Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add New Bedlam Rest Home and Leon Kompowsky to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this king of pop to your town…

Pros
-It’s Leon, aka MJ, who can forget this classic episode? (“Lisa it’s your birthday..”)
-Starts off with a 3.5 star rating, highest so far for premium
-Will use New Bedlam Rest Home for 2 tasks (and New Bedlam is animated when in use, Lights turn on and off)
Cons
-Not voiced (but not surprised on this one…)
-Pricey for a character/building combo (although cheaper than BGM)
-Animated tasks are ok, but not as great as they could be.
Final Thought
Premium:
It doesn’t really matter what I say here, most of you that are premium players already picked Leon up, simply because it’s Leon. Classic character from a classic episode, and outside of BGM it’s a character I recall a lot of you asking about. I get it. That’s why your a premium player. To jump on the characters you want. And truth be told, I got him too.
Freemium:
Leon is not necessary to successfully complete this event, but he’s a nice to have. (and not an awful buy) Unlike BGM, he’s only here until Act 2 ends (Aug 29th)…BGM is here until the event ends. Leon is less expensive than BGM, but he’s only good for Pop Venues. I’d weigh your options between BGM and Leon, and see who you like more. Or pass on both and save your donuts for something down the road.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I picked him up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games for good (or for now).

Will Leon no longer be available in TSTO since his lone TV episode is being pulled from circulation? I noticed he was not available in the Yearbook Mystery Box.
Several characters aren’t in the box
Quick question, it may have been covered somewhere but I can’t find it. When KEM farming, is it better to go for more premium characters, like Leon here, or bonus % items. My math, which is terrible at best, comes up about sixes.
You need a combination of both. Bonus % is highly dependent on having income sources to begin with, so make sure you have a lot of buildings that’s generating money for you. If you play frequently, then investing in premium characters works better than having more buildings.
What I would say however is, get the Beach Hideaways that’s part of the Springfield Heights if you don’t already have all 5. At 20% bonus when fully upgraded for 40 donuts, and a limit of 5, they’re the best bang for the buck in the game for % items. 100% bonus in total is nothing to laugh about. And if you have the patience and space to complete the entire Springfield Heights grind, putting out all the buildings also give you 150% bonus XP. Which again, goes a long way to KEM farming with the XP Collider.

I just about had enough donuts for BGM and along comes Leon…BGM on hold for now! I love this episode and my younger sister’s name is Lisa. I have sung Leon’s birthday song to her every year.
I was even holding off getting BGM, so I could get “MJ” first. So happy he is in the game. This is a really fun event!
Too bad my phone broke at the beginning of the week, I am using Bluestacks in the mornings and evenings, but I am missing two tapping rounds at work. So let’s see about the final prize for this act…

How do you all have too many venues? I have no performers at two of my venues because it seems like at least three of them only want kids, and I have the boys on my pop stage. That leaves only Lisa. I need more venues for the adults. I don’t get this change by EA…if that’s the case, give me more of my kids to perform!
And I don’t know about you but it strikes me as inappropriate for the kids (and only the kids) to be performing at Moe’s!
If you have all available characters, you would only fall one or two short if both Moe’s and KEM are Pop, until you unlock Weird Al’s Pop capability and Maggie is released as a Pop character.
Here’s one option you can do:

Moe’s and KEM (one Rock & one Pop): Weird Al, Rev Lovejoy, Homer, or Rockin’ Otto on Rock and Lisa or Bleeding Gums on Pop
Moe’s and KEM (both Pop): Lisa, Bleeding Gums, and eventually baby Maggie and Pop Weird Al
If you only have freemium players, you will have empty venues. Here’s what I would do:

Is there a six (or less) word rule/strategy that explains your scenarios ? Like…. “fill stages before other venues”
is it better to leave one venue empty, and fill the bonus slot on another? Or better to have at least one performer at each venue?
I think a lot of players will be the same as me,….had too many performers at the end of act 1 ….now I could do with a couple more but there’s no characters available at the minute

Depends on how many of the premium characters you have who can help with this event. I have all of them, which gives me 13 characters who could do rock, but only a maximum possible 10 slots in which they can jam.

I have read complaints elsewhere that he does not moonwalk. This, to me, is a major factor in the cons category.

A classic character, so I had to get him! Now time to start saving donuts for the BGM combo (still doable, I think).
I swore it said that it would give you another venue if y ou purchase him. I guess not though. Oh well, still got him. I wasn’t going to pass it up.

I got them intstantly but i too thought it was another venue i got too many ppl not enough venues/ spots and needing all characters to be same star rating (ocd at its finest) im hoping other slots become available so i can utelise all my characters 🙂
First two prizes of Part Two are new venues (Pop stage and then getting the land token opens up another – the school, I think).

I got him instantly too. My problem is, every time I see him, I start singing “Lisa it’s your birthday.”

Actually when I hear his voice as I read the dialogue for the speaking parts, in my head I hear his “real voice” revealed at the end of the episode.

I want this, but I was trying to earn 150 for BGM. Ohhh this is going to be tempting because now i’m leaning towards this.
And the task book continues to fill up with questline for all of the new characters, who are too busy performing to get through them… (Actually, I did get to do some for a couple of the lower-level rockers, like the drummer, because I had more chapters than I needed to fill up the venues. But anyone with a high rating or are multi-purpose aren’t doing anything but performing during this event….at least so far…
But, yes, got Leon pretty quickly…looking forward to having him “sing” to Lisa, when they’re not so busy! 🙂

frustrating that i can’t fill all my rock spots up. I have plenty of players but still can’t fill every spot without buying this dude. I already have BGM so this dude won’t make my character payroll.
Did you unlock Nick, Peter, and Weird Al?
That should give you those 3, plus Homer, Lisa, Apu, Dr. Hibbert, Rev. Lovejoy. That should cover 8 of the max 10 Rock slots. To get the extra 2, yes you’d need Bleeding Gums, Freddy & Shreder, and/or Rockin Otto.
Bought him, of course. Continue to be disappointed and upset at the lack of moonwalking. 😡

Anyone who’s got BGM …When you get round to doing his questline, he has to do something with the Simpsons…. don’t forget Amber Simpson and Grandpa Simpson can be used to keep your other Simpsons free.

No permanent task perhaps, but his questline does have a “make Leon K. sing a birthday song” task, that Lisa provides dialogue for before the task appears….. I’m just waiting to free him up from a stage to complete the task!

If I recall correctly there was a reason michael jackson couldn’t appear as himself but yes certainly a classic episode. Picked him up. His resemblance to Barney is uncanny. Seperated at birth?
