Homerpalooza – Act II – The Math to Getting It All…

First of all…to recap from the “Act II Calendar Post”… DON’T KILL THE MESSENGER (Me!) when you see the numbers. As you all figured out, numbers, just like our perception of reality are all relative.  What seems to be harder…is more of an exponential mind-freak…in that even though the goals are  a LOT higher per day…the rewards for tapping and earning have increased at the same, if not higher increments.

So… for those who want to “cut to the chase” and don’t care about all of the minutia and detail involved with breaking out the math of each quadrant…I will simply say what I say in almost every update- LOG ON AT LEAST FOUR TIMES A DAY AND DO THE BASICS…

There. You can stop reading now. Or at least some of you can stop reading.  For those of you who continue to ask, “But why???” and “But how????” and “When are they going to bring back Otto???” I will continue down the road to minutia…which is long…and peppered with redundant road signs.
How redundant?? Well…let’s start by simply altering the the info from the FIRST ACT MATH POST…

The Basics…

First, let’s start with the The Calendar… (new calendar post)
The “Target Number for Daily Performances” in Act II (kinda like getting a gold record), is 3450  7,536 cuffs per day. That seems overwhelming…but, if you count a day as 24 hours (and last time I looked, there are 24 hours in a day), there are ample chances to tap and to earn the SUNGLASSES that earn the stuffs that help you “get it all!”

Act 1 Event Currency:
SUNGLASSES are the Act II Event Currency
File:Sunglasses.png

And tickets are the crafting currency…

First the SUNGLASSES…
You earn them primarily for tapping FANS…

Each Fan you tap will yield 20 Sunglasses and a chance for 2
Spawn Rate….
1/ 10 Minutes.  Max of 30 in your town at once, bank of 30.
Finding these guys isn’t as easy as finding a snake, or a gremlin…but they DO tend to congregate around the stages and the performers, if you wait for them.

In short, in a 4 hour period, you will get 24 every 4 hours (more if you have some in the bank from a layoff…like sleeping).  So….clearing all of them every 4 hours will generate at least 1,200 Cuffs 2,400 (5 clearings…24 fans…20 each). And as many as 30 every 4 hours 6 times a day if you don’t sleep, for 1,800 3,600 (and before we start debating this…the 3,600 will come due to the reserve bank…and no sleep…and isn’t worth the side-effects of sleep deprivation.

Neighbor Visits and Actions
You will also get SUNGLASSES when you tap fans in your neighbor’s towns…10 cuffs per action…and we are still limited to just 30 actions (or only 10 neighbors!!)  BAH!!  So…at best, you’re gonna earn just 300 cuffs per day, for finding fans in your neighbor’s towns…which isn’t as easy as it seems.  Again…I consider this to be a poor “Return on Tapping” or ROT.

HOWEVER… Dropping lawyers into your neighbor’s towns does generate a POTENTIALLY much higher ROT…in that if your neighbor clears the lawyers in the 4-hour time limit, you will earn bonus SUNGLASSES and tickets, for their efforts.  You DO earn SUNGLASSES if they don’t clear them…but, I guess it’s all to the bottom line. Every bit helps.

ARE YOU STARTING TO GET THE IDEA THAT THIS IS JUST LIKE ACT I…With Different Numbers and Sunglasses instead of Cuffs?  Well…because it IS!

HOWEVER, there are a handful of differences…All Designed to Make Hitting the Daily Limits EAsier…

  1.  There are a more stages…and more “players” to keep “playing sessions.”  We start by adding the “Pop” stage…as well as adding “Springfield Elementary” as a place where you can play sessions, and send existing characters after you unlock the “Free Land” (prize #2 in Act II-24,200 Sunglasses).
  2. Your existing players continue to increase their earning potential …and your new existing players (Nelson, Milhouse and Bart) started with 2 stars.  All good!
  3. Each Session Earns More as your stars increase, and you manage your players accordingly (not to be confused with accordionly…which is strictly reserved for Weird Al).

A Reminder on Increasing Your Stars

Each full star adds 25  event currency to their payout.  But half stars split it, the first earns 12 the second half goes to 13. (so at 1 star rev lovejoy earns 25 cuffs, at 1.5 stars he’ll earn 37 cuffs/performance (in first slot) at 2 stars he earns 50).

Same for ALL characters, just premium start at higher stars.  But when they’re maxed they’ll all earn 125 Cuffs. (or act 2/3 currency)

And to level up…

80 per half level.  There are 5 stars, but technically 10 levels. 80 will fill the star half way

Each performance counts as 5 of the 80

So…to break that down… You will need 16 sessions to move the Star Rating 1/2 Star. Yes…that is a LOAD OF PRACTICE…but, nobody said getting good at an instrument was easy…right? So…to MAX OUT (five stars) you may need to play as many as 160 overall sessions (Premium Characters Less…as they start with more stars). 160 x 4 hours each…640 hours of dedicated practice (and you still won’t be able to play a diatonic scale on a sax). So…just keep the sessions coming…and be happy with the returns they bring you.

And yes…I bought Leon…you really had to ask? He starts out with multiple stars…and sounds just like Michael Jackson (except he isn’t voiced, for obvious reasons). But he isn’t available to perform, until you earn the Pop stage.

THIS IS WHY LOGGING ON TO DO SESSIONS EVERY FOUR HOURS IS SO IMPORTANT!!!

Tickets…oh…the tickets…

OK. Let’s just get this out of our systems…The Crafting Items are mostly re-purposed…and kinda lame…other than the crowds.  I actually LIKE all of the music related stuff (even if they mislabeled the monitors as “floor speakers.”  I’ve done enough shows in my life, both on and behind stage, to appreciate all of the rigging stuff…and the speaker stacks. I will be building some massive lights and sound… But, for the most part, I agree…a “fog machine” that is mostly a single Pfffftttttt…is more like a fart machine. Smell ya later!

Weird Al Earning Rates…
This is simple. Just DO IT… keep all of the available characters who can craft Al coins doing so…EVERY FOUR HOURS (starting to see a trend here??).
As it turns out…my concert post revealed that those who have seen Al in concert think his shows are AMAZING. So…while I’m not a fan of the music…I have added him to my “must see at least once” list.

TO SUMMARIZE THE MATH

1. CLEAR YOUR FANS for 2,400-3,600 cuffs per day.
2. Play Your Sessions for at least 5,000 cuffs per day (5 sessions that earn a minimum of 1,000 Sunglasses per session across at least 4 stages)
3. Clear the lawyers if you can find them…and tap your neighbor’s towns fans if you have the time. HINT…it’s WAY easier to drop lawyers than it is to tap fans). You should earn at least 350 a day for this.
4. DO THE DAILY CHALLENGES…they won’t yield cuffs…but will give you at 1,000-1,500 a day in bonuses (compare that to trying to find the fans in your neighbor’s towns).

SO…DO THE MATH… Even Without Daily Challenges…which will bring you ANOTHER 1,00 to 1,500 Sunglasses…this Act should be EAsy!! Right?

OK. Back to tapping. Let’s try and relax…stay calm…and have some fun!

  1. SHould I spend all my tickets before Act Three begins..or do they transfer over once act 2 ends?

  2. maybe not quite the right spot for this.
Where are people at with the Kwik-E-Merch track. I have maxed it at level 16 and will have the bling cup in next day or two.

Will there be more come Act 3?? or is that it, Im done the track and all my festival tickets are just a number now.

  3. For me half my characters don’t show up on the list most of the time and so I don’t have people to do jam sessions.

  4. Although Act 2 offers more Springfield Characters to Jam on more Stages? The amount of Event Currency required to obtain Prizes has gone up considerably (even if you’re trying to obtain 7,000 – 10,000 Event Currency per day? it’s going to be very close!)

I won’t even bother trying to click on Fans to obtain Donuts / Bonuts after obtaining the last Prize (odds are I will get more Donuts / Bonuts by KEM Farming – blame that on EA!)

    Happy Tapping 😅

  5. I did my calculations and I am earning somewhere between 1600-1700 cuffs every 4 hours when I clear each stage of their gigs. Pretty happy with that.

  6. i cant ever fill them all out. I dont have rock star otto or the michael jackson dude. No matter how i send the guys, i cant fill them all up. Clever way to try and get me to buy the michael jackson guy. Not gonna do it.

    • If you only have freemium players, you will have empty venues. Here’s what I would do:

Scenario A – Moe’s and KEM (both Rock)
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
      Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
      Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty

Scenario B – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al unlocked
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Pop Weird Al at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
      Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
      Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty

Scenario C – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al not available
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Bart at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rock Weird Al alone
Pop Stage (Pop only): Nelson alone
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Milhouse and Ralph

Scenario D – Moe’s and KEM (both Pop)
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rev Lovejoy, Homer
      Pop Stage (Pop only): empty
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Lisa and Weird Al Pop if available at Pop

If you had most/all the premium characters, here’s one option you can do:
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Freddy, Shredder, Nick
Simpsons House (Rock only): Dr Hibbert, Apu
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Leon K, Rockstar Maggie
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto on Rock and Lisa or Bleeding Gums on Pop
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, and eventually baby Maggie and Pop Weird Al

      • I have most of the premium characters (except Rock Star Maggie) and it won’t let me use Lovejoy, Homer, Weird All at Kwik–E–Mart. Every time it seems to change too. I put Hibbert and Apu in Simpson’s house as per your list but I seem to remember last time I tried to get them all dispersed it wasn’t letting me put them in Kwik–E–Mart either.

        • KEM is randomly assigned as Rock or Pop. So KEM was probably Pop when it wouldn’t let you put Rock only characters Homer and Lovejoy (and Weird Al if you haven’t unlocked his Pop capabilities yet).

  7. How do you get that many lawyers? I’d love to drop more in my friends towns but I can’t seem to accumulate 40 or 100!

  8. If you have BGM (and Lisa, of course) consider they are multiprofessional. Since Moe’s and KEM change between rock and pop I put them both in a pop location. Main stages have Sungazer (with WAY, since he is not pop yet, Rick tumbling drum sticks in town) and Party Posse, Simpson’s House host Apu & Hibbert, school RSMaggie & Lou.
Homer & Lovejoy play in the rock location (Moe’s/KEM).
Alas, when both Moe’s and KEM become pop I have a problem as long as Al can’t play pop…

    • I do something very similar. If you have all available characters, you would only fall one or two short if both Moe’s and KEM are Pop, until you unlock Weird Al’s Pop capability and Maggie is released as a Pop character.

Here’s one option you can do:
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Freddy, Shredder, Nick
Simpsons House (Rock only): Dr Hibbert, Apu
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Leon K, Rockstar Maggie
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto on Rock and Lisa or Bleeding Gums on Pop
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, and eventually baby Maggie and Pop Weird Al

If you only have freemium players, here’s what I would do:

Scenario A – Moe’s and KEM (both Rock)
Moe’s and KEM (both Rock): Lisa, Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
      Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
      Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty

Scenario B – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al unlocked
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Pop Weird Al at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr Hibbert, Apu
      Simpsons House (Rock only): empty
Pop Stage (Pop only): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
      Springfield Elementary (Pop only): empty

Scenario C – Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop) if Pop Weird Al not available
Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Rev Lovejoy and Homer at Rock; Lisa and Bart at Pop
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rock Weird Al alone
Pop Stage (Pop only): Nelson alone
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Milhouse and Ralph

Scenario D – Moe’s and KEM (both Pop)
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Nelson
Rock Stage (Rock only): Peter, Nick, Dr. Hibbert, Apu
Simpsons House (Rock only): Rev Lovejoy, Homer
      Pop Stage (Pop only): empty
Springfield Elementary (Pop only): Lisa and Weird Al Pop if available at Pop

  9. One thing worth mentioning: The Weird Al tasks now also need double the whatchamacallits, 200 for each task. The people keep earning 4 every 4h, so the time to finish this for act 2 should be about twice as long as in act 1.

  10. I don’t know if the lawyers not being clicked by your friends still gives you sunglassess. When Act 2 started (almost 2 days ago) I droped 200+ lawyers and I have been monitoring my sunglassess income and I only get them from the tasks I do and I don’t get any extra from these unclicked lawyers.

    • Same for me , but it’s since the beginning….

    • I’m having a similar problem. On the first day of Act 2, I dropped about 120 lawyers all at once and ultimately got about 2,900 sunglasses for it. On day 2, I dropped 40+ lawyers all at once and haven’t seen any sunglasses whatsoever. Do you have to wait a full 24 hours for all dropped lawyers now? I didn’t drop any in Other Springfield, but it’s been just shy of 24 hours (about 20) since that second big drop. Also, I haven’t seen any new lawyers in my own town for nearly 12 hours, which seems odd given that I have maxed out my friends and they’re all normally very generous. Is there a glitch going on??

      • Well, I started getting lawyers to appear in my own town again, but I’m still not getting credit for any I give to my neighbors. There’s no way I dropped over 40 lawyers spread out over about 20 neighbors and not a single one of them was clicked.

  11. Anyone know why my performer choices keep changing? For instsnce I’ve been playing with the pip stage all day, but I just had Dr. Hibbert performing at Moes. I ended his jam session, went to put him right back on there but he wasn’t available ,

    • Cards got screwed up home plate ump in Boston. Hope he gets fired for calling timeout on his own.

      • Cards got screwed by having “closer by committee”. Their pitching blew the game. If their “closer” had thrown the ball in under 45 seconds no time would have been called. Go Sox!

        • The only person that violated the rules was the home plate umpire. He stated that he needed a break. Neither the catcher or the batter called time out. That umpire is no longer on any major league umpiring crew.

    • I have that problem as well. Apparently Moes and KEM switch between being pop and rock, but I have no idea how to tell when they’re switched!

      • You can’t predict which one it will switch to, as it’s random. However, when it’s time to Jam, at the bottom of that black pop-up of the event hub, it will say whether it’s a Rock session or Pop session. And it will show you how many performers from that genre you have available.

        • Ah, thanks! I’ve noticed that it will only show me certain characters but didn’t know why it was happening.

  12. Speaking of Math…I just pulled the Dead Lobster restaurant out of storage and it now has a 2.5% bonus as well as pulling in cash…did I miss this before, or is it new?

  13. We saw Weird Al in concert, and he was a lot of fun. He is a great entertainer, totally worth checking him out at least once.

  14. This one is easy, I didn’t even Olay yesterday morning, missed another 4hr opportunity, didn’t do my friends, and still got the pop stage this morning at 1 am lol.

The reason it’s higher is because the actors get more glasses due to the higher stars, the fans are doubled, the friends are doubled, you get daily bonuses, and the lawyers.

Last Act, I never went to my friends to click on fans, just to dump lawyers. Still I finished a week ahead.

  15. Well I’m on a decent run. Making around a maximum of 5600 Glasses 4 times a day from Jam sessions. 300 from Friend actions, between 1000 – 1500 Glasses from the daily challenges, so I’m nearly there. But as it continues it will continue to rise.

  16. I’d like to leave one tip here: You DON’T have to wait the full four hours to clear the jam sessions. The last 20-25 minutes you can just click on the stage and click FREE to speed up the event. Also, every 8 hours, I seem to be getting 10 lawyers. So once I get them, I drop them. I don’t know how, but I’m already over 17,000 and I’ve only logged in 6 times total for Act 2 (4 times on 8/15, 2 times so far on 8/16). I don’t have any premium characters. For me, the minimum I have to log in (so far it seems) is 4x per day. I am working on an excel spreadsheet (which has helped me multiple times before) and I’d be happy to share it (screenshot or otherwise) with those that are having trouble to see how everything adds up.
