Should I Spend Donuts on Gold Records on Walls Studio?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on and your cell phones ready to light up the night because Homerpalooza has arrived in Springfield!  That’s right the rock fest has begun!  Our stores are now jam-packed with premium items just tempting us to drop our sprinkles on!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Gold Records on Walls Studio to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this studio to your town…

Building/Decoration: Gold Records on Walls Studio
Donut Cost: 70 Donuts
Size: 6×8
Earns: $135,15xp/4hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10

Leaves stores September 12th

Pros
-Comes with a questline (1 part)
-4hr task for Krusty there (Audition for Voiceover Work, $260, 70xp)
-Animated when in use, 3 windows light up.  Silhouettes of someone playing music

Cons
-On the pricey side for a stand alone building
-very plain design, adds no pop to Springfield. (I realize that’s not EA’s fault it’s how Gracie Films designed it in the episode)

Final Thought
Premium:
Meh.  I think there are better buildings to get for your donuts.  It’s just very plain, the animation is spectacular & how many 4hr tasks does Krusty need?  I’d pass.

Freemium:
Personally, I think Freemium players should pass.  You’re better off saving your freemium donuts for characters.  Pass on this one for now.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll be passing.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline it comes with…

Golden Parachute
Krusty starts

Krusty: Aww, monkey butts!  It’s contract renewal time again.  I better figure out a fallback in case the studio notices I’m spending all my production budget on booze.  I need a gig where I can show up wearing nothing but clown shoes and a vomit-stained T-shirt.
Make Krusty Audition for Voiceover Work- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp

What are your thoughts on Gold Records on the Walls Studio?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed itin Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Gold Records on Walls Studio (lol at that Building name!) – yeah this should’ve been a Premium Prize Building (this would’ve been years ago – right?) … I saw the Building Animated in a Neighboreenos Springfield (it looks cool!) but why give Krusty another 4 Hour Task here? Why not a 6 Hour (or 3 Hour)? I know, EA can’t please everyone!😅

  2. Would be nice if we could re-name it to the ‘Box Factory’ 🙂

  3. I wish E.A would show it in a example town just so we could see how tall it is or the color, things like that. But that’s usually why I wait till the posting comes out to get that info. Thanks for the post.

    • That’s actually one of the reasons I love having a bunch of very active neighbors….there’s always at least one, and often several who already have it, which is the best way to really see what something looks like or how it works.

  4. @IndianaUnderwood

Would buy if it was cheaper! I am building a beatnik music hideaway in my Springfield and this would go well.

  5. I got it, but it’s hard finding buildings it works well with…we need a few more multi-story office buildings that are in the same scale…. I’d love to have a business district in Springfield (in addition to the one I have in Springfield Heights).

  6. I like these non descript buildings. They blend in well with the parts of town that don’t look like a theme park.

  7. I actually have a city block design using orphan alley and a few other buildings (like Costington’s). This fits in perfectly. Haha I guess there’s always “that guy.”

  8. Will get it defintely jus tnot this time

  9. Super boring. They should have just made it a prize instead of giving us more tickets which are completely unneeded at this point.

  10. It’s an expensive but money making building with a fairly small footprint and a shape that can easily be blended in with other stuff for design…..although creativity to hide the name on the top could be difficult…
