Well, the major event (Homerpalooza) is over, but that doesn’t prevent EA making us get up before the crack of dawn (at least here in the US)…so much for sleep. But, who can sleep anyway? The County Fair has arrived in our pocket-sized Springfields!
Mini Event Ends September 26th…
Remember, this mini event is an automatic in-game update. HOWEVER, yesterday an app store update hit to remove Homerpalooza. You MUST download the App Store update, to remove Homerpalooza, before you’ll see the new county fair content.
But it is still super early in the morning here…so I’ll fill in this post when I’m a bit more awake later this morning. But for now…Homer and Flanders get things started with a 6s task each. Once completed that will trigger the mini event track.
Tasks for the mini event are 3hrs long and you’ll need to collect ribbons to earn the prizes (as well as other tasks).
This event is premium heavy, so be prepared to spend those donuts.
Mary Spuckler and Amber Dempsey are available for 150 donuts each.

And now for more details…finally. I’ve played through the whole mini event, got it all worked out. So here’s the deal…
Same situation as always, work through questlines, collect an item to unlock the mini prize track. Nice and simple (I’ll have a questline post up in a little while)…
Here are the prizes and the order in which you unlock them…
Prizes are unlocked via the Pride and Pageantry questline…
Fair Pavilion- 150 
Little Miss Springfield Lisa Costume- 350
County Fair Sign and World’s Biggest Ribbon- 350 (Not going to lie…PERFECT opportunity for them to add the World’s Largest Toilet and they blew it…)
Little Miss Springfield Lisa Protest Animation- 350
Cheddarbarrel Farm- 350
Once you’ve completed the prize track and built the farm you’ll unlock the ability to make Corn Fields, Wheat Fields and Plowed Fields (they’ll work like Squidport tiles (and other items) pay money to create them and then wait for them to be ready)…
Now onto the stuff in the store…and there’s A LOT of premium content in the store tied to this event….

Ye Olde Off-Ramp Inn w/ Amber Dempsey- 150 Donuts, Amber earns Ribbons. Inn earns $135, 15xp/4hrs. (Side note…another one of Safi’s Bracket Battle Buildings makes it into the game…)
Turn Your Head and Coif- 60 donuts. Earns $135,15xp/4hrs
The Paralyzer- 50 Donuts. Earns 2.25% Bonus on all cash and XP
Cheddarbarrel Combine- 45 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and XP

Personally, I’m a fan of this one. I think it’s the perfect event for this time of the year, think of all the cool corn mazes you can make before Halloween starts! I know some of you are grumbling that you “wanted a break”…guys THIS IS YOUR BREAK. These mini events are quick and easy to do. They last 2 weeks and should take you less than 1 to finish. So just because there’s new content in the game, doesn’t mean you can’t slow down or take a break from the game. So, relax. Take it slow and enjoy the content. You don’t have to speed through it, you can take your time. Login once or twice a day. Design your Springfields. Enjoy the downtime.

Ugh…I’ve been longing for that toilet since the summer of 2013…my poor bladder. Curse you EA! Just give me the dang Toilet!

All this talk of giant toilets has me chuckling. The local water utility here has a mascot that shows up at all the baseball games…a running toilet…literally, a guy in a white toilet suit, running the bases. It’s supposed to remind people how much water is wasted by leaking toilets, but mostly we all just get a good laugh 😂.

I agree about the break thing. Usually I finish big events with like 5 days to kick back and grab a few bonuts. And these mini events are so quick and easy I forget about them before they’re over. I’ve gotten a ton of designing done in the last few days. Still haven’t touched my stuff from the last event but plenty of time before Halloween hits. Granted my new design relies heavily on Halloween coming with a strip of land opposite the ocean…
My sister in law’s game updated but the event hasn’t started for her. Homerpalooza has been removed but the county fair event didn’t start. anyone know how to fix it or why it’s happening?
Make sure she has all of her primary characters free…
I ran into a problem with updating also…I closed my pad, restarted, then went to the app store a second time and it still asked me to “update”…it worked the second time, and the event started.
This update does looks promising, I hope the sign and the ribbon are two separate items, maybe with the next update EA could add the World’s Largest Toilet as a roads to riches prize. I got all the returning items from previous updates so I could make a little area with the barn, tractor, farmers market and the farm house along with the prizes and the monster truck from the Homerpalooza event.
Ugg. The update removed the items that were in my Vault (all four of which I was saving up for) and replaced them with worthless items that I’m not interested in.
Man…did EA cut back on staff for this game? They’ve had quite a few errors like this lately.
I’m enjoying the mini events more and more. The content is great and they don’t last 40 plus days

I finally have a place for my freak show, slide factory, and pumpkin patches. Might find a way to incorporate ren fair with my castles too. Alissa and the rest of the staff. Thank you for your hard work. People comment on wanting a break about simply tapping and you guys are working hard tapping and writing about the content. Thank you.
Instantly bought Mary been waiting for her for ages. The building she comes with is alright and I’d definitely recommend you to buy if you like Mary as much as I do 😂😂
What would really be awesome is if you had the option of different skins for your corn after you build it, like the crosswalks, so you could make a cool looking corn maze. Have the four corners be static and then allow straight line through, turn right/left, three way or cross design. I can imagine what fun everyone would have designing those and looking at what others did with theirs. 🙂
Loving this mini-event, some cool content and some great design possibilities. Seems perfect for the start of Autumn and definitely makes me want to take my tablet to a deck Rocking Chair and chew on some wheat stems 😂.

I have the same character/ building mismatch problem. I have the donuts but haven’t yet decided if I want to splurge on both with Halloween around the corner.
Apparently since this update the least number of donuts the store is now selling is 900 at a cost of almost £50 English pounds – ridiculous!
I just want to buy a few so as to afford the Sleep-Eazy Motel.
Alas I must’ve just hit a glitch or something because the various options to buy donut currency in the store have now been restored.

When you tap the Paralyzer, it shoots one of the cars off into your town and first causes a fire at Springfield Elementary and with subsequent taps it explodes the Quick and Fresh, the Brown House and then the Kwik-e-Mart (kinda like the Swat Tank)…good fun!💥

Don’t like that fact that you have to wait to earn the Fields. Is there a limit to how many you can “build” for each one like with the Squidport tiles?
I have so many of the Cane Fields and Pumpkin Patches from playing the Insanity Cauldron. Now I have a place to put most of them. They will fit in well with this new decor in the game. Now I just need to figure out where to put the Fair items. My town is pretty much maxed out. Would have been nice to have at least one strip of new land with this mini event.
I have not checked the files for it that deeply yet, but i’ll find out.
Miss Springfield (the adult version) is tempting, but (1) 175 is still expensive, (2) she’ll probably show up with the discount again in The Vault, and (3) I’m low enough on donuts that I can only afford one new character purchase.
Amber Whatshername isn’t much of a temptation.
Mary Spuckler, though… I’ll probably get her. Bart love interest, appeared in multiple episodes, given an actual character instead of just being a background or generic character.

I’m really liking this update. I’ve got a perfect area to build a State Fair Grounds. Maybe it is because the Utah State Fair is going on right now, but either way, I’m excited to create a nice fair grounds.
I’m headed there this weekend…perhaps I can pick up a few ‘decorating ideas’.
I like the mini events! Everyone except me seems to be saving up for Halloween. I think I’m the only one who is not a fan of the Halloween events.

It’s not unexpected…they’ve unlocked so many ways for players to get free donuts that it’s really watered down the currency. So it’s really not surprising that nothing is free…except the prizes of course

It still seems like we’re getting a decent amount of stuff for free imo. A couple buildings, decorations, and new ability to grow crops? As a freemium player I’m actually pretty impressed.
I just started this mini event, but I like it so far. Still finishing up the questlines from the last event though. Since I’m a freemium player, I’m tempted to pick up the sleep easy motel because of the rebate. However I’m also thinking Black Friday is getting closer and if I spend all my donuts now, I might not have enough to spend on, hopefully, other characters I want more. That is, if the characters I want will will be offered with a rebate on Black Friday….

I just got a few on my B game…the A one has been lacking, but I assume that’s due to the event and getting event currency instead. No worries.

I grabbed the devil float from my vault but it’s killing me not to grab the Springfield sign too. I’ve wanted that forever but can’t spare the donuts with the holiday events right around the corner. Hopefully the sign will be offered at a discount on Black Friday.
Awesome to see new female characters especially Mary. Also great to see the Off Ramp Inn. The mini events are cool, some lighter tapping and some reminders of classic episodes. I hope their is a Marge focused one soon – she seems to get the short end of the stick on both the show and in the game.

I recently had Brandine become available after birthing two consecutive Spucklers. I just don’t want the third because it takes too long, and I like having her available at the rail yard.
This event doesn’t do it for me. Not sure if it was getting hit with all the premium items (because I bought a lot from the last event), but I’ll save my donuts for Halloween. I did pick up the float from my vault, though. Looks nice by my rock stage.

I noticed yesterday among other things was the Pet Store with a nice rebate in the vault, and was looking forward to picking it up before the 6 days had expired. Now today it is gone, replaced by other miscellaneous cr@p. Thanks for the quick 6 days, EA.
