BeatBox Your Way to Act 3! Homepalooza Act 3 is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

“Yo! Hey, what’s happening dude?  I’m the guy with the rep for being rude.  Terrorizing people wherever I go, It’s not intentional just keepin’ the flow.”

Come on guys, let’s all Do the Bartman! (not to be confused with Steve Bartman, who’s now the proud owner of a Cubbies WS ring. Mr. Bartman, if by chance you read this site, I never thought you cursed them.  They just played like C-R-A-P)

Gooooood mooooorning Tappers!  Welcome to the wee early morning hours, who’s ready to get their hip hop on?  Grab those hoodies & practice your Mic Drops, because it’s time for Homerpalooza to go Hip Hop, as Act 3 is arrives into our Springfields this morning…

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Lisa will start this for you with dialogue.  This will be followed by needing to keep your Rock and Pop characters jamming because you’re going to need that prize track currency.

Act 3 “Hip Hop” Runs until September 12th
Note: the whole event ends Sept. 12th

Just what does Act 3 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…

New Prize Currency for Act 3

Bling

So the ability to earn Sunglasses is now gone.  Your counter prize track for Act 3 has reset to zero because you have zero Bling.  So forget about those shades…time to get a little bling bling, and collect that bling!

You’ll earn Bling very similar to how you earned Sunglasses (and cuffs during Act 1) during Act 2….

-Clearing the fan tappables (they now earn 30 /tap)
– Clearing fans in your Neighbor’s towns (now earns 15/tap)
-Dropping Lawyers in Neighbor’s towns, or clearing Lawyers they dropped in your town
-Jam Sessions
-Weird Al Prize track
-Daily Challenges

You’ll also earn Bling from the questline…don’t ignore the questline.  You earn a ton of Event currency from it, it’s important for your prize track total..

New Details About Fans (Tappables) in Act 3

For Act 3 Fans now drop MORE currency than they did in Act 2.  Each Fan you clear in YOUR OWN town will drop 30  , with a chance for 8 and a lawyer to drop.

Fans you tap in YOUR NEIGHBOR’S TOWN will drop 15 , with a chance for  8 and a lawyer to drop.

This is an increase from Act 2. (and Act 1, so don’t get discouraged by the prize totals)

Weird Al

Weird Al Prize track is still there, this time you can earn Extra Bling and Crafting Currency.  The final prize unlocks the ability for Weird Al to play on the hip hop stage.  Otherwise same rules apply…

Hip Hop Track unlocks with main questline (at least it did for me in my B game)

Update: Ok, some of you are confused or just impatient with this and want more clarification.. once you’ve COMPLETED Pt. 1 of the main questline (Straight Outta Dumbton) you’ll see the Weird Al Tasks popup.
Everyone got it?  Good.

Act 3 Personal Prizes

Hip Hop Stage 14,600

Land Token/New Venue for Jams- 33,600

All Sales Vinyl- 56,900

Rappin’ Bart- 83,200

600 Tickets- 109,500

Cletus’ Monster Truck & Manager Cletus- 146,000

Again, don’t be discouraged by the total  required for each prize.  You’ll be earning MORE  for doing the same things you did in Act 2.  So just plug along, you’ll get there.

Also, these numbers are LOWER than what was initially proposed for Act 3…

Act 2 Prizes…

If you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “ACT  2” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright buy each one left at the point you left off at. (Just like every other event recently.)

Crafting

Crafting remains, as it was during Acts 1 and 2, for Act 3.

Ticket Crafting Currency is earned via the prize track, Weird Al Prizes, Tappables, Lawyers, Praiseland (if you purchased it) & Flaming Moe’s (if you purchased it)

Bonuts

You’ll once again be able to earn Bonuts (Bonus Donuts) during the questline, instead of when you finish the prize track.  Similar to how it worked in Acts 1 and 2.  Should unlock once you’ve finished the Act 3 questline.

Now you’ll need to earn 15,000  to earn the Bonuts.

New Items in the Store…

Alcatraaaz’s Mansion & Alcatraaaz- 150 Donuts

Blasting Bass- 45 Donuts, Earns 2% on all cash and XP

Returning

Jay G Bundle- Jay G (Full Character), his Mansion, Pool & Gossius (NPC)-225 Donuts, 75 Donut Rebate, NET 150 Donuts. (good buy for all you guy)

  1. My father in law, who is left handed, commented to me that Homer sometimes plays the guitar left handed. I never really looked.. but now that he mentioned it, I see it too. Only my father in law would make this connection.. LMAO! Just hand to share…

  2. I wonder if Jay G bundle will return later in the act. It’s just shy of 4 days left before it goes from the store. I don’t have 225 to buy it, I wanted to know if I can buy him when everything returns to the store later (closer to the end of the event). It’s a great deal and I wanted to buy it, shame if it doesn’t return. 🙁

      • i thought maybe experienced players will answer with high probability. No hard feelings if the prediction will not be true.
Myself i am 90% sure that in 3 days this compo will go for good (or at least a long while). Because the rest from all acts will reappear, and this combo disappeared too recently to re-appear. IMO.
I just wanted to hear other opinions. EA doesn’t disclose things like that. Thanks anyway.

  3. Anyone know of the festival fence is a permanent addition (it doesn’t have a limited timer on…) or do I have to buy loads now and store if I want to be able to use them in the future? Thanks!

  4. Hi everyone
can you guys tell me, if Jay G will perfome on the hiphop stage. I contemplating buying him and that would be a nice bonus.

    Thx and cheers!

  5. I was hoping the ‘more bling’ from weird al was an upgraded bling cup from the crafting menu…but isn’t..

    Booo

  6. Maybe I missed it in another thread, but one time I was able to have all the stage equipment, lights fog machines and flaming rock and roll cart activated (going constantly instead of tapping each to run for a bit). Has anyone else done this too? I’m wondering if I put Maggie in the hyperstadium and fill out the rest of the stages to get it to work? I can’t remember what I did to do it.

    • Nothing you can do really, it seems to be a random occurrence – sometimes everything in a certain area just activates. I don’t think anyone has found out yet why this happens, or how you can force it.

  7. Will there be ANY new items to craft for Act 3? Or is that it? I was hoping new items would show up locked. I’m a bit disappointed. 🙁 thank you so much Alissa for all the info you guys provide here… and the comic relief… by bloggers and all the commenters. I love all you guys!

  8. Act 3 is underwhelming, as usual. I’m probably just going to stop at the 2nd prize, and call it good. Costumes don’t appeal to me. I am kind of glad it is underwhelming because then I can stop playing quite so much, which I need to do. My wife and I are starting the process to become foster parents, which takes a lot of time because of classes, licensing, and paper work. Once we do that, we can be foster parents, so much of my free time will go to being a parent. I think I’ll take that trade off.

    • Congratulations on working towards being a foster parent. It can be tough work at times, but oh so valuable. I work as a Mental Health Therapist in schools, and there are quite a few foster parents who do wonders for the kids they parent. Again, congratulations and good luck!

  9. WEIRD AL’S PRIZE TRACK UNLOCKS THROUGH THE MAIN QUESTLINE! 😂 Relax. It is locked for everyone else initially, too.

  10. Weird Al prize track unlocks after the Hip Hop stage is built – a lot like it did in Act 1 and Act 2 – in fact exactly like it did then. Just to save Alissa getting RSI from Copy & Paste

  11. Relax, it was just a misunderstanding. I thought “unlocks with the main questline” meant it would unlock as soon as the main questline unlocked, which wasn’t the case, so I thought it was bugged for me (and everyone else posting here).

    • I deleted it…sorry. By the time you get to the 10 millionth question about something you get slightly annoyed. (ok more than slightly) My apologies that you happened to be that “lucky” comment…

  12. Thanks for remembering all the facts about Steve Bartman. I can’t imagine the hate storm the poor man would get if it happened with 2017 style social media. I’m a Cardinals fan living in Illinois, but mostly a baseball fan.

I like the way hip hop is slowly unfurling. A few hours of monorail work is welcome before the Weird Al grind begins.

Your post about the quest line tie to Weird Al confirmed what I had already out. Now I don’t need to fret about missing something to start the Weird Al hip hop ability.

Thanks for your patience and diligence. I love that event calendar, patiently waiting for it.

  13. Maybe it would be good to clarify what “Unlocks with the main questline” actually means. If you mean Lisa starting the dialogue and the new quest “Straight out of Dumbton Pt. 1” appearing in the quest list, at least for me that didn’t unlock Weird Al’s Hip Hop track. I also have sent Lisa to a new jamming session twice since act 3 unlocked, so it can’t be Lisa blocking it either.

    • Ah, I think I get it now. What’s probably meant is “unlocks within the main quest line”. Not a native speaker, sorry.

  14. i’m so happy to finally start working on the act 3 prizes. i still have only 1 venue with only 1 player after getting alaska nebraska and pop al. can you help me maximize my venues again? it’s .. still .. very .. weird for me with the new “hip hop” added. i now have pop al and alaska. thank you, it’s very much appreciated.

  15. Thanks for the updates Alissa.

I’m glad you have Safi to help back you up with the repeated questions about things that are already in your posts. I can’t believe just how many times you have to tell people the same thing over and over and over………

    In case anyone missed it

The Weird Al questline WILL unlock as you progress through the third act questline

  16. So in the prize track, there are two buildings: the vinyl store and the stage, two outfits: one for Bart (another Bart outfit) and one for Cletus (yay! He finally has his first outfit) and a decoration: the monster truck (unsure what to do with it yet); along with a free land token, new venue and some tickets for crafting. I see the Jay G Bundle is 1/3 off from its original price. Considering the pool’s bonus, it probably cost 45 donuts on its own in terms of its bonus (40 donuts for 2%, while the pool is 2.25% so an extra 5 donuts) so there is 105 donuts left for Jay G, his mansion and Goosius together and dividing it between the last 3 would be 35 donuts each. So the Jay G bundle looks like the better choice with the rebate in terms of what is offered (4 items) instead of Alcatraaaz (2 items?) since both are the same price. It could be useful to complete the weekly rail yard as soon as possible first and then work on the weird Al prizes because most of the characters are rail yard workers.

  17. MaidenOfTorments

I recommend you add that Weird Al’s quest will unlock in the main quest line so you’re not constantly repeating yourself.

    • It is there…

    • Thanks for the post! Apologies for being a wet blanket on Weird Al , but in my opinion, there are three tidbits of information about Weird Al in the main body of the post:
      1. “Weird Al Prize track is still there …”
      2. “The final prize unlocks the ability for Weird Al to play on the hip hop stage.”
      3. “Otherwise same rules apply…”

and I just noticed at the end of Weird Al’s section:
“Hip Hop Track unlocks with main questline (at least it did for me in my B game)” I’m guessing the image of the Weird Al currency was supposed to indicate that “Hip Hop Track” is perhaps the name of Weird Al’s mini rewards tasks.

It seems to be there is a distinction between Weird Al’s “jamming task/quest” and the “Weird Al series of tasks (quests) to get items”. Either way, I don’t have either of these at the moment but it sounds like they’ll unlock eventually

  18. I’m actually kind of pleased the Weird Al track will take some time to open. I should be able to finish off this week’s Rail yard before all my Plastic gatherers need to go work for Al.

  19. Off to wait for my sweeties dr. Appointment, maybe I missed it, but
Jam Payouts have increased. And in ~90 minutes I’ll have the Hip Hop stage.

  20. Weird Al section not available yet. Also you may have noticed the daily challenge amounts are still as they were in Act 1, so not really contributing as much to achieve the increased total. The questline amounts are really not worth bothering about, assuming they have not changed in this 3rd Act.
Apart from that it’s going to be the usual 4 hour grind.

  21. The Weird Al Prize track didn’t trigger for me in Act3. Still telling me I have to wait… Anyone else having this problem?

  22. Any trick to getting wired am hip hop to start no one is on a job and no new quest, when I click on the tab in the quest page it says I have to wait
