Addicts Bracket Challenge: Most Desired Building, Week 9

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there are plenty of buildings in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Building Bracket Battle.

Like last year, with your help, we created a Bracket of 64 beloved buildings we believe would bring a smile to your face, have great tasks, could make for an awesome event, or simply be a nice idea for a new Friends Point prize. Unlike last year though, you had a huge say in what buildings made the cut.

We pre-selected 96 buildings organized into eight thematic conferences. We had chosen four to get automatic entries into the Bracket. However, your votes in the pre-Bracket polls selected which four buildings would join them in each conference. Those 64 buildings would then battle each other in six rounds of head-to-head matchups, that we hope produces the most debate in the comments below.

With the Bracket determined, every Friday over summer, we’ll post that week’s matchups and your votes will determine which buildings advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Most Desired Building” on Friday September 1st.

For general housekeeping rules and guidelines, please click on the link to the first pre-Bracket poll.

Here’s a recap of the results from our four Round 4 Quarter-Final matchups that determined the Semi-Finalists:

Houses/Mansions #3 seed Troy McClure’s House (73% – 911 votes) defeated Apartments/Hotels #1 Moe’s Apartment (27% – 344 votes)

Academic/Museums #1 Springfield University (64% – 799 votes) defeated Attractions/Landmarks #6 Mt. Splashmore (36% – 451 votes)

Restaurants #2 The Pretzel Wagon (59% – 733 votes) defeated Bars/Clubs #3 CBGB (41% – 509 votes)

and lastly

Springfield Mall’s #1 I Can’t Believe It’s A Law Firm (51% – 636 votes) barely Businesses/Factories #3 Box Factory (49% – 613 votes) by 23 votes

Here’s a look at the updated Bracket:

Now without further ado, we present the two Round 5 Semi-Final matchups:

Reminder, voting is open until noon EDT Thursday August 24.

What are your thoughts on last weeks results? Any surprises? How’s your Bracket pick’em looking? What are your thoughts on this weeks two Round 5 matchups? Of the two matchups above, which was the easiest decision and which was the hardest? Which Addict did you agree with most? Which Addict doesn’t think like you at all? Correct answers are worth 20 points in the Bracket pick’em contest. Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you.

  1. Dammit, I was rooting for you Box Factory.

  2. Pretzel-Wagon !
and Marge’s car with the Pretzel-Wagon skin

    🇬🇧😁

    • Only if they can go on the roads.

      • I would like to see cars driving about on the roads, but you just know it would slow the game down …but the odd animated one (like the road sweeper) and the rest should be placeable on roads…..

Marge’s car with the Pretzel Wagon skin could drive about and stop so Marge could get out and sell pretzels, then fleet-a-pita trucks could turn up, …also the part where all of Cletus’ children came out because he had the free coupons would be a good animation

        🇬🇧😃

  3. University and pretzel wagon I suppose.
I can’t believe the law firm took out the box factory.
It’s a messed up world at times

    • I’m not surprised – I think many are thinking it would be great to have I Can’t Believe It’s A Law Firm because then, theoretically, it could include the worst lawyer ever, Lionel Hutz!
Or at least remind us of fond memories of him.

  4. I wouldn’t mind a Hartman Bowl

  5. Hmm.. bring on the debate folks.. my vote is undecided.. wishing I would have lobbied harder for the box factory.. such a classic episode/building..not sure why i identify with the lame field trip so much as mostly i feel lucky to have been on so many great trips as part of my public education.. but it really cracks me up… i feel your pain bart! i also give little regard to ‘sensible’ town design in my own springfield (however i do appreciate, admire &enjoy the beautifully designed towns of some of my fabulous neighbors) once i saw the box factory in the battle here it seemed preposterous to me to have a slide factory in my town & no box factory! i was hoping box factory for the win, EA to give it to me, then Wookie to remind me in wdtcf post why i love it so much! anyway… as i saw Safi remind someone in previous post we are voting for the building… not the character. . i am still undecided.. so will watch the debate unfold here before i vote! my next choice would have been mt splashmore cuz it’s fun. as for the remaining choices.. i feel like i have too many mansions in my town already… although this one does have unique design i don’t really care for it. marge doesn’t need the pressure of a pretzel franchise in my town! and she doesn’t need to compete w/fleeta pita either cuz i still don’t have Luann- the only person who gets to boss around Kirk in MY springfield is me! Lutz is prob my most desired character… but without him the building is just a sad reminder that we don’t have him and from what i understand that is unlikely to change. so.. i guess i am leaning towards the university so Homer can keep working on his education.

    • oops y’all know I meant Hutz but here is my correction anyway 🙂
and while I’m making corrections i should check myself and thank you guys for creating the bracket challenge- it has been really fun to follow!

  6. So the final will be McClure house vs Springfield U.

    Rough…

    • So you think whoever wins this first Semi will beat either second Semi-Finalist?
Because the first Semi is McClure House vs Springfield Univ, so not sure how that would be the final.

  7. If it was possible to make the law firm part of the mall, I would have gone for it…as a stand alone building, I don’t see it. (Of course it really doesn’t matter, cuz it can’t beat Springfield University).

  8. Springfield University FTW!

  9. Pretzel Wagon made it so far, but now it’s time for the almost ultimate battle against Lionel Hutz’s law firm. I believe in you, pretzels! Love Lionel, but we need a new decorative food stand rather than another building… that’s just me. 😆

(On a related note, I’m ecstatic about the Devil Donuts cart FINALLY coming back after years of absence; I started tapping just as they went back in the vault…)

On a completely unrelated note, I think there should be a pretzel emoji. 🤔🤤

    • Sorry but what is the devil doughnuts cart? I’ve never heard of it.
      Thx.

      • If you go to your Store, under Homerpalooza you’ll see the Devil Donuts Cart for $5,200 in-game cash. It’s just a fun decoration to have in your town.

        • Oh, right on yes I’ve already picked it up didn’t notice the name. I like it but as a trailer it irritated me that it turns the wrong way! I can’t connect it to any cars, bikes or anything mobile. Little details like that I wish E.A would pay more attention to. But thank-you for taking the time to write back oh and congrats buddy on making the team.👍

  10. This week I went for Springfield University and the Pretzel Wagon so Patric gets 2 points and Safi 1 point.
    The total so far is:
    Patric 49
    Wookie 40
    Alissa 40
    Safi 37

  11. I cannot believe after all this time that I’m still so affected by the loss of Phil Hartmann but I guess he offered a mix of humor and warmth that was unparalleled. Maybe it’s true across the board with Simpsons’ voice actors but they tend to resonate deeper over time. McClure vs. Hutz in the finals is going to rip my heart in two.

  12. I’m expecting a Phil Hartman building to win this one.
