for Weird Al to play on the pop stage.

Act 2 Personal Prizes

Pop Stage 10,500

Land Token/New Venue for Jams- 24, 200

Stage Turret- 41,100

Pop Star Plan- 60,100

400 Tickets- 79, 100

Alaska Nebraska- 105,500

Again, don’t be discouraged by the total  required for each prize.  You’ll be earning MORE  for doing the same things you did in Act 1.  So just plug along, you’ll get there.

Act 1 Prizes…

If you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “ACT  1” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright buy each one left at the point you left off at. (Just like every other event recently.)

Crafting

Crafting remains, as it was during Act 1, for Act 2.

Ticket Crafting Currency is earned via the prize track, Weird Al Prizes, Tappables, Lawyers & Flaming Moe’s (if you purchased it)

Bonuts

You’ll once again be able to earn Bonuts (Bonus Donuts) during the questline, instead of when you finish the prize track.  Similar to how it worked in Act 1.  Should unlock once you’ve finished the Act 2 questline.

Now you’ll need to earn 10,000  to earn the Bonuts.

New Items in the Store..

New Bedlam Rest Home & Leon Kompowsky- 150 Donuts

And before you ask…

  1. No way I’m going to be able to earn Alaska Nebraska in time. First time in years of playing I couldn’t finish to earn the character. Disappointed.

  2. I keep coming up short by one character for one of the venues. What am I doing wrong?

    • Probably nothing. When all the venues are pop except for the rock stage and Simpsons house, then, unless you’ve already gotten Akaka Nebraska, there’s no way to fill all of the slots, even if you have all of the other premium characters.

  3. My KEM & Moes are constantly Pop stages only, which is really annoying as for the whole week I have not been able to use Apu, Dr Hibbert and 1 of my other rock jammers; so that is 3 inactive jammers everyday!
EA seem to be restricting players from getting the most out of Act 2.
The Springfield Elementary School is also opened as a Pop only stage, which I haven’t been able to have anyone play there yet.
This is an overbalance to Pop only stages which is really silly and annoying.

  4. I’m sure plenty of people already commented about this with Act 1, but I’m so glad that the Bonuts come at the end of the questline instead of the end of the prize track. Even if you’re on top of it the whole time, often times you’ll finish up the prize track right at the end of the calendar for that Act. Kind of disheartening to get 3 Bonuts after all that work. Buy the end of Act 1 of Homerpalooza, I had gotten many Bonuts…

  5. It’s a Rock and Roll Marathon 17 hours going one more set and we’re done for the night boys . 🎸

  6. I’m a bit disappointed both BGM AND Leon cost donuts. That’s a bit dodgy by EA knowing players have been waiting for these characters for a long time and will probably purchase both. It I didn’t get Weird Al for free, I probably wouldn’t play this event out of protest.

    • Not dodgy…normal. Every time a character is highly requested it comes into the game…for donuts. Happens with all of them. (starting with Crazy Cat Lady way back when)

    • Well that’s the business side of the game. EA still needs to make money to pay their staff and they can’t do it if they’re giving everything away for free. Of course they want you to use real-world cash to buy donuts. I think it’s fair that he’s premium.

  7. I’m confused by whom we can use and at which venue to perform. Last night I was able to use Ralph and Nelson for Kwik E Mart but after clearing this morning, I cannot get them to perform again. This means I cannot maximize performances and get more currency. Quite concerned as the requirements for Act 2 are higher. Despite having more performers, such as Ralph and Nelson, I cannot strategise properly.

Is there a way to tell who can perform at each area? Thanks as always for any advice.

    • Moe’s and KEM are multi-purpose venues for all three Acts, while each Act has two unique venues. More to be revealed in the Jam Sessions post.

But for now, Rock Stage and Simpsons House are Rock only; Pop Stage and (wait for the post – how’s that for building anticipation 🙂 ) are Pop only; and Moe’s and KEM are both Rock and Pop.

So when you go to jam at Moe’s and KEM, they will randomly require either Rock or Pop. It’s random, so you could have one of four possibilities:
      1) KEM = Rock, Moe = Rock
      2) KEM = Rock, Moe = Pop
      3) KEM = Pop, Moe = Rock
      4) KEM = Pop, Moe = Pop

      • Got it – Thanks so much! Are you their programmer for this event? How did you even figure it out?!

        • No, definitely not a programmer. I just make educated deductions. Even if I’m wrong, it’s like the old adage – even a broken clock is right twice a day.

  8. IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA! WHERE’S THE TYLENOL?!

  9. It is getting tougher and tougher to earn donuts via the Monorail in this event!

  10. I am not concerned about earning enough to win everything as I know I will with proper tapping technique and all ready at 8000 glasses half way through day 1.
My strategy right now, as i have more characters then jam spots is to send my lowest star characters first to help build them up. As I get pop stage should open up enough spots to use everyone again. Then all my characters will hopefully be as maxed out as possible going into Level 3.

  11. Ugh!! All that work I did to get my jammers to 5 stars and now they add the kids!! WHY EA why!!! Okay done venting 😩😩

    • You can still use your “jammers” on the rock stage and Simpson house…and some of them will cross over to the pop stage, KEM, and Moe’s (BGM, Maggie, Lisa and Wierd Al). The KEM and Moe’s will go back and forth, to accomodate pop and then rock performers. So, with the new Pop stage, you will have a minimum of 14 spots to put performers…and another venue is coming soon. A possible 10 spots for rockers (or 8, or 6…depending on KEM and Moe’s) and a total of 9 “rock only” performers means not many rockers will have to sit out too many sets. Enjoy your riches.😎

    • You got them to 5 stars already !!!

  12. Just a heads up since I don’t see it mentioned here (maybe someone mentioned it within the comments, just didn’t see it) Aside from sending people on their concert task, other characters like Ned and a few others have their own personal task to earn currency this act. Unless I’m glitched and they aren’t supposed to be able to use those tasks until the Pop stage is unlocked, I’m not sure, but yeah, currently I have Ned and a few others sent on their own personal tasks to earn currency…

  13. When are they going to extend the jam sessions to four people on all the buildings? I have two extra people that I send on other jobs because Moes, The Simpsons house and Kwik-E-Mart only have two open slots.

  14. Hi everybody, (pardon my curt tone but)..
The Act II prizes totally stink to high heaven.

  15. In act 2 several characters (Bart, Millhouse, Nelson, and Ralph) are added to the Star Management page, but they aren’t on the page to add them to a jam session. How can they earn rewards if I can’t add them to a jam session?
    Anyone else having this issue?

    • A post on Act 2 Jam Sessions is coming. But in the mean time, here is a summary:

Moe’s and KEM are multi-purpose venues for all three Acts, while each Act has two unique venues. More to be revealed in the Jam Sessions post.

But for now, Rock Stage and Simpsons House are Rock only; Pop Stage and (wait for the post – how’s that for building anticipation 🙂 ) are Pop only; and Moe’s and KEM are both Rock and Pop.

So when you went to jam at Moe’s and KEM, they were both probably Rock. However, they will randomly require either Rock or Pop. So you may find both Rock, both Pop, or one of each at those two venues.

    • My first jam session of this act was 15 min after the act started, and I was able to send those characters to a session. This morning, they were unavailable. I am betting they may be part of the pop stage sessions, when it unlocks. Just my guess.

So you may find both Rock, both Pop, or one of each at those two venues.

  16. How do I get the pop stage? I accidentally didn’t place it at the beginning and now I can’t find it in my inventory.

  17. Where are the porta-pottys??

  18. ThatOneWeirdTap

Would of loved Gil to come to our towns this act with Lady Gaga, Gaga Train (monorail skin or just decoration), Baby Googoo (Maggie skin), Gaga Egg, and perhaps the Flash Mob (like the crowds, with three variants when tapped). Also the prizes aren’t too great this act either, but would like Alaska Nebraska though, if it wasn’t for her I’d skip this act. Might buy some donuts and get L.T. Smash or Rachel Jordan when they come and if they’re reasonably priced.

  19. One of the prizes is a “stage turret”? WTF? I sure hope it only shoots T-shirts😳.
